I went to Grocery Outlet today because Stater Bros. in Walnut closed down. They don't carry a lot of the name brands that I'm used to, and their produce section is really small. Besides two checkers (at the same check stand!), there was absolutely no one in the store to help. I had a few questions, but I had to go up to the checker to ask. There was a really long line, and they didn't open up another register. The prices are decent, but the selection is not great. The worst part about shopping here is that you have to put a quarter into a slot on the shopping cart in order to use it. Then, when you are done shopping, you have to take the cart back to get your quarter. It was confusing to me. Thank goodness a nice young girl helped me out. I don't plan to go back there unless I only need a few items.

DEAR ALDI MANAGEMENT: please train your staff to be courteous and polite and accommodating! I love Aldi, don't get me wrong. It helps me save a lot of money in fresh produce and I always had positive shopping experiences here, until today. I went in thinking to get only bananas and chicken breast pack for my cats so I didn't get a cart like I normally do and went in with only 1 shopping bag in my hands. Before I knew it, I got avocados, grapes and celery too, and my God, those things are heavy! So after putting my bag at the cashier's moving conveyor belt, I saw 4 shopping carts locked in a row near the cashier and I right away got a quarter from my wallet and put that in to get myself a cart so I didn't need to carry such a heavy bag to my car. I was so shocked when the cashier yelled at me and said "ma'am! Those shopping carts need to stay here!" I tried to explain that I didn't expect to shop this much so I didn't get a cart when I walked in. She doesn't care and replied "then you need to walk outside and get one from outside!" Wow! Wow! Wow! Dear Aldi management, please train your staff to be courteous and polite and accommodating! What's wrong with getting that cart? If you are kind and understanding, you can just tell me "ok ma'am, but pls remember to return the cart back inside when you're done, ok, because these carts actually need to stay inside" But no! Instead, she yelled at me in front of everybody and even after I tried to explain the situation she didn't care!

I also came here for some pretty yogurt bowls. I ended up picking green grapes, mangos, and strawberries for my yogurt bowl. The fruits were all delicious and the cereal gave a good crisp that made me wanting to eat more. The yogurt was okay but with the honey and all the mix in made it something I would come back to get often. I thought it was on more on the pricey side but they use really good ingredients. It will be more of a monthly treat. Overall, if you're looking for yummy ripe fruits or beautiful yogurt bowls this is your spot.

The layout of the store was very interesting because it looked like a mini market, and they sell fresh exotic fruits and snacks. Ordering a yogurt was a bit confusing because I did not see any pricing, but they had some instructions on how to order. Step 1: Choose dry Greek yogurt. Step 2: Pick up your fresh fruits (limit 3 items). Step 3: Choose Topping (Oats, coconut chips, or boom boom pearl). Step 4: Honey or Dark Chocolate My daughter picked a small jar of Organic blue spirulina with coconut dry yogurt. Then she picked green grapes, mangos, and strawberries for her yogurt bowl. And we also picked boom boom pearl for topping, and chose honey at the end. Then the lady told me that the price was $24.08. It was pricey. I don't understand their pricing or explanation, even though I have the receipt. She told me that it took about 10-15 minutes to make it. Honestly, for the small jar of organic blue spirulina with coconut dry yogurt, it tasted a bit sour, and I was not a fan of it. The presentation of the yogurt was nice; however, for the price that we paid, it was still a bit ripped off. The fruits were fresh, and the boom boom pearl tasted like popping boba was interesting. The Greek Yogurt was a bit too thick. I would rather go to the Açaí bowl place to have more fresh fruit and a bigger portion. The lady was friendly and helpful. But I would rather go to Açaí bowl and Yogurtland combined next time. P.S. I forgot to mention that they were out of honey, so no honey in the yogurt bowl.

I could honestly write forever about Cal Poly Pomona Farm Store, and that alone should tell you how…read morespecial this place is. Yes, it's a farmers market style spot, and yes, things are going to be more expensive than a regular grocery store, but that's not the point. You come here for quality, for experience, and most importantly, for the orange juice. I cannot stress this enough. The orange juice is what they're known for and for good reason. It is absolutely bomb. I've come during peak season and off season, and while today's juice wasn't exactly what I had in my head, it was still incredibly good. When it's in season, it's next level. Truly one of those things you just have to try at least once, although once usually turns into every visit. What makes this place even better is that so many of the products are student made. As an alumni, this spot really captures what a college campus and college town should feel like. It's student run, student supported, and you can feel that pride in every interaction. The students are genuinely kind, helpful, and excited to be there. Today especially, everyone was incredibly welcoming. I even told one of them I was thinking about writing a review and they encouraged me to try something new, which led me to trying the milk for the first time. While they don't make the milk themselves, the brand they carry is excellent. I tried both the banana milk and the chocolate milk and wow. These are officially becoming staples in my home. There is so much to choose from that it can almost be overwhelming, and that's not a bad thing. One of the students helping me was a freshman and didn't know the answer to one of my questions, which was totally fine because there really are that many items. It honestly just made the experience feel more real and authentic. The store itself is adorable and has so many cute photo opportunities. Everything is nicely laid out, peaceful, and welcoming. They also sell plants, which I've purchased before, and while mine are still young and haven't produced fruit yet, they're healthy and doing great. Parking is never an issue, which is a huge plus. They even have a little van area that makes it easy for people to enjoy the space without stress. There's also a petting farm in the same shopping area, which adds to the charm. The entire place is thoughtfully built and well designed. You can grab something to eat or drink, walk around, play some games out front, and just enjoy being there. It's calm, peaceful, and grounding. While you might expect it to be full of students, you actually see a lot of community members too, which makes it feel like a true gathering place rather than just a campus store. This is absolutely worth the drive. More universities should follow this model because it genuinely strengthens the connection between the school and the surrounding community in the best way possible. Give it a shot. Seriously. Come with an open mind, try something new, support the students, and do not leave without getting the orange juice. You will not regret it.

This looked like a big ol' farm store and from the second I saw it, I was pretty darn excited. This large store features ample parking, tables outside, and a petting zoo that didn't actually have any animals, but maybe they were just inside. The shop itself is full of baked goods, clothing, drinks, and literally everything else you can usually find at a farm style store. I was super tempted to pick up a bunch of chocolate when walking around, but since it was pretty hot outside I had to settle for the farms own Orange Juice and a big fat rice crispy treat with chocolate and pretzel on top. The orange juice was OH SO refreshing on this hot day and the rice crispy treat was really good as well. Overall, The Cal Poly Pomona Farm Store is a great place to stop and pick up a few things. I really liked the two things I picked up and I can definitely see stopping back here the next time i'm in Pomona!

Now it's back and conveniently located in the spacious parking lot at Mt. SAC. As usual, there are tons of veggie vendors. There's a bread stand. There's a nut stand. There's a hummus stand. Plenty of the usual stands. But sets this market apart from others are the hidden gems between stalls. For being an early morning market, there are a ton of hot food options - I picked up two tamales from the tamale person for $4 bucks a pop. Their prices haven't been inflated by the inflation. I also saw a Mediterranean stand and I'm pretty sure there was an Asian stand of some sort. What I loved about this market was the pastry guy, unapologetically located smack dab in the center of the market. All of his pastries run around $5-$6 dollars and everything I picked up was so delicious. I bought an almond croissant, a pistachio croissant, and a ham & cheese guy - all the croissants were phenomenally flakey. I also picked up a spinach and cheese quiche which made for a nice breakfast situation. Definitely come here for the pastries. Based on my observation, everyone was here for the seafood peddler. The line for this stand snaked around the market. Pretty. good options for being such a small market.

Cashier basically told us the price scanned is what it is and don't look at the tag saying we saw the wrong items tagged and barcode. She basically told us she can't do anything since that's what it scans as. I'm pretty sure I checked the tag so we went back grabbed the tag and brought it up. The barcodes matched so we escalated to someone more knowledgeable since the cashier didn't want to do anything. After 5-10 mins someone finally came up and said that's the price on the tag and they had to honor it.
