The ambiance is nice... casual but clean... they even have swings for chairs at 2 tables.. adorable. Our server was so sweet and she really served us well. But after eating at some fine restaurants with homemade melt in your mouth pasta, this cannot compete. If you are looking for general pasta, this would be fine. I had the fave bean soup which was delicious but the greens in it were too hard to cut and eat. We also ordered the fried zucchini flower... yes I understood it would be fried but it is such a delicate food, I didn't think it would be heavily coated and cooked to a crisp. Too heavy a preparation for such a beautifully delicate vegetable. My friend loved the Norma, so that must have been good. To be fair, we have been going to top restaurants in Milano... this was a last minute late night snack/meal choice near our hotel. Again, staff was great. Just not my cup of tea. read more

The food here was decent. It's definitely a more rustic vibe and as the first dinner upon landing, it definitely helped with jet lag haha. Along with the bread and cover charge, they give a small little platter of antipasti with sun-dried tomatoes, and other accruements. The lentil soup was really filling with barley and croutons on top. we also got a potato cream pasta with seafood, which was really unique since I haven't ever had anything like it before. The highlight of the meal was probably the meatballs because the acidity of the tomato sauce was able to counteract the other two dishes. Since coming to Italy, I've been kind of confused on whether to pay at the register or whether the check is being brought to you, but for this restaurant, you go to the register to pay. read more

Came for lunch one day but they were full. A testament to the quality of food here. We made a reservation online for dinner. Everything we had was delicious and very fresh. The waitress was very kind and friendly. Great atmosphere. Try the basil liquor, fresh and a great cleanse to the palate. We were recommended to come here from a local shopkeeper and she was right, it is different than most Italian restaurants. Definitely fine here for lunch or dinner. No regrets. read more

Food was average. The Fiori di Zucca was soft you can tell it was precooked and then warmed up in an oven or microwave, there was zero crunch to the batter. The pasta was average and not worth the cost. Service was horrific. Young girl in tennis shoes, tattoos on her arms and pony tail was rudely yelling at us to close the door as we were walking in. How do you close the door as you are stepping inside the restaurant as a party of 4? She served our antipasti with our meal and said she asked us if we wanted it all together, she asked no such thing. In our two days in Milan we ate at three different restaurants. This was by far the best and the only one I would ever consider returning to! The clean modern decor is inviting, fun, and even whimsical. A couple of the tables don't have chairs, but instead have swings hung from the ceiling. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I always like when the kitchen is exposed to view as the owners are confident that all is as it should be. The food is inspired by Sicilian and southern Italian dishes emphasizing seafood. The menu is limited to a few selections in each category which I see as a positive thing. Far better to do a few dishes really well than to attempt many and do a mediocre job. The wine list is limited, but our waitress recommended a white that paired perfectly with our meal. My wife and I shared an appetizer of fried chickpea fritters which were sublime. Crispy without being oily with cheese, herbs, and arugula. They were so good we wanted to order more, but restrained ourselves. My wife had the Paccheri Neri which was a thick rustic squid ink pasta served with swordfish and a cherry tomato sauce. The ebon pasta highlighted the fish and tomatoes. I had the Monti Iblei which is paccheri pasta with pistachio and sicilian almond cream, served with stracciatella and prawn tartare (raw fish). The contrast between the warm pasta and sauce, and the cool prawn tartar made for a very interesting bite. The paccheri pasta served in both of these dishes was very filling. We debated the interesting dessert offerings v and considered ordering different ones or one to share, but the owner recommended two Cannolo Scomposto. It was a good decision, because I'm not sure my wife would have shared. Chunks of cannoli shells, chocolate chips, pistachios, and pastry cream in a small bowl. A great end to a meal. So good food creativity prepared, good service, reasonable prices, attractive setting...you should eat here if you are in Milan. read more

It took 20 minutes to order, 4 minutes to receive the food. We ordered Norma (aubergine in tomato sauce) and Tricolore (pistachio pesto with one shrimp). Norma was better than Tricolore as the pasta was cooked. Tricolore was not even warm and the flavour was bland. They have loads of horse meat dishes if you want to try that. All in all I wouldn't recommend this place as I think it's overrated but maybe we ordered the "wrong" dishes. I will not go back to find out. read more

I am used to the level of service that you can expect while visiting Italy (I am a dual citizen) which is slow-paced, less attentive, VERY different than dining out in America. I suspect that this is because as Americans servers work hard to earn their tips, because they make a lower wage. Whereas in Italy, servers make a "livable" wage and do not receive tips as part of their culture. However, this dining experience has from the moment we entered has been even worse than what I have come to expect when dining out in Italy. Found this place on tripadvisor as a group of 3 were looking for delicious food with manageable price tag, cozy environment, and no wait on a Saturday night. Slow Sud was perfect from the moment we walked in! A manager made us feel welcome, gave us a table and menus right away, and walked us through it, explaining that the menu was based on southern Italy's cuisine. Everything we ordered ranged from great to delicious, every server was friendly and attentive, and the ambience was lovely! Here's what we had: Insolia wine - lovely Sicilian white! Caponata - delicious if you love eggplant and have never had this Sicilian staple, I recommend it. Eggplant Parmesan jar appetizer - AMAZING - we practically licked the jar clean! It was good - clearly popular with a work crowd (even though it's a sit-down lunch. God I love the Italians) I got there about 2pm on a Thursday and it was still pretty packed, but it thinned out not long after I sat down. High amount of chat during peak hours, but if I was with a friend we still would have been able to talk comfortably. My first waitress was pretty rushed but I got my order in within a reasonable amount of time - but then when I got my bottle of water it took a while to catch someone's eye and get a glass to go with it. Second waitress a bit more approachable and it seemed easier to get her attention if I needed it. I had swordfish rolled with parma ham (maybe?) and cheese, in breadcrumbs and baked alongside a salad of orange and fennel. Definitely not going to say it was bad, I ate the whole thing and was pretty satisfied, but it didn't blow my socks off and I was a little disappointed the majority of the menu was taken up with pastas. I was kind of hoping for something more veggie-laden, and nary a salad in sight. Easy to have lunch alone here, there were plenty of two-toppers and it definitely didn't feel like a date spot. Casual enough, no intimidation of a white tablecloth, but still good food. Good amount of light coming in from the front windows, straightforward decor that was pleasant, neither cheap nor overdone. The street is just off of more main areas and so it can be hard to notice the place until you're right on top of it (I think this is a good sign considering it's still so busy) Also, the menu is constantly in flux, which is a major plus in my book. read more

This place has the slowest service in the world. Took 20 minutes to give us the menu, another 20 to get our order and then 30 more to give us our food, which was extremely bland btw. A friend and I ordered the nuova pasta which was very distasteful (lazily prepared and way too much cheese) and we needed gelato after to cleanse it out.
