    Spaghetti all'allice

We were in Milan for a week and ate there twice. First time was merely because they were open when no one else was. I'm so happy we were forced to dine here. The food ended up being so good we brought our friends back a couple of days later. I'm already missing the food and I've only been home a couple of days. If in doubt, ask the owner what to order. She will not let you order something that isn't their BEST. I suggest the mussels and the lobster spaghetti "spaghetti all'astice". The restaurant itself is nothing fancy. But who cares. The food is amazing and it's not over priced.

Woooooow!!! This place... Geezus! Absolutely divine. Absolutely the BEST meal that I had during my trip to Italy. Like, hands down. Pasta doesn't get any better than this, folks! So let me preface; the name of the restaurant is actually LE Chalet (French), but of course, Yelp won't let me change it. It's a restaurant with a French name and an Asian staff, but the food is so incredibly authentic, fresh, and flavorful. This place came highly recommended by a local in the area. I was completely skeptical until I took my first bite. This is what love feels like. The pasta is exceptional here!!! This isn't the fanciest place, but the service is stellar and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Definitely a local's gem kind of spot. A comfortable place with comforting food. The menu options are insane!!! Every type of pasta and pizza that your little heart could ever even think of is on that menu. AND, the prices are insanely affordable for the high quality and quantity of food that you'll receive. I mean, the menu is literally pages long. Usually when I see menus like this, it intimidating because it seems like too much for one restaurant to handle. Not sure about the other entrees on the menu, but our food was made with so much love. Of course, we had to go with the local's suggestion; Tagliatelle with shrimp scampi and asparagus. Y'all... my eyes are rolling to the back of my head just THINKING about it. First of all, the Tagliatelle noodles were handmade and SCRUMPTIOUS!!! The perfect amount of firmness and chewiness. The asparagus and shrimp were incredibly fresh and there was no shortage of either one in this dish. And that SAUCE! Daaamniiittt! So creamy and full of elegant flavors. I mean, I could have died. It was just so, so, soooo delightful. Pasta can be pretty filling in general, but this massively hearty portion filled me up with ease. One thing that I love about Italy is that their house wines are top tier and dirt cheap. I ordered a glass of house white and they brought over a pitcher (which made 2 large glasses). It was only €3 for 2 glasses of wine! And it was GOOD too! I honestly would have purchased a bottle, but my friend doesn't drink. At the end of our meal, they gave us a complimentary limoncello dessert in a champagne glass. It was extremely tart but still refreshing after that big ol' meal. That pasta gave us the 'itis booooyyy! So stuffed and satisfied. Been dreaming about that pasta ever since I left. This will be a necessary dinner stop when I find myself back in Milan. Hook, line and sinker.

An excellent dining experience awaits you at San Mina! My wife and I had great meals over the past…read more2 weeks in Italy and for our final dinner in Milan we chose San Mina based on Yelp reviews. And we were not disappointed! The food was simple and delicious - we started with a Caprese salad, very nice, followed by bread that was super fresh and a heartier flavor than we had at other restaurants. For entrees we decided on seafood after so many pasta and pizza meals - we tried their grilled tuna and grilled swordfish, and both were outstanding. The tuna had a nice salt/subtle seasoning and was prepared perfectly, seared on the outside and rare on the inside. My wife's swordfish was also nicely prepared, and the portion was huge - twice the amount she expected (see photos)! And the generous portion of veggies were tasty. For dessert my wife had tiramisu and said it was among the best she had on our entire trip (and she had many!). I had a wonderful pistachio dessert with almonds on the outside that was great (forgot the name), but highly recommend it. Service was professional and prompt (no hovering, a pet peeve). As we ate, the restaurant filled with locals who all seemed to know the staff personally, creating a friendly and comfortable atmosphere with a nice family feel. We walked to the restaurant so I can't comment on parking, but the neighborhood was clean and the restaurant exterior is well-lit. So, if you like excellent food at reasonable prices with great service, try San Mina!
