Somehow I am always surprised by what I can find at Smart & Final. I wouldn't say prices are like SUPER competitive, but still relatively affordable. Whenever I am looking for party supplies or even cookware in a pinch, I can always find what I need here. They have a decent alcohol selection and plenty of snacks. They have produce, but they don't have many organic options. You can also grab flowers and lots of themed goods depending on whatever Holiday it is. They have a good sized parking lot that makes it really easy to get in and out of there. Somehow there is always a line at check out. They don't always have that many cashiers working at once. I recently bought some duraflame logs here, but noticed they also sell real wood. Their in house brand First Street has a lot of decent quality products.

This is the worse Smart & Final cashier are lazy, unfriendly and unwilling to help. Instead of completing the transaction if there something they need to bounce check they move you out of the line and have you carry everything again to another register

Puss filled pork butt. EXTRA GRODY!!!

I had a semi good review of Smart & Final and I deleted it after today's nightmare! I used to think so incredibly high of S&F and that came crashing to the ground today. SO... it was like any other night, and I decided to pop in and get my usual staples, sugar, oil, cat food, napkins, butter, and because it's Chinese New Year... PORK BUTT (bone-in) so hubby could make pork dumplings. I paid my bill, helped bag my groceries, chatted with the cashier, and left. As I was driving home, I was super excited to think, "YAY... DUMPLINGS!" Boy, was I SEVERELY mistaken. I put the other items away, and hubby started to cut up the pork butt to prep it for the meat grinder. Then, all of a sudden I hear my husband say, "YEP. CANCER!!!!" I asked him what he was talking about and he said, "Come here... LOOK!!! GREEN PUSS!" When I saw it... I almost yacked in my kitchen. I kid you not... there was green puss oozing from the section of meat he had just cut into. IT WAS HUGE!!!! It was a lemon-sized tumor he cut into... and it STUNK like DEATH!!!! Hubby and I were absolutely mortified!!!! The smell along with the sight of that nasty-grody-raunchy, puss-filled meat made us physically sick. We IMMEDIATELY threw the meat away in the bin outside and sterilized and bleached EVERYTHING that it touched. By the way? That poor animal must have been in misery before it died. What's worse is how many other people have eaten from that same sickly animal? NEVER AGAIN! Smart & Final screwed up! Enjoy the pic... that's what we endured tonight!

Halfway through our purchase and already this many rotten or damaged fruit

Of course, you can't forget the free food samples--I always enjoy seeing what new items they're promoting. At my last job, Costco was also a community partner and supported us with food and beverages for nearly all of our events, which made me appreciate them even more. Lastly, the food court is a must. I somehow always leave with a hot dog and a slice of pizza. The only downside is the parking. There are plenty of spaces, but it's almost always packed and can be a bit outrageous to deal with.

It was clear that there were not enough employees available to handle the number of customers, which led to unnecessary delays and a very disorganized experience. Customers were left waiting for extended periods without any clear communication or sense of urgency from the staff. The overall system they have in place seems inefficient and not designed to handle busy times effectively. I've included a picture to show exactly what the situation looked like--it speaks for itself. Costco usually has a reputation for good service, but this visit was very disappointing. I hope management takes a closer look at staffing and improves their process to better serve customers.

It is conveniently located across the street from the Topanga mall, and adjacent to the Village shops. I would recommend planning a day where you can get lunch and then do some grocery shopping afterwards. Or you can always go to the Costco food court and get the classic pizza slice or hot dog, which are always pretty solid options if you are in a rush. The staff at this Costco are helpful, and I enjoy getting the free samples while I am shopping. Overall it is a good shopping experience. My only criticism was that the bathroom could have been cleaner. This is an issue that can be easily fixed, and I plan on updating my review next time I visit this location.

At around $1.50, they are juicy, flavorful, and hit that perfect balance between satisfying and indulgent. For anyone looking for a quick, cheap snack that actually tastes good, these are the undisputed MVP of the food court. Now, onto the drinks. The Coke was a major disappointment. Flat, watered-down, and lacking carbonation, it missed the mark entirely. Even casual soda drinkers will notice the lack of fizz and flavor. It is basically flavored water in a cup. The environment was chaotic, as expected from a busy Costco. The line was very long, and several of the machines were out of receipts, which slowed things down and added to the general frenzy. Despite this, the staff were moving as efficiently as possible, and the overall flow of the line was reasonable given the circumstances. Price point remains unbeatable. The combination of high-quality, cheap hot dogs and efficient service even in chaos makes the food court a worthwhile stop. My recommendation is to go for the hot dogs, enjoy them while they are hot, and do not get your hopes up for the soda. Overall, Costco food court delivers on value and taste even if some aspects of the experience such as the soda and long lines leave a bit to be desired. If you are looking for a quick, satisfying bite without breaking the bank, it is a reliable choice.

Their 3rd party delivery service "Rey Foods" gets all the good carts and leaves the worse ones for us customers. Injured my back a couple of months ago because none of the wheels work. Spoke to employees about his whereabouts and apparently he looks over his son's company which happens to be "Rey Foods" as well. How is this not a conflict of interest?! Also, if you spend enough money the equipment manager ( Manuel Romero) will help you with taking your carts out even if there's no loaders around or gets another manager (Abraham Romero). I don't know what store does this, clearly there's some illegal things going on in that store and with Rey Foods, since the equipment manager has his employee from his department scan his son's order. Thanks again employees and customers of Restaurants Depot for all this information. This comes from months of frustration with management here. Not to mention they had a Male entertainer a couple of years ago for an apparent birthday. Can't get security for our cars getting broken into but have enough for a male performer. So UNPROFESSIONAL, and with customer like me in line waiting to get checked out. Please do better Restaurant Depot.
