Daniel the rude cashier
Suzanne G.

Unbelievable how rude this cashier, Daniel was. I simply asked him if he was open because the lane had one light off and he responded like he was annoyed by a simple question. Instead of saying yes, he snapped saying "well the light won't be on if I was not open." I felt like dropping all my items and leaving! How extremely rude this was. I then tried to explain to him, I was not sure and he cut me off, pointing to the light like I was an idiot mumbling something under his breath, I could hear.

Reviews Smart & Final Extra! Google review summary 5 4 I purchased 2 rose bouquets on the 5/8/25, when assembling them, some of them began falling apart, inner petals were dried, stalks broken. I called in on the 5/9/25 and spoke to the manager on duty, and she asked me to come in with the receipt or wrapping so that I could be refunded. I went in today, 5/14/25 and spoke to Sabra and showed her the pictures, receipt, and call log that I had contacted the store. All the while she kept insisting 'we don't guarantee our flowers and don't give refunds or returns on them', like a stuck record, over and over again. This after explaining that the manager on duty on 5/14/25 had said I would be refunded. Sabra had zero customer service skills but kept harping in on not refunding the money. What she could have done is refunded the money and explained that the next time they couldn't stand by the quality of their flowers. I have always bought flowers from S&F, this was the second time this happened and this will be the last time I buy my flowers from them. S&F, train your associates to give better customer service, especially people like Sabra who are in direct contact with customers.

Flowers always looking fresh

I visited Smart and Final in Diamond Bar yesterday. Everything looked very organized, including fresh produce. I was looking for Michelob Ultra, Crystal Geyser water, and some cans of soda. The only thing out of stock was the water 35pk. When I got to the front, Jessica asked if I found everything okay. I said I only couldn't find the Crystal Geyser 35pk. She said honestly it was probably sold out, I told her yeah I figured since it was a busy weekend. She scanned my app and realized the Michelob Ultra was not ringing up at the advertised price. She literally took matters into her own hands, went to check why it wasn't, wrote the correct code from the back stock and came back and told another staff member to please fetch the correct one. Apparently I grabbed the wrong size. I was surprised about this since the packs looked almost the same. I couldn't believe how above and beyond she went, I offered to put the other ones back and she told me not to worry, all I had to do was wait to the side and the gentleman would come back with the correct packs. She even checked on me and told me he was already coming back. I was so impressed. I thanked her for such great service. She is truly exemplary and deserves praise for this act and the MANY I'm sure go unnoticed. Great job Jessica! I will definitely come back to this location when I need any items from Smart and Final.

A great alternative if you want to buy some things in bulk and avoid the craziness at Costco! Or just go on a regular grocery shopping trip because they have many necessities any regular grocery store would carry. I usually buy their frozen hash browns for breakfast! You get a large sized pack for around like $6 which is always a good deal. Also great deal on large size condiments like ketchup! I would pass on the croissants cause they're too thick and chewy. As well as their bakery cakes, they were too dry! Sometimes they have good prices on soda and alcohol as well. You just gotta shop around and see what deals you find!

WOW! Jackpot dessert & pastries for my birthday celebration tomorrow

Domenic (Dom) warm welcome. And Jasmine & Kris assisted me @ the register. WOW ! I gotten a lot of good deals on pastries & different desserts for tomorrow on my birthday celebration. Excellent teamwork from Dom to Jasmine to Kris!) Thanks to All made my day:)

Mold on cheese that has 3+ months until unexpired date
Tim P.

First ever time shopping at Smart & Final has gone beyond utter disappointment. Bought 3 different varieties of cheese (checked expiration dates; 3+ months left) and 2 of them are simply rotten from poor maintenance at the store. Didn't expect to be impressed or anything but... not sure if I'd ever want to shop at Smart & Final again.

After exiting See's Candies at the Towne Centre Village in Diamond Bar, I received a phone call…read morefrom my Mom. She asked me to buy her one bunch of bananas to give to her neighbor. Of course, I couldn't say no. Luckily, there is an Albertsons within the village. We were on our way! My eldest daughter and I walked into this Albertsons and headed straight to the produce section. We had no time to waste because our See's chocolates were melting away in the car LOL... it was very warm that day! Anyway, the bananas were riping away, too LOL... I didn't care for them being too ripe or yellow. I asked the produce stocker if they had any more bananas in the back that were less ripe. He came back with a few boxes of fresh bananas that still had some green to them. Thank you young man!! We got our banana bunch. Headed to the register to pay. Line was short. After payment, we were out of here. Very quick visit. We didn't get a chance to peruse the rest of the store, but I did get to snap a few photos here and there. I've been to other Albertsons in the past. This one is no different. It was clean and organized. Aisles were wide. I was a little sad when I saw there weren't very many customers while we were here. Sometimes I wonder how all the different supermarkets compete with one another. Good luck Albertsons! For the Diamond Bar residents and/or anyone visiting the area, come on out and support your neighborhood Albertsons!

I am writing a follow-up review because I noticed Store Manager Dawn M. has directed other customer…read morecomplaints in the reviews to Albertsons' official "Contact Us" page. I followed that process and submitted my concern there, but several days have now passed, and I have received no response. Unfortunately, since my previous review, I returned to this location and had yet another troubling experience. This time, I was with a friend, and we were the only POCs in the checkout line. Before our turn, the cashier was warm, cheerful, and engaged with the customers ahead of us. She smiled, chatted, and appeared to be in a very good mood. The moment we stepped forward, that demeanor disappeared. We greeted her politely, smiled, and behaved courteously. In return, we received no greeting, no acknowledgment, and no basic courtesy. The contrast was so immediate and obvious that both my friend and I noticed it. What made the interaction even more uncomfortable was the way our items were handled. Instead of placing them down normally, the cashier dropped or pushed several items onto the counter with unnecessary force. We had never met this employee before, and there was no conflict or misunderstanding that could explain such hostility. At this point, it is very difficult to keep treating these experiences as isolated incidents. Different employees have been involved, yet the pattern keeps repeating. If there is another explanation, I would welcome one. But after repeated uncomfortable experiences, a previous complaint, following the "Contact Us" process referenced by Dawn M., and receiving no response, I am left feeling that these concerns are simply being ignored. I continue to shop here because this store is close to my home, but it is deeply upsetting to feel anxious about going to a neighborhood grocery store because of how I may be treated at checkout. I would appreciate a substantive response from Albertsons rather than continued silence.

The staff, from my experience, are polite and helpful. Overall, my experiences here have been pleasant. Ok, so here are reasons why I would not give higher stars: Restocking of shelves appears to be done during peak hours. This is awkward when you are trying to grab something from a shelf but employees are working and blocking the aisles. I'm not talking about one aisle, but the entire store, again during busy hours. Other markets, appear to do this overnight or off peak hours. My true gripe is the payment system. In the year of 2024, I am able to use my debit or credit card by tapping the pay machine. Here at Walmart market (or the super store), this does not exist. Here I insert my credit or debit card in the pay machine that reads "error" at least 5 times before it accepts it. My same card that works perfectly fine at every other store. So here is the issue. The biggest and richest retail chain in the US won't spend the difference for pay machines that use the contactless pay method.

I reported the issue to the store, but the manager only refunded the ice cream and gave a verbal apology. This was not just a simple refund issue. It was a serious suspected food safety incident involving a child and medical treatment. I believe Walmart should investigate the product batch, freezer temperature records, and storage conditions. I am very disappointed with how this was handled.

I don't shop at Aldi very often, so this was a confusing experience…read more I picked up a package of chicken legs that were advertised in the store for $1.99 per pound. However, the package label itself still showed the regular price per pound. Since the printed barcode label showed a higher price, I simply asked my cashier of the day, Emily, if she could confirm that the sale price per pound was actually being applied at the register. Instead of checking the price, Emily, who looked visibly annoyed by my "extremely complicated" request, told me she could not see the price per pound and that I would have to pay first before seeing the price on the receipt. She also suggested that I could simply pay first if the price turned out to be wrong, and then process a refund afterward. That felt completely backwards. Customers should not have to complete a purchase just to verify the price of an item sold by weight. For a brief moment I thought I had accidentally stepped into a South Asian government office somewhere, where the process is: pay first, ask questions later. In my mind I was thinking, "I'm not asking for the secrets of the universe here. I only asked you to read the price per pound that your register is showing, so I can feel good about saving $1.79." When I explained that I simply wanted to confirm the price before paying, Emily my cashier of the day became even more annoyed and asked, "So do you want to buy this or not?" When I said I would rather not pay without knowing the actual price per pound, she ended the interaction with, "Then We are done." Jeez.... Curiosity got the best of me, so I walked around the store until I found the store manager afterward and asked how customers are supposed to know they are getting the advertised sale price (while showing him the weekly ad)? He explained that the price printed on the package is usually the regular price, while the sale price appears at the register when the item is scanned. Fair enough. But for someone who does not shop at Aldi often, this is not obvious at all, especially when the printed label shows a completely different price. I suppose this is not Erewhon, but still, when the price looks "wrong", customers tend to ask questions. To be fair, the manager was super awesomely helpful and took the time to explain how the pricing system works, so kudos to him ! Unfortunately, the interaction with the cashier was unnecessarily complicated. Asking to confirm the price of an item before paying seems like a pretty reasonable request. Aldi's prices are great, but the checkout customer service could use a little improvement. And if Emily happens to be running the register next time, perhaps management could let customers borrow the register for two minutes and run their own self-checkout while she enjoys a well-deserved chocolate break.
