Don't know what changed from the first time we tried the cupcakes, this time we got the budget day old BOGO special and they were yummers! Hubbs agreed they were very good! I liked the Chocolate with peanut butter frosting best, Hubbs liked the chocolate on chocolate! The last time we tried the cupcakes the frosting had an awful chemical taste, gone was the weird taste, cake moist and frosting was creamy. The peanut butter was more a hint of peanut butter making it tasty and not overwhelming. They have a $8.99 four pack mini pupcakes for your fur babies, owner let me know they're carrot cake with peanut butter frosting.

YUM! Stopped here because of the name alone. Super cute, and hadn't planned on doing anything but looking. Ended up buying a lemon drop cupcake. I'm not a fan of icing especially when cupcake shops have a tendency to mask dry cupcakes with tons of it, the cupcakes here only have a small amount, which was perfect for it. The filling was great, lots of lemon flavor, and the cupcake itself... Super moist and yummo! Will be swinging by this little gem next time I'm in the area to try a new flavor!

They did an amazing job making my nieces birthday cake with just a couple of days notice. The cake was so delicious, everyone loved it. It was a vanilla cake, moist texture with fresh strawberry filling. I would definitely recommend them for your events.

The cupcakes are good. The cakes are a bit on the pricey side but still worth it. My only issue is the guy that works there. I've been a few times and he seems like it's a bother to him if you are not ready to tell him what you want. Last time, I sent my husband and sister to pick up 9 cupcakes and they weren't even told about the discount for the dozen. They paid the same amount for 9 cupcakes than they would've paid for the dozen.

We stumbled across this little shop on our way to Elk Grove. Tried a Lemon Drop cupcake. So moist and lemony. The frosting was not too sweet which I love. The person at the front was super helpful! Will definitely be back

Ordered custom cookies (Vasectomy themed) and they were above and beyond my expectations. Not only were they beautiful and hilarious to look at-- they tasted delicious too!!!! I called them a few days before I needed them and managed to squeeze me in. I really appreciated it, but if I can give any advice- give the business more than a week!. Custom cookie was $4.50each I believe the cost depends on the design.

I ordered two big cakes a little less than a week in advance. I send a picture of what I wanted and the cake decorator did such a great job of recreating it. I appreciate the amazing work they did to create such beautiful cakes that were statement pieces of the party. Not only was the cake pretty, the cake was so moist and scrumptious. The entire cake was gone at the end of the party because it was so good.

We went last week to get some dessert cupcakes, first time here. We ended up getting four different cupcakes, one cookies and cream, lemon drop, wedding cake and birthday cake. All the cupcakes were soooo tasty. The bread was fluffy and full of flavor, all the frostings were so tasty too. The cupcakes cost about $5 each, but they're a pretty good size and the flavor is worth the price. There weren't many people inside at the time and we were serviced pretty fast and the cashier was very pleasant. I'm not too much of a dessert person or cake person, but I definitely enjoyed these cupcakes. My personal favorite was the cookies and cream, but all four were really good. Definitely recommend, and we will be back for sure to try some more types.

Had their cupcakes and vanilla bean ice cream. Everything was delicious. Stopped by after myy neighbor gave me a mini caramel macchiato cupcake. I guess they have seasonal stuff or they can make special orders of stuff you've had. Cause they didn't have the macchiato anymore when I went but they said they could make it. Owners are super sweet people and very patient. Definitely a go to place for cupcakes and ice cream. read more

Went here on a whim and it ended up being featured on the cupcake wars! Lol! Didn't even know that. Got a scoop of the cookies and cream and it was BOMB. I agree with the others about the service. I've been there twice and called in also and always receiving a rude lazy person that seems like he just doesn't want to be there. Wasn't even helpful at all and makes you wonder why the owners would hire a person like that or maybe it is the owner. I will take my business elsewhere. read more

What a great place! The owner is friendly and fits right in with our small town vibe! The cupcake was so good!! The cake was spongy and the frosting tasted like something my grandma would've made, which is amazing! I loved that nothing tastes like commercial food, how refreshing is that?! First off this is a great addition to Ripon! The owners are kind, attentive, and very jovial. The carrot cake cupcakes are to die for and the cream cheese icing is one of the best I have had. It is not overly sweet like many out there. My daughter had the red velvet cupcake and she said it was the best cupcake she has ever had too...she is picky and is a cupcake critic! I about fell over when I had the small batch fresh made daily ice cream, the salted caramel was just amazing. As far as these other reviews I am really disappointed by how mean people can be...ummm the grocery store frosting is disgusting, but that is not the case here. And the decor will only improve in time, I could see giving less stars if an establishment wasn't clean but a new business that's is sparse and clean? Really people you are not from HGTV (insert eye roll). This IS a family establishment, owned by a family with kids, so having their kids there should not be an issue at all behind the counter or not, it's not a damn bar! Do yourself a favor and indulge here when you have a craving for a delicious confectionery treat!!!! I would gladly pay $4 for a delicious delectable treat here!!!! read more

Truly the best. Their cupcakes are to die for. I haven't had one that was what I would consider not good. Even their ice cream is amazing. The owners are the sweetest people ever. He's even recognized me outside of the shop and come over to say hello. I cannot speak highly enough. If I could give 6 stars I'd give 7. Thank you so much!!! read more

Cupcakes tasted soooo good! So moist! Yes, I thought they were pricey but after talking to whom I believe was the owner of the place and the reason behind the scenes and the purpose of SmallCakes I would buy a $4 cupcake all day long! Hope it is successful for him and his adorable lil guy I got the honor of giving a high five to today! Hands down the most disgusting cake I have ever ordered! They served an unbaked cake! Imagine cutting into unbaked batter! My 9 year old daughter ended up with a cake that was dangerous to serve to our guests and had no cake on her birthday! When I called them to notify the owner of what had happened, she refused to give a refund despite the fact that I showed her the unbaked cake! Ripon, Manteca, Modesto communities beware....health department has been contacted and provided with evidence of unbaked products being sold! Health department informed me that this was not their first complaint. read more

I'm bummed to say I've never had a cupcake from here. My complaint is that every time I go by, they are closed! They have specific hours but the 4 times I've gone by, they have been closed much earlier. Apparently if they sell out of the cupcakes, they close up early. Not sure why you wouldn't keep making more so it would last through the day or close to the end of the day. For those who work during the day and aren't getting home til after 6, it's almost impossible to get over to try one if they close up early. Stinks cause I've heard great things about this place but I guess I won't ever know unless a miracle happens and I'm able to go at opening to get a shot at getting one. Lol read more

I've been waiting to try the gluten free cupcakes, but they are not consistently available. Finally I was able to get a couple and was disappointed. The cake seemed under baked, almost raw in the middle. The frosting was too sweet and almost inedible. Picked up a couple regular cupcakes for my husband. I got one of the current holiday flavors for Christmas. Just delicious. The gingerbread flavor got me in the mood to do some more Christmas shopping! Haha. But nope and they don't even add enough mix ins. Just terrible. I suggest you go to an actual Cold Stone Store. Bad and unwelcoming service, no welcome in or nothing!

I bought my girlfriend 7 small cupcakes. she really likes this bakery. I went for the first time when they opened the business. Every time I need to show up with sweetness I stop here. For the most part my girlfriend is extremely happy with the choices I make for her. I like the flavor of the cupcakes. Not too overly sweet which is good thing. The frosting is very sweet. I stopped in for cupcakes and they were sold out. The owners are friendly and they explained that they make cupcakes throughout the day. I liked the idea because knowing they sold out speaks to their quality and also left me to assume their cupcakes are always fresh. They had one order of pup cakes which I bought for my dog.
