They were jammin (as usual) but pretty organized at turning tables. Had to wait about 40 minutes. Walked the docks and looked at boats. Good vibe. Has the fried shrimp platter. They were cooked nicely with not too much breading. With the sides it would be enough to share. Also a burger which was good. It's a beer and mimosa bar so no mixed drinks. Lovely seaside meal! We were staying on Hatteras Island and came over on the ferry---not sure of where to eat. Happened across this place and it was PERFECT! We only had about 35 minutes in Ocracoke due to some poor planning and ferry schedules, but we wanted to make the most of our visit. We headed here since it was closest to the ferry drop off and the staff was amazing! We explained we were on a time crunch and we had drinks and a snack in just a few minutes. Cute little restaurant right on the waterway. We snagged a spot at the bar for the 2 of us and was greeted shortly after. I was excited to see they had mimosas at their drink specialty. $7 for one or $21 for a pitcher. They had many different flavors, I mixed peach and strawberry together. I loved that it came in a cup instead of a small champagne glass. We ordered the blackened ahi wrap and chicken wrap. Both were absolutely amazing, yes we shared, especially after I took a bite of his wrap. The curly fries tasted like they were made in house which I really liked. This is definitely quite a touristy location. When we went it was really busy (1:30 p.m.) and had to wait 30 minutes for a table. The menu is not very broad and is mostly bar food. What makes this restaurant so popular despite the underwhelming menu is definitely the location. You will be seated outside on the docks nearly right on the water. The view was pleasant, but along with sitting on the water outside there were many lurking birds and flies. The chicken tenders were very thick and mostly breading. The wraps were good and the burgers decent. This is the type of place I would typically recommend if you are in a pinch, but there would likely be a wait. If you are looking to have a few drinks and enjoy bar food: this is the place for you! read more

Awesome location right on the water, you can't get closer to the ocean if you tried! Service was pretty good, the waitress made us feel a bit uncomfortable with having our dog with us despite being dog friendly. Otherwise she was pleasant enough and attentive. The food was really good, we had a wide variety of selections from the menu: hush puppies, salad, chicken sandwich, tuna wrap, and the drum fish special. Food was fairly priced and tasty. I was given the wrong side with my meal but was promptly brought the correct food when the server realized the mistake. The general manager also came over to check on us, she was super friendly and made up for the weird situation mentioned above with our server. Usually restaurants in tourist locations by the water can get away with below average food but this wasn't the case. Thanks for a nice lunch! read more

We were here for drinks and apps mid-day. The young hostess became angry when we asked her for a closer table on the water which 3 were open vs the table in back. We had shrimp 1 lb and 2 orders of hush puppies. We had bees served in there plastic cups which we kept and kids had ice t. The nice thing about this was that all the fishing boats were coming in we were able to see what they brought in. The staff was very friendly. On the island of Ocracoke there are only a handful of restaurants. SmacNallys is a good one. Good food, excellent atmosphere where you can watch the boats and the ferry's in and out of Silver Lake. You can see the fisherman's latest catch, talk about fresh seafood! Service was excellent! I had the fried shrimp basket. Large portions, great flavor. Highly recommend! The server was knowledgeable about the menu and a pleasure to talk with. The rum punch was great too! We understand these folks make their living off of tourist so don't hesitate to spend your money. Well worth the time spent and the experience you'll have. Leave your watch at home. All you need to know is it's 5 o'clock somewhere! read more

It took 2 tries to get a seat here--the Saturday afternoon crowd had slammed the place so I thought I'd try Sunday lunch instead. So glad I came back--it was delicious. Simple bar offerings: canned and bottled beers and more varieties of mimosas than I'd ever seen. I got a corona and enjoyed the harbor views. Ordered the salad bowl with fried shrimp, after a woman I talked to on the beach suggested it. It was fantastic. Shrimp was cooked just right--not too much breading. And the mix of fruit, nuts, and veggies in the salad was delicious. The only bummer was when a rainstorm popped up suddenly. Thankfully I had a seat at the covered bar that was opposite the wind direction. But it was quite a scene for a few minutes till it passed! That's part of the island experience. The location makes this place. The best view of all the restaurants on Ocracoke, especially at sunset. Beer is served in a souvineer cup that serves as proof you have been to the island. We so wanted to live this place.... We ordered the calamari as an appetizer. The flavor was good, breading was good no great but sadly it was not hot. The Oyster Po Boys were much the same . Oysters were breaded well and had fabulous flavor. Not chewy just the perfect bite. However, it was served on a cheap hamburger bun like Mikey Ds and both the oysters and accompanying fries were barely warm. This review would have been much better if only the food had been served when it was hot. One great thing the place does have going for it is the view. We did catch a beautiful sunset! read more
