    Panelle -chickpea fritters
    Chris S.

In our two days in Milan we ate at three different restaurants. This was by far the best and the only one I would ever consider returning to! The clean modern decor is inviting, fun, and even whimsical. A couple of the tables don't have chairs, but instead have swings hung from the ceiling. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I always like when the kitchen is exposed to view as the owners are confident that all is as it should be. The food is inspired by Sicilian and southern Italian dishes emphasizing seafood. The menu is limited to a few selections in each category which I see as a positive thing. Far better to do a few dishes really well than to attempt many and do a mediocre job. The wine list is limited, but our waitress recommended a white that paired perfectly with our meal. My wife and I shared an appetizer of fried chickpea fritters which were sublime. Crispy without being oily with cheese, herbs, and arugula. They were so good we wanted to order more, but restrained ourselves. My wife had the Paccheri Neri which was a thick rustic squid ink pasta served with swordfish and a cherry tomato sauce. The ebon pasta highlighted the fish and tomatoes. I had the Monti Iblei which is paccheri pasta with pistachio and sicilian almond cream, served with stracciatella and prawn tartare (raw fish). The contrast between the warm pasta and sauce, and the cool prawn tartar made for a very interesting bite. The paccheri pasta served in both of these dishes was very filling. We debated the interesting dessert offerings v and considered ordering different ones or one to share, but the owner recommended two Cannolo Scomposto. It was a good decision, because I'm not sure my wife would have shared. Chunks of cannoli shells, chocolate chips, pistachios, and pastry cream in a small bowl. A great end to a meal. So good food creativity prepared, good service, reasonable prices, attractive setting...you should eat here if you are in Milan.

Norma (aubergine in tomato sauce). Tricolore (pistachio pesto with one shrimp)

It took 20 minutes to order, 4 minutes to receive the food. We ordered Norma (aubergine in tomato sauce) and Tricolore (pistachio pesto with one shrimp). Norma was better than Tricolore as the pasta was cooked. Tricolore was not even warm and the flavour was bland. They have loads of horse meat dishes if you want to try that. All in all I wouldn't recommend this place as I think it's overrated but maybe we ordered the "wrong" dishes. I will not go back to find out.

Busy during lunch hour - make a reservation. Delicious pasta cooked to perfection. Pasta is al dente. All the food is traditional Sicilian cooking.

    Exciting dessert menu!

Terrible service and the food was flavorless. Don't waste your time or money here. Milan has much better options.

Along with the bread and cover charge, they give a small little platter of antipasti with sun-dried tomatoes, and other accruements.

I chose this restaurant on our last night in Milan because I wanted one last good pizza or pasta dish. It was a Friday night around 8:30 PM so the wait took a little longer for a table to open up for 6 people. The manager saw that we were wearing matching jerseys and he gave us some glasses of champagne while we waited for a table to become available. I thought that was very kind of him. We sat down after about 20 mins and ordered our food. Everyone in the group ordered either pizza or pasta. I went with pasta at the last min and I was not disappointed. It had amazing flavor and the noodles were cooked al dente. My brother ordered the diavola pizza and said it was the best pizza he had on the entire 3 day trip. Some of the staff looked at us annoyed because we had on our matching jerseys and they seemed to think it was obnoxious. But we're tourists on a bachelor party trip, have a little grace. That's why I appreciated the kindness from the manager even more. The inside of the restaurant is cozy and feels like you're in someone's home.

It appears that this is the Sardi's of Milan - portraits of Italian celebrities cover the wall all over and the food passes muster to match the star power. I was first brought a basket of bread but no accompanying olive oil. The bread was basically good but i waited until I had plates to scrape up sauce and oil from for the bread. My first dish was a Spaghetti with anchovies which was quite delicious. The pasta may have been a tad bit *too* al dente even for me, and I like it al dente! My second dish was the Veal Piccata with Artichoke. They brought me a Veal Piccata with Olives instead - which was not on the menu....but in my confusion I found that an earlier verison of the menu had it Pizzaola style - tomato-sauce with olives. That's not on their current menu though so when I asked them where the artichokes were, pointing to an image from their digital menu, they said no more and removed the plate and in a few instant minutes later brought me exactly what I ordered. The artichokes were broiling hot, obviously they rushed this together but it was tasty. I finished off with a Pasteria Napoletana from the dessert display case. It was all good. I don't know if I'd necessarily come back though as I had higher expectations of the food and the service, though. But worth trying once!
