Your store only had 1 female cashier open. The store is kind of dark and I mentioned it to her. Anyway, I watched as custo.ers came up for final purchases. She smiled at everyone, gave kind and courteous service to each and every person. My mind said simply AMAZING... its 1 am and I have insomnia and am restless but I am very alert and saw her professionalism and unique talent, not to mention she is beautiful, and through her talent aline I could see into her heart. It was just last night so Id appreciate if you sought her out, sat her down and give recognition as talent like that can only be praised from a person such as myself. I usually drive around 2nd street when im awake and there is a curfew woth no grocery stores open that late. In the past you use to be able to come here and get pretty good deals but that seems to be long gone. Came here could barely find a basket to shop for food. The produce seems to be pretty fresh. There are some hotspots here and there that some of the produce could be a little bit fresher, especially with the tomatoes and the avocados. The other fruit and produce seem to be pretty good. They do have a smaller section of organic produce that seems to be fairly stocked well but price a little higher than normal. The staff is always friendly here. I've never had any issues with checkout. The parking lot could be a little cleaner as there is a lot of homeless that are in the front of the store and on the side of it. They also have security so that's good. This is not my typical store that I would go to, but I have and will when I'm in a crunch.

I hadn't expected to be swooned before breakfast, but I was. It started with a glance at the deli counter. Behind the glass counter you can see the glistening meats turn slowly on the spits. I knew it was early, but I asked for a chicken shawarma wrap. "Five minutes," the man replied. And just like that, he was gone. After five minutes a woman appeared in his place, calm and unreadable. She told me she couldn't make a shawarma, but she could make me - and then she said something in her native language and made a motion with her hands. These were words I didn't recognize. Not even close. "I'm sorry, what?" I asked. She repeated it, as if I didn't hear her. I listened again, and I still didn't understand. There was a pause between us, but I was completely captivated. She said, "It's a sandwich". I nodded and smiled. "yes, chicken, please." Then it began, she went to the baker, giving him instructions, he began shaping a fresh loaf just for me. I watched, transfixed, as the dough came to life in his hands before disappearing into the heat of their homemade tandoor oven. Moments later, it emerged, warm, blistered, and perfect. She was there to catch it, like it belonged to her all along. She took it and split it open, gently, then added the chicken carved straight from the spit, as it was still turning. On to fresh cucumbers, crisp onions, a generous smear of garlic and yogurt, a dusting of spices. Nothing was careless but she was mechanical and every movement deliberate. As I watched, I know that she made the sandwich with a quiet care and with her hands as if every step mattered. When she finally pressed the bread together and wrapped it, there was intention in it. That was something made just for me. I didn't see any like it written on the menu. I took it in my hands. It was still warm. I could smell it and decided I wasn't going to wait long before first bite. Sitting at a table outside a coffee shop, the first bite was everything at once, juicy meat, crisp veggies, rich yogurt. The warm bread pocketed with the great flavors unfolded in a way that felt balanced and complete and brought the whole experience alive. It filled me in a way I hadn't expected, like a fleeting connection that somehow lingers longer than it should. The whole experience felt almost intimate, because she had taken it upon herself to make it truly satisfying. Each bite was unconscionably shaped with thought and attention. While it wasn't love, it was more like a morning fling. Definitely one I didn't plan and the kind you don't question. But it's the kind that leaves you full, a little dazed, and already wondering if you'll ever find your way back to something so satisfying. That particular store may seem a bit offsetting for some. It might be its location. Or the decor. It is shaped more by culture than design trends. There is a lived-in charm to it where authenticity matter more than polish, and every corner feels like a small piece of home. The workers communicate in generous, full voices of their native language in an open way. It's not an angry or offsetting way, but they are very open and at ease in their environment. I also really enjoyed the $9 a la carte lamb shank and the French Feta-style cheese if very rich and creamy. Both get thumbs up!

I went up to the counter and greeted the young lady. (Silence) I had half a dozen items in my cart and a six-gallon pack of water. I asked her if she needed one of the bottles to scan. She looked the other direction and waved her hand at me like I was a fly buzzing around her head. She totaled everything up and I paid. As I started to walk away, she said "Wait! I didn't ring up the water. My bad." Okay, fine, you're treating me like crap, you've made an entirely avoidable mistake after I offered to help you, but hey, no problem. So she rings up the water and tells me the total - it was over $30!!! I said, "No, I don't think that's right." She pointed to the screen like I was an idiot. I said, "Wait, you're charging me $1.49 CRV per bottle?!? That should be something like ten cents per bottle, shouldn't it? Did the state recently raise the CRV? And Crystal Geyser is only $1.39 per bottle. How could six bottles of water cost thirty bucks?" She told me with absolute certainty (and more than a little impatience) that was the correct total adding "It costs that much everywhere!" So I said, "Okay, well, I'll just put it back because I can't afford five dollars a bottle for water." So I put it on another case of water where the display read, "Crystal Geyser, $1.39/gallon." I wished her a good night and she just scowled at me as she rang for a manager. I got as far as the shopping carts outside when I saw the manager approach. So I went back in and asked, in all sincerity, "Did the CRV really go up to $1.49 per plastic bottle? That's more than the water itself." At first the manager took the young lady's side and I said, "Okay, this is news to me" before she corrected herself to say the young woman rang me up for an entirely different case of 24 bottles and the CRV for THAT was $1.49 for the case. She then told me the Crystal Geyser was $1.39 before adding "Plus ten cents per bottle, so that's $1.49 out the door!" I replied, "Yeah, I know. You two have a nice evening!" No apology, no sign of regret for treating me - inexplicably - like I'm a moron and not an ounce of humility for such a glaringly stupid mistake! At what point did people give up all semblence of critical thinking skills that they would be supremely confident a bottle of water costs as much as a gallon of gas?!? At no point did this young lady even consider that a mistake had been made. She just glared at me like I was the problem. My hand to Christ, I don't want to complain! I don't! And as someone who has worked as a public servant for 40+ years, I'm very tolerant of service workers who are a little unfriendly because, hey, we all have bad days, right? But f*** me! You want to first treat me with indifference, then with annoyed arrogance and then you have the audacity to try to convince me water costs five bucks? I blame this sort of intellectual bankruptcy on Trump. We're becoming a nation where not only do the simplest of facts not matter, but critical thinking skills have been replaced with smug, fact free narratives where something is true as long as someone wants it to be true.

The cashier had mental health issues or maybe under the influence. After this whole ordeal. I have two transactions from Aldi for a 250.00 purchase. Uuugghhh SELF CHECK OUT !!! If this is the staff Aldi hires. I would rather shop at whole foods and pay double.

He then got a major attitude and started talking to me like I was stupid and started pulling all of the bottles off and opening the tops and saying, "closed" "closed" "closed" "these are NOT FOR CUSTOMERS TO PUT ON THEIR FOOD!!" and then he walked away. I was pretty confused because these bottles weren't sealed..... the top has one of those airtight holes that only opens when squeezed..... and I told him that.... I told him I didn't pull any seal off of the bottle, it was already open..... but he said I wasn't allowed to use them unless I purchased the whole bottle....... This is after I spent over 150 dollars on gas btw. I was so upset over the entire interaction that I didn't even bother purchasing my big gulp and food. I just left it on the counter and walked out. Later after further research I discovered I was in-fact right. That toppings bar is in-fact for customers to use. That man was very wrong. I was treated like absolute crap, for something that he was completely wrong about. He yelled at me and spoke to me like I was a complete imbecile or trying to come up on the store.
