The syrups and coffee are dreamy. Wish we got more of the Mac Nut Chili Crunch! The range of sweet and savory products is impressive 5/5!

Aloha Kaua'i!…read more Landed in the rain for the Hawai'i Tropical Fruit Growers Annual Conference-and checked Yelp for food ideas, of course! Headed to the golf course after checking reviews-since we were literally minutes away. Loved the massive Ohana of roosters and chicks, noticed how gorgeous and healthy they appeared- and upon exit, saw them getting very well fed! The venue is a walk up with a ramp for those on wheels, restrooms are at the end of the building fronting the parking lot; right past the golf shop. Great menu options, supporting local, including Kaua'i Roastery Coffee, plus great alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage offerings. Many a golfer came in for nice, tall, and chilled cans of varying refreshment to take out:). And my co worker is pretty sure her spaghetti mac salad had ULU!!! (That's breadfruit:)!) I had the sweet bread tuna melt with fries-filling and yum! Perfect sweet bread with tuna and cheese, and the fries were way good-maybe double dipped/fried? I had to take out half the sandwich as leftovers. My co worker had the ginger fried chicken plate and she whacked it, rice, salad, chicken and all. Must have been good! Considering the late afternoon hour, a good number of tables were already taken, one with a group of 6 and others who were clearly there for the mainland sport games on the big screen TVs. (A little weird with three TVs all blasting different channels though, since they were all in the same corner.) Optional ample outdoor lanai seating, where you can also watch the golfers. Ample parking in front as well, which was pretty full with golfers considering the refreshing/sometimes pelting, rain. Hey, here were call it liquid sunshine! It was great to enjoy our late lunch/dinner here, can't wait to dig into the apple cruller I got for today's breakfast. (They get it from a local bakery.) Very reasonably priced and well portioned! Enjoy your visit!

We were there around noon and it is amazing to see that most of their fish were gone, I knew that was a sign that this spot was gonna be good! The fish express offers ready to go foods, hot food, and also fresh fish like a fish market! My husband and I always just get the poke and this time we tried ahi shoyu poke, ahi maui onion poke, ahi spicy poke with crab, and sliced tako. They don't have a seating place everyone either ate it outside the store or in their car. The poke... cuts like butter! When it cuts like you know you picked a good spot! There's something about getting the first bite at the start of your vacation that kick starts the day, time, and the vacation. Getting the right eats makes a person remember that special place and since it was our first time in Kauai, finding The Fish Express and eating one of the best pokes really set the mood to our vacation and I can't wait to go back!

It's purely a take-out spot with no dine-in area, so we grabbed our bowls and brought them straight back to our resort to eat by the pool. The selection here is massive--you build your bowl with two protein choices and a a lot of sides. I went with the Ahi Tuna and the shrimp, and the quality of the fish was top-tier. However, keep in mind that they price everything by weight. Between the weight of the seafood and the side dish costs piling up, your bowl quickly ends up being quite expensive. It makes for a huge, super hearty, and delicious meal, but definitely expect a higher price tag at checkout. Super good for freshness and variety!
