We stopped in for a cocktail and it was so fun! Bailey, bartender, was super friendly and knowledgeable about the area. They have local brews on tap and some unique cocktail drinks. Loved the tiki aesthetic, we came at lunch so it was quite tame, I could see this place having a nightlife. For being a small tiki bar the cooking was really good. We just stopped in for some drinks and ended up chatting at length with the owner and one of the other servers. I had a margarita which was excellent and my wife had a Crush with fresh squeezed orange juice and she loved it. The only reason we didn't eat was we were looking for shrimp or fish and the current menu did not have that option. We were there in March and they were busy. The food we noticed for others came out fast and the kitchen looked organized. So don't hesitate opening the door and give this place a try. read more

This place is charming and has a lot of character! There's indoor and outdoor seating, and it's in a convenient spot - you can grab a bite there before taking the ferry to Ocracoke Island, or can hang here before heading back to the beach. They also have live music sometimes at night, which is a fun atmosphere. I usually order the chicken quesadillas and the pirate punch, but they have plenty of other sandwich and quesadilla options. Also, if you order a mixed drink, you'll get a collectible cup! Only downside to this place is that sometimes you'll walk in, and the tables aren't cleaned up from the previous guests. I think they might be a little understaffed, but otherwise it's worth checking out! read more

We were on our way to Hatteras, and I remembered that I thought the interior of the Wreck was so cute that I went into just take a photograph. But the owner was so nice. His name is Joel and asked us if he wanted to table edit, and his attitude made us sit down when we weren't going to and enjoy a cocktail and some smoke fish dip.. our waiter Matty promptly brought us our delicious smoked mahi-mahi, fish, dip, and orange crushes. What is not to like.. Beer and good food... I had the Cuban Sandwich and a couple of recommended beers... All very good.... The view is great if you set out side or at the right place in the bar... Inside is not very big, but a great place to grab a Beer and food. Personally I liked that the prices printed on their menu includes tax... Made paying with cash so much easier... We had been looking forward to going all week but we were quickly disappointed. We had a table of 9 and got a table at 8pm so that was good. We were promptly told that we would not receive table service but the 10 top next to us had table service and the 8 top that was seated after us had table service. Im guessing since we had kids they didn't want to deal with us and knew we would leave thinking they wouldn't have that kind headache late at night. Also no AC so it was 100° in there. read more

While vacationing in the Outer Banks, we popped down to Hatteras for the day and this was the only option for day drinking. We immediately felt like locals as we bantered with 2 of the best bartenders we have encountered on our many adventures, Sarah and Bailey. They were fun, friendly, informative, and gracious, and we wish we would have swung in sooner, as they closed an hour after we arrived. Not only was the alcohol to our liking, but the fish dip was delicious, as was the ham and cheese sandwich. So whether you want a cool, cozy atmosphere, good food, fun swag, or just the company of awesome bartenders, this is your place! By the way, they stay open late on Thursdays and have live entertainment on the deck (which we will be sure to schedule the next time we visit the OBX)! read more

Only reason why I'm giving this place one star is because of the food and the only reason why I liked the food was because I was hungry. Drinks are horrible, tasted like water mixed with kool aid and rum. Gave them a generous tip for a pretty big order and all I got back was sass. I nicely asked when my food would be ready and the hostess and kitchen staff were both unnecessarily rude about it. Only nice person working there was the teenage blonde girl. Thought I would have a great experience and be able to come back with some friends for a drink and music. Guess not. Not a good look for OBX, won't be coming back. Didn't even wear masks either. read more

The eggplant breading just fell off and was mushy. Tasted like a frozen eggplant parm. Garlic knots had a hard shell surrounding a doughy center. Every bite you can taste the garlic. The knots could use a bit more salt to enhance some of the garlic flavor but these were still good. The pizza is a bit of a mixed bag. While the crust and sauce are a bit generic and underwhelming the toppings and cheese make up for it to make a serviceable pie. Crust was your standard American chain pie with a thick enough crust but lacks any stability or flavor. Sauce is so generic it makes no impact on the pizza. The toppings are plentiful as well as the cheese and they are all of good quality. We had olives, onion, pepperoni, sausage, and mushrooms and it wasn't too much or too little. The only negative is with all the toppings and cheese, the pizza did get greasy. Overall an above average pizza for a very average looking one. They had no water cups so everyone had to get a soda. They also have a sign saying no bringing water bottles in so there isn't anyway to get water unless you want to purchase a bottle of water. While this pizza isn't top of the line, it will still satisfy your pizza needs.

This is a great little casual place to grab a sandwich and a cold drink. The beer selection is fantastic and the panini sandwiches are creative and delicious. Our kids love the beachy-tiki theme throughout the place. And the view of the marina and sound when sitting at the bar or outside at the picnic tables is amazing. We are frequent visitors to Hatteras and the OBX and have been to The Wreck several times. Service has always been prompt and attentive. If you are looking for a fancy restaurant, this is not it. But, if you are looking for a comfortable place to have a cold beer and a sandwich while waiting on the next ferry to Ocracoke or while taking a break from shopping or the beach, then this is the only place in Hatteras Village to go. read more

I was truly disappointed of the quality of service. One of the worst customer service, I experience so far in this area. On top of that they had advertised all over there restaurant drink options, and every mix drink we ask for they didn't have any and said they don't serve alcohol? Which is strange, please don't advertise items you don't have! read more

Good food. Prices are comparable to other restaurants in the area. Great beer, quick service, fun atmosphere and live music. We went in there and ordered nachos and the pannini's which were very excellent. Not sure about the last review, like I said cool atmosphere and basic menu if you want a quick bite to eat. read more

Stopped in for lunch for a quick to go order. The sandwich we got was the "TBG", for $9.75. The sandwich was good and came with a pickle spear and chips, which we weren't expecting so that was a nice surprise. Would eat a quick sandwich from here again. read more

Everyone loved their meal and commented on the generous portion sizes. Those of us who ordered the crab dishes were especially impressed by how much crab was included--they definitely don't skimp! From the food to the service, everything was excellent. We would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dinner, generous portions, and a fun atmosphere. The Chef was helpful at making recommendations on how the Elk should be cooked and the recommendation was spot on!
