This store replaces the Haggen that replaced the Albertson's. The old Smart & Final (at 332 S PCH, Redondo Beach) closed and is replaced by two new stores - this one and the one in North Redondo (615 N PCH). Today is the opening day. The advertised sale isn't all that great - bananas are 10 cents off a pound, cereal is 50 cents off, and toilet paper is a couple of dollars off for a half pallet. You get a free reusable shopping bag. Don't go buck wild now! Inside, this place looks exactly like the original Albertson's. Same harsh and dim lighting. Same layout and hardware. I'm not familiar with Smart & Final stores but didn't see anything unique...

Just got to line, already my turn !!!!

Quick stop , didn't have much time for i was on a time crunch . This location is my go - to! I know my Spots . This S&F is really pleasant , inside and out. I like that it's in close proximity to the beach and you can see it from the parking lot. To speed things up with the story I went in and checked the items I needed off of my list. Wow . Found everything pretty fast, yess ! Employees here are normally friendly and helpful when I make my trips down here. I was at the tail end of my list now in the coffee aisle and a worker quickly noticed I needed help finding something. Without hesitation asked if I need help looking for an item. I totally wear my heart on my sleeve and battle high anxiety so I'm obviously in a rush w my head spinning with a confused look on my face perusing through w my cart. The girl working had great attitude, friendly and approachable. I think she actually put my frantic nerves at ease during our brief encounter , I think her name was Michelle or Vanessa . Thank you for your help ! almost finished. Heading to check-out line .....approaching cashier, chose a good line for once , no line .... one guy Ahead just paid at the register and now it's my turn to be right Spankin next and get to where I need to drop my groceries off just in time !!!!! Woooo!!!. But wait , grab my receipt and walking toward the exit and a cute little Girl Scout waiting by her table of my sweet favorites!! Excuse me what ?? Heck yessss this just made my whole day!! Nothing like Girl Scout cookies to get me through the first day of the week! Supporting the Girl Scout hustlers of America always , so talk about being at the right place at the right time ! Wow .

I've been a loyal Smart & Final customer since before it was even trendy. Haha. But seriously, it seems that ever since all the other supermarkets in the world went out of business Smart & Final is not the end-all-be-all place to shop! Here are the reasons I've been such a fan for so long: 1. this stuff is always extremely nice and helpful. 2. They have a huge variety and selection of all the Staples. 3. They have increased the availability of organic and other non GMO types of food products. 4.there is always plenty of parking and it's a very convenient in and out. 5. They surprisingly have a nice fish selection. I've recently been getting the stuffed salmon that you just put in the toaster oven for 13 minutes and while I do have a gourmet dinner. Just like that! I'm a huge fan now and forever. Long Live Smart & Final.

My wife's first time shopping here at our new Smart & Final extra!! Now I know why they added (extra) to the name...it's extra nice! :)

I was looking for a few flavors which seemed to be out of stock. There was a nice stock person who was working in the aisle and I asked him if there were more flavors in the back. He used his hand held radio to inquire with another worker and confirmed that they were out of stock. The other worker came over and reconfirmed that they were out. While I was disappointed that I couldn't purchase the flavors that I wanted, I did find some others to buy and appreciated the customer service from the 2 employees.

This is a review of the handling of a very simple cake decor order…read more Please see photos for the colors I requested and what I got. I also confirmed 3x that the colors would be accurate to the balloon garland that they were provided a photo of and that it would be ombré. They seemed to be confused as to how this could be done (said it'd end up being a purple cake) and so I provided the solution of needing to ombré into white and then into the next color. I made the order in-store, not online. I explained very clearly what I was looking for, which was not at all complicated. When I went in to request a refund, the individual who I spoke with gave an empty apology, seemed to not care at all and said that they "don't have the strongest decorator" and that they "do what we can". Listen-do not take an order if you cannot fulfill it-it's that simple. How embarrassing for them. This was my daughter's 1st birthday cake and while nothing could've ruined the party-this cake was so carelessly handled I came out of my 2 year hiatus of writing 99% glowing reviews. DO NOT use their cake ordering services. They don't know what they're doing and they don't care that they don't know what they're doing.

It makes me feel super unwelcome when I come here just about every week. That said, there are also some outstanding folks who work here and seem to enjoy what they do. Shout out to the rockstar looking dude in the toiletry section who goes out of his way and genuinely wants to help! I'll still come for the fuel points because arghhhh.

I had a very disappointing experience with an employee named Tracy at the self-checkout area…read more I was checking out and trying to start a second transaction, but I was having trouble clearing the screen. Since I wasn't sure how to proceed, I asked Tracy for assistance. Instead of coming over to help, she stood several feet away and repeatedly yelled, "Remove your items from the register!" Because I am a customer, not an employee, I didn't immediately understand what she meant. There was nothing on the scanner, so I was confused. Rather than calmly explaining the issue or coming over to assist, she continued raising her voice and repeating the same instruction. The situation became embarrassing, as other customers could hear her. I finally asked her to stop yelling and please come help me. When she eventually came over, it became obvious that I simply didn't realize she was referring to the items I had already paid for that were sitting on the bagging area scale. Even after realizing I was confused and genuinely needed assistance, her attitude remained rude and dismissive. She walked away without offering any further help. As I was leaving, I told her that she hadn't been very helpful and that I simply needed assistance because I don't work there. Her response was a sarcastic smirk followed by a rude "Bye-bye." I found her behavior unprofessional, disrespectful, and completely inappropriate for someone assigned to assist customers at self-checkout. I felt as though I was being scolded for doing something wrong when I was simply asking for help. Customer service should involve patience, courtesy, and a willingness to assist people who are unfamiliar with the self-checkout process. I hope management addresses this issue, as no customer should be made to feel embarrassed or treated this way when asking for help.

I'm giving this Redondo Beach Sprouts 2 stars because I've now had issues with spoiled almond milk…read moreon more than one occasion. The first time, I purchased Sprouts brand unsweetened almond milk and Sprouts vanilla almond milk, and both had gone sour before their expiration dates. On a separate visit, I purchased a chocolate almond milk from a different brand, and it was also sour as soon as I opened it. In all cases, I refrigerated the products immediately after getting home, so improper storage on my end was not the issue. The fact that this happened with multiple brands and on different shopping trips makes me believe there may be a refrigeration or temperature-control issue at this location. It's hard to see another explanation when products from different manufacturers are experiencing the same problem. This has resulted in approximately $15-$20 worth of product being wasted, which is frustrating and disappointing. Customers should be able to trust that refrigerated items are being stored properly before purchase. Another ongoing issue is the lack of baggers available at checkout. Cashiers are often expected to scan and bag groceries at the same time, which slows down the checkout process and creates longer lines. Considering the premium prices Sprouts charges, I would expect better staffing and a more efficient checkout experience. I hope management looks into both the refrigeration of refrigerated products and the checkout staffing at this location. These are recurring issues that have negatively affected my shopping experience and make me hesitant to purchase refrigerated items here in the future.

It's unexpectedly large for a place by the shore, and I was thrilled because even though I checked Yelp and Google, I couldn't find much info. They're open super early and stay open late, and it's just such a gem especially since that area tends to shift toward restaurants or other businesses. This neighborhood really needed a good grocery store, and they have everything: fresh meat, drinks, snacks, fruits just like a full local grocery. The staff was really nice and laid-back, though the only downside is that parking is super limited and intersection it's tough to get in and out since it's near a small with a red light. Still, I'm really glad it's there, and I want to give a big shout-out to the local folks to support this place. The prices are really reasonable, and we need to keep these local businesses thriving. they're the heart of the community. I gave them five stars. I just hope they can clean it up a bit inside, maybe freshen up the shelves or ceiling. But overall, I'm so happy it's here, and we need more of these places in our city.
