    Fried green tomatoes

My name is Michele from Maryland. My husband and I have been coming to Ocracoke for 4 years. Our favorite restaurant is Dajio's. the first year we came we met the owners, they were so sweet, humble, warm and extremely welcoming. The staff have always been very accommodating, the atmosphere is awesome. You get to choose what atomosphere you want; either fine dining, patio, bar/music porch or outside on comfy outdoor furniture. We always eat here a few times during our stay. My absolute favorite is fried green tomatoes amongst others such as calamari (cooked to perfection), salads, fish dinner, etc. the other night they had a special grouper dinner, it was out of this world, came with string beans and garlic mash potatoes; i am hoping they have it again before we leave if not there are plenty of other option.

This place was the bomb 15 of us ate for around $300 and every single thing was absolutely delicious. The Dajio Banana Bread is A DO NOT MISS!!!!! Sit on the patio and ask for Brandon as your waiter he is phenomenal !! Food came out hot. He got every order right and was Johnny on the spot for everything we needed couldn't ask for anything better. Brandon is the man.

If we had a different server and a different table, this would have been a four star review. After we got seated we didn't see our server for about 10 minutes. Then he disappeared long enough that another table got sat beside us, ordered their food and GOT THEIR food before he took our order. Then I'm not sure if he let our food sit in the back or not, but our neighbors FINISHED THEIR FOOD before we even got ours. I had planned on getting the fried banana bread after reading all the reviews here but service was just so slow and bad we didn't want to spend another 40 minutes waiting on dessert. We got seated by the kitchen door and I could feel the wind from it every time someone went in and out of it...probably 100's of times in the hour+ we were there. It made me very anxious and nervous as well as exhausted from the constant slamming open and shut inches behind me. I would have asked to be moved but all the tables were taken. The food itself was very good. My compliments to the chefs! I got the crab cakes with green beans and swapped out the coleslaw for creamed corn. The crab cakes were crispy on the edges, had a nice crunch from the celery, and a good amount of crab meat. The creole sauce went nicely with it and the green beans. The creamed corn was very interesting, not something I'd expected. Lots of corn chunks and flavor--very well done. My girlfriend got the special which was a blackened drum with crab and pecan relish. It was flat out amazing. Our server was a ghost, other servers took care of refilling our drinks. We had finished and those servers had bussed our table and waited to order dessert but he never came back in over 20 minutes so when he finally did we just asked for the check which took another 15 minutes to get, then process. We would definitely come out again and give it another try, but no way I'd ever sit near that kitchen door ever again. And if we got the same server I'd probably ask for another.

Absolutely loved this place! Lived up to the hype on every article about ocracoke island. We ordered the crab empanadas, which was so full of flavor and stuffing. It was on a bed of green chile sauce. We also got the beet&butternut squash salad. Then for entrees, we got the Dajio signature burger and the fish tacos. Everything was so wonderfully cooked and seasoned. Will 100% come back.

Absolutely incredible, came highly recommended by a semi local. Off season and an early dinner, we were seated right away. Our waiter, Nathan was so good, excellent service and fun. We started with fried green tomatoes for an appetizer, they were delicious, a bbq topping and pimento cheese, it was very unique in a good way. Two of had the Strio Steak and fried shrimp special. The steaks were perfectly cooked and the shrimp incredibly delicious, with that came green beans and some of the best mashed potatoes. For dessert I had the Fig cake and friends got, key lime pie and coconut cream pie, we all raved about it, leaving with an extremely full stomach. On top of that the cocktails....amazing will definitely be back and highly recommended.

    Ahi Poke nachos

The ahi nachos tuna was very fresh, wontons and scallions crunchy with the touch of sesame flavor. It was amazing. Outdoor seating was nice for the end of March . Soft breeze with sunshine. Our waiter, Tyler was very nice and informative of the menu and specials. The grouper special was just ok for the price, mashed potted are good. Gnocchi sauce was very creamy, really good. The clam chowder tasted more like a potato, bacon soup. Overall, very nice place. I would definitely come back

Dajio was recommended by our bed and breakfast; we are staying nearby for 1 evening and looking for a good spot for dinner. This was a great option! We really enjoyed our fried green tomatoes. Truly wonderful and so fresh! After that, my husband and I shared a plate of blackened shrimp. The portion was generous, and we really enjoyed the shrimp and fries equally with a delicious remoulade. Finally, we ended with the fried banana bread dessert which was absolutely fabulous. This was a great recommendation while visiting Ocracoke!

This year they added an outdoor tiki bar and it has great views of the sound. So, if you come early for your reservation or want to stay for a few cocktails after dinner, this is the perfect place. The main restaurant has both inside seating with AC/heat and seating that is mostly enclosed but is more like outside seating with large windows that are generally open when the weather permits....not a bad seat anywhere you sit! During the summer months they host great acoustic guitar performances that can be enjoyed along with your dinner. This is the place to go to in the Avon-Buxton-Frisco-Hatteras area for fine dining and well worth the reasonable prices. During our visit earlier this week we ordered a kids meal, Elk chops, lamb, and the filet for this in our group and everything was cooked to perfection. The Chef was helpful at making recommendations on how the Elk should be cooked and the recommendation was spot on! If you're in the OBX this summer, put the Inn on your dinner rotation---especially if looking for a more upscale experience.

We began with an appetizer, the Big Ass Nachos. It's a sheet pan full of nachos, cheese dip, chopped chicken, beef and ham along with black beans, peppers, corn and more. The serving was so big that we had to take some home. My wife then chose the Barcos burger with fries while Rick got the tuna poke bites and an Asian salad. My pick was the beef and bean burrito with nachos. We each ordered the key lime pie for dessert. The food is amazing and there's so much of it. We also were introduced to Tammy's coworkers and her manager Chris and one of the owners, David. Everything went superbly and we got excellent service from Tammy and Patty. The food features a lot of Latin/Asian flavors, but has a seafood focus which I was very happy about being by the water after all. I highly recommend a dish with their seared tuna whether it's the captains plate or with the Asian chopped salad. Also, you gotta try the big ass nachos. The name does not lie. It comes out as a huge platter of yumminess. Messy and tasty. Absolutely meant to be shared. I just like that the menu has a mixture of light and heavy, healthy and more indulgent offerings- whatever your mood. They also do a Sunday brunch which I am eager to try. The inside is nice and bright with windows all around so even inside you can get the water vibes. It is not a huge place so it fills you quickly. The staff and owners are very nice and attentive. They also give each person at the table a small piece of mint chocolate with your check. A nice touch. Just has a nice vibe all around.

Didn't happen to us, but when we arrived, there was indeed a train sitting there, and some cars in front, well, they weren't going anywhere anytime soon. Inside is all vibes, kind of set up like an old pharmacy, but slinging cocktails instead, and I have to say, the cocktails were very tasty and well priced. All the tables were full of friend and family groups playing board games and enjoying various flatbreads and libations. Seems like the kind of place the local neighborhoods enjoy and spend quite a bit of time at. At the moment, can't remember the names of the cocktails we got, its been a few months. But I do remember the toasts. This place doesnt have a kitchen in a traditional sense, more like a prep area where they bring ingredients together (that I imagine are made off site) and toast it up to present you with some pretty unique combos and flavors. Honestly, a great way around some of the health code restrictions that start to apply to more in-depth operations while still having a robust menu. We ordered a variety for the 4 of us, as this was dinner that evening. Gettin Figgy with it was a favorite, as were the Pig and the Goat, and the Reuben. Their version of a Cubano was alright, but as could be the case you'd imagine, the pork was a little dry. The caprese was the only one we got that seemed to be a universal thumbs down, the avocado spread wasn't working with the other ingredients. Definitely would come back for some of these toasts, and drinks!
