After having lunch, I wanted something sweet and Smallcakes was perfect. I chose the lemon and I'm so glad I did. I had a great lemony flavor. The cupcake itself is huge. I think generally for this price point it's a great buy. The cupcake itself is kind of crumbly and airy and the frosting is dense. It was really, really good. I didn't know this place existed. Witnessed many people coming out of this store while leaving a lunch date at a next door restaurant. I saw two big endorsements on the window from The Food Network and USA Today. That convinced me to take a look inside. Wow!! Speciality cupcakes!! The colorful icing looked yummy but the minimum price was $15 for 4 cupcakes. The size was pretty big so I purchased 4. Nothing worse like heading to a smallcakes from a Facebook referral and when u get there NO customer service! Welp-thats at the Griffin location NOT at this one! These guys in Stockbridge have excellent customer service! And they are VERY welcoming! The cupcakes were moist and flavorful. This place is super cute and tasty! I know it sounds weird but the cupcake icing taste just like described. I tried the caramel crunch, strawberry, lemon, and peanut butter. This was the order of my favorite to least favorite: 1. Peanut butter 2. Strawberry 3. Lemon and 4. Caramel. I wanted to surprise someone with something but I couldn't think of what. I thought about doing an arrangement but I remembered driving past this bakery about a month ago. I prefer to support local businesses so I decided to give them a call. When I called, no one answered. However, about 5 minutes later, my phone rang. It was them calling me back. This impressed me because I didn't leave a message. Follow-up is huge for me. I spoke with a nice lady. I asked about their delivery fee and their flavors. She was patient and went down a long list of flavors that they had (which all sounded very tasty). I couldn't decide so I just asked her to pick whatever was popular and send. She allowed me to pay over the phone since the delivery was going elsewhere (a plus... I appreciate that convenience)! I called around 1p and asked her to deliver as soon as possible. She said she could have them delivered by 3p. AGAIN IMPRESSED! My friend called and let me know that he received the delivery and raved about how tasty the cupcakes were. I wish I had a picture to share. Heck, I didn't even get a chance to see them! :) He said he had to fight off his co-workers because everyone was begging for one. LOL! Definitely NOT impressed. I paid $22 for 6 cupcakes that were cold/refrigerated and wayyyy too sweet. The cashier seemed annoyed because I guess she was getting ready to close when we came in. I came here one day for a quick sugar fix. The place was clean nice and cozy. The cashier was friendly. They had so many different varieties of cupcakes that will make your head spin. So I went there 2 days in a row‍‍‍. Thankfully I had awesome customer service both times. I was greeted by a young lady with a blonde ponytail, but she had a hat on and there was an older lady sitting down in the back (looked like she was icing the cupcakes). When she came to the front she spoke but she looked really disheveled and her shirt wasn't the cleanest. So the first time I ordered red velvet and vanilla with chocolate icing. They we're so moist. I hate dry cupcakes so I was happy. The flavor was delicious for the vanilla one. I am always picky about my red velvet and wanted more nuts and she gave me more. The flavor for the red velvet was good although I like a little less chocolate flavor and more of that buttermilk kick to it like my granny could do when she baked them. The next day I got the chocolate cookie cheesecake and the pecan pie cupcakes (special flavors of the day) and they totally were spot on. So much in fact that I am going back today which is Friday and Saturday to try two other flavors ‍. This will now be my go to for my local cupcakes. The only suggestion I would make is with the employees, to maybe suggest wearing an apron to protect the shirts if they are working in the back and have to come to the front. read more

I will don't like giving bad reviews BUT sometimes it's necessary. I had a taste for something sweet and decided to try this place rather than drive to my normal spot. I should've walked out upon entering because I'm usually a stickler for customer service. Just know it doesn't exist here. No greeting. No warmth. Nothing. Nevertheless I purchased 4 cupcakes... Infamous Pumpkin, Strawberries and Creme, Orangesicle, and Pink Vanilla. I was excited about trying the pumpkin bc I LOVE PUMPKIN. Sadly, this cupcake fell flat. The icing was really crunchy like regular granulated sugar was used. Don't know what that is about. The cupcake tasted NOTHING LIKE PUMPKIN. I'd be surprised if a tablespoon of pumpkin was used in the batter. Gross. Infamously dry is more like it. At this point, I decided to take a bite out of each cupcake. Highly disappointed. I'm only giving two stars because the Pink Vanilla was not too bad. It was actually semi moist. I could taste the potential. The others were no better than the pumpkin. Seriously, I'll never return. The Recipe has definitely changed, The icing is not the same anymore and neither is the cake itself. Seems like they may be using Cheaper ingredients, but the price of the cupcakes stayed the same. $16 plus change for 4 cupcakes, not worth it anymore. I'm not sure if there is new management but you can definitely taste the difference in the cupcakes from before. Also, by seeing how skimpy they are on their icings and toppings. For $3.50 for a cupcake, you would assume it's definitely good. I thought wrong, the icing is way too sweet (like store bought icings). If you want real good cupcakes and get your money worth--GIGI cupcakes. Their icings and cakes are both delicious and let's be honest--they don't cheat you on the icings and it's made fresh. I guess I should have tried them out before placing a large order. I just was expecting to be wowed and wasn't at all. I will say I only tried one "specialty" and that was good. But the other signature flavors were nothing to write home about. The vanilla/ chocolate cupcake's frosting had butter chunks in it...not mixed good enough.
