My boys have joined other little league organizations in the Bronx and we were extremely disappointed with them. These other leagues (which will remain nameless) were very disorganized and very inconsiderate to parents and kids. As much as I hate to use the word, these other leagues were very ghetto, with coaches and kids improperly dressed for games and constantly cursing at each other and fighting with umpires, and parents acting the same way, and the baseball field in horrible conditions. Once we moved into the Castle Hill area, I put my boys into the Castle Hill Little League, and it has been a wonderful experience. First of all, the baseball field is gorgeous. When I heard that the field was maintained by volunteer parents and coaches, I was amazed. My youngest son says that it has dugouts like Yankee Stadium. My oldest son has games during the evening under the lights, which I enjoy watching. The managers and coaches have been very good to my boys, and all of the kids look like they are having fun. They have a huge baseball parade and carnival for the kids as well as other activities. What impresses me the most is the strict dress code for the players. Baseball players have to be in full uniform when entering and exiting the ballpark. They are not allowed to walk in with sandals and wear jewelry on the field. My boys take it upon themselves to wash their uniforms after games and be properly dressed to play in full uniform before entering the park without any nagging from me. As a mother of three sloppy boys, I found this to be very impressive. I highly recommend Castle Hill Little League if you are looking to for a little league for your child.

I saw a few games at "old" stadium back in the 1980's. I have fond memories of those teams which had stalwarts like Craig Nettles, Willie Randolph, Ron Guidry, Goose Gossage, and of course, Mr. October, Reggie Jackson. TBH, I was very impressed overall with my experience when the Yanks played and subsequently crushed, the Rockies on 9/10/26. Other cities need to pay attention to the transportation options to get here. For the majority of folks, we take the subway to the 161st stop; but there are also buses and I did notice other fans taking ride shares (Uber/Lyft). And for a large urban area, the bag policy is QUITE generous. They allow fans to bring in a bag of 16 inches by 16 inches by 8 inches dimensions. Washington Nationals ballpark, by comparison has a very draconian policy since that club wants you to pay $8 for a bottle of water and $15 for a hotdog!!! My brother and I paid $18 for a 24 oz beer - which if you think about it is $9/beer and isn't bad for a MLB ball park. You pay that much for a beer in most major cities. But being back in the house of Babe Ruth, Don Mattingly, Derek Jeter, MarianoRivera, and now Aaron Judge is just a magical experience. Our "cheap" seats of $30 in the upper deck along the first base line, still provided a great vantage point. Our section erupted with Anthony Volpe hit a grand slam in the 7th inning and sent most of the fans exiting the stadium. Every baseball fan at some point in their lives, needs to make a pilgrimage to the Bronx and experience a game at one of the truly great stadiums in the world.

Now, as for the concert itself if you didn't make it to one of the three nights at Yankee Stadium you truly missed something special. I mean, on night one, he opened the show by bringing out Beyoncé to perform Can't Knock the Hustle. For those who get it, get it! The energy was unreal, the surprises kept coming and it was one of those events I'll be talking about for years to come. An unforgettable experience from start to finish!

The Footy referee was more focused on reprimanding her for expressing her vocal outrage that a foul wasn't called. Mind you, she had a fractured cheek bone, bruised ribs, and a concussion. The referee laughed in her face. The other team faced no accountability. The result - she was suspended. Not like she can play any time soon due to her injuries, which may require surgery. Like other reviewers have noted, the refs can be biased, and that bias DOES result in injury. Don't join this league if you value safety.

I've played in these leagues for over a year now, so it kind of hurts to leave a bad review since…read moremy time hasn't been completely awful. However, as some reviews have pointed out, the refs can be very bad and make very biased calls. I've been ran into full speed in the back on breakaways, challenges that could've seriously injured me, only for the ref to call it a fair challenge. Meanwhile, if I challenge someone shoulder to shoulder in a fair play, it's called a foul if my opponent flails enough and looks at the ref. If I were you, I'd avoid Bedford Armory and Lower East Side, where I had experiences with those bad refs. The Brooklyn Bridge one was ok maybe 30% of the time (literally gave me a yellow card for defending his call while ignoring the entire opposing team hollering at him for it). The officials tend to ref the same fields every week. You risk getting injured due to the random nature of their officiating and inability to control games. I'm not sure if it's due to improper training or bias towards certain groups of players and favor towards others as some have pointed out. Whatever it is, it is completely unacceptable for me personally. My dad tore his ACL playing in his adulthood -- I don't want that to happen to me. I may try one more season if a good discount ever rolls around again, but I think I'll see how the refs and players are like around the other NYC leagues afterwards before deciding to come back ever again. It is what it is. I don't expect this review will be received by ownership well, but idrc at this point. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. League did not do anything serious as far as getting information on the incident, despite someone named Mike even promising to call me back. Over a month (and one surgery) later, I have yet to receive a call. League office will give you lip service but doesn't actually want to follow up on anything if it means more work for them to do. Referees in this league will consistently ignore calls and even basic stuff (like cleaning wet surfaces) if it means they can get home earlier. League rules aren't consistent or actually enforced; my team filled with many beginners had to go against experienced players from a higher division multiple times. When I told a league official of this, they simply shrugged their shoulders. Scorekeepers often gave points to the wrong players. All in all, the title might say "professionals," but this league is anything but that. For your own safety, and sanity, avoid giving them your money.
