There are plenty of activities available, here, including several racket ball courts, several basketball courts, a baseball/softball field, a swimming pool (not sure if active), a nice gazebo, and plenty of BBQ spots. It feels totally safe (during daylight), and looks like it's well utilized by its community. I don't live nearby, but would definitely go more often if I had easier access.

It's quiet, clean and calm which is very different from the 12pm craziness you encounter when young kids take over. I have been known to yell not so nice (extreme profanity!!!) things when someone blows a kiss or does the snake hiss thing common to some Bronx men, but that still hasn't altered my perspective of the park. It seems safe and good for jogging. No complaints....as of yet

It has a great set up BUT the execution of entering for a concert was REALLY REALLY disorganized. Me and my family sat in SECTION 420 but that was by far one of the best seats ever. You get to see all access of the field and the background of the train passing by. Jay-Z did PHENOMENAL and SOLD OUT!!

However, it was organized and the lines moved fast. I was there on night 2 so there were no delays or mishaps that I witnessed. We went through metal detectors and then walked right in. The stadium is really beautiful with so many Yankee pictures and paraphernalia. They had a variety of food and drink stands. I made sure I ate before I came. However, I did purchase a bottle of water and a pretzel for $20. The line to get your snacks was a longer wait than the line to get inside the stadium. I had nosebleed seats in section 400 but I was in row 1and I had an amazing view since no one was in front of me. Surprisingly, there were a lot of empty seats in my area. The seats were shockingly comfortable because my knees weren't in pain. On our way out, I loved the walk down ramp like walkway which is better than stairs and allots more people to exit. I would like to return to see an actual Yankee game and check out more of the stadium which was hard to do at this concert.

Tremont Park is a medium-size green space in the middle of Tremont neighborhood in north-western…read moreBronx. It borders to the north with E Tremont Avenue, to the east with Arthur Avenue, to the south with E 175th Street, and to the west with Third Avenue. On the north-west corner there's an ornate staircase that climbs to some grassy fields. In 1995 the park was renovated, and several additions were made: chess/checkers tables, a baseball/softball field, spray showers, racquetball courts, and some new trees. The place is peaceful... I was here last weekend and there was barely anybody around. You would think that those amenities would attract locals, but it's just not happening. You can tell that, despite its huge potential, this park has been neglected by the city. The staircase is heavily damaged, the grass is a couple of feet high in some places, and there's a feeling of partial abandonment strolling it's paths. It's a pity, because it could look awesome. The close vicinity of this park with commercial and touristic Arthur Avenue could play a vital role in resuscitating its usage. However, the Italian Arthur Avenue is several blocks north, and a few minutes walk from here.

The true ballers come out early on the weekends. There was once a time where park goers could control the lights at the court. Unfortunately, those days are long gone. However, they have upgraded the backboards and rims. Gone are the metal backboards and single rims. Today we play on fiberglass boards with breakaway rims. They just need to add some shade around the courts...

This is a huge park so there is something for everyone. There are some street parking options with…read morefree parking nearby so it's fairly accessible. There are a bunch of fields for baseball and soccer. There are two playgrounds; one for older kids and one for toddlers. The toddler playground is large with two jungle gyms, swings, and a sprinkler which would be great in the summer heat. Walking paths are paved and well maintained. Grass areas are clean.

My boys have joined other little league organizations in the Bronx and we were extremely disappointed with them. These other leagues (which will remain nameless) were very disorganized and very inconsiderate to parents and kids. As much as I hate to use the word, these other leagues were very ghetto, with coaches and kids improperly dressed for games and constantly cursing at each other and fighting with umpires, and parents acting the same way, and the baseball field in horrible conditions. Once we moved into the Castle Hill area, I put my boys into the Castle Hill Little League, and it has been a wonderful experience. First of all, the baseball field is gorgeous. When I heard that the field was maintained by volunteer parents and coaches, I was amazed. My youngest son says that it has dugouts like Yankee Stadium. My oldest son has games during the evening under the lights, which I enjoy watching. The managers and coaches have been very good to my boys, and all of the kids look like they are having fun. They have a huge baseball parade and carnival for the kids as well as other activities. What impresses me the most is the strict dress code for the players. Baseball players have to be in full uniform when entering and exiting the ballpark. They are not allowed to walk in with sandals and wear jewelry on the field. My boys take it upon themselves to wash their uniforms after games and be properly dressed to play in full uniform before entering the park without any nagging from me. As a mother of three sloppy boys, I found this to be very impressive. I highly recommend Castle Hill Little League if you are looking to for a little league for your child.

Wow! I had no clue this park was up in the Bronx…read more I was recently here for a 5K race event. Easy to get to from Manhattan taking the 2 or 5 train to 174th street station. It's just a short walk from there. The park itself is huge and offers a lot to see and do. Baseball/Softball fields, tennis courts and center, playgrounds, basketball courts, pool, handball courts, a lake, BBQ areas, and spacious areas. We ran a course along paved paths throughout which offered nice views. This park is so green! Another nice feature is the Greenway paths here for bicycles and pedestrians which weaves through the park. I feel the park needs just a bit more TLC from the parks dept and community. It's a nice place to spend some time in during the day.
