This was a very cool and unique stop during our tour of Kauai. I would call this the perfect place for someone who likes fun beverages but not necessarily alcohol. I grabbed a flight of different ginger beers (they have roughly six or more varieties on tap). I was able to try out some of their old school arcade games while sipping on different ginger beer varieties. The guy behind the counter was very chill and helpful with our questions. One consideration, their hours are very limited (close at 2:30ish), so plan to stop here early in the day. Let me start with this: I *LOVE* ginger beer. And to find a place that is dedicated to ginger beers is like finding a little piece of heaven. What a brilliant idea and an awesome shop! They have a rotating selection of house made ginger beers on tap--all made with fresh Hawaiian ingredients--that you can try. But if you just can't make up your mind from the small tastes, you can buy a flight of four, and go back and forth between your favorites. The three of us got flights, and frankly, we liked them all. That said, my favorite by a long shot is the classic (ginger and only ginger!), but the chili ginger beer is awesome too (with a nice little kick at the end), as is the lilikoi (a local papaya). If you need food, they have wonderful panini sandwiches. And if you haven't had enough ginger beer at the shop, you can take a bottle of fresh pour home with you. Note: this place has limited hours, pretty much extended lunch, closing at 2:30. Don't come too late in the day, or you'll be disappointed! Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. My son absolutely loves this place. Not only does it have his all time fav drink "The Blue Pineapple" there's spots to sit and hang out. Yet, it's a quick grab and go place, ambiance is really friendly and child like so definitely a place to bring kids. The place was small and clean, and had some classic arcade games that you could play for free The staff member was very nice and let us try samples of their different beers - I tried their Dill Pickle, Lavender, Classic, Turmeric, and their slushie. All were fantastic, but I opted for the Classic, since it was a bit more zippy. Made it a meal by adding on chips and a Kimchi Dog, which was delicious. The sausage had the perfect grill to it, and was complemented with the crunch of the slaw, bitterness of the kimchi, the spiciness of the sriracha mayo, and the softness of the bun. I've had ginger beer before but none of them compared to Aloha Ginger Beer. Found them at a stand at the local farmer's market. Tasting a couple samples definitely sold us. So fresh, so zingy good! The gentleman manning the station was so knowledgeable and friendly. It made the friendly transaction perfect. Fast forward to finding their storefront this afternoon! A great corner store filled with wonderful merch and all things from various vendors. Loved the fresh baskets of ginger at the entrance along with seating and classic arcade games including Pac-man! You gotta love a place that not only serves a great beverage but values great games of the past! There are numerous flavors available at the store: holiday spice, similar to chai, lavender, original, hibiscus, and a few more. All delicious. Today we had the slushie. How 'bout some refreshments before going to the airport? Came here 3hrs. Before our flight and best decision ever! Just a 4mins. drive and you'll find this local store who is famous of their ginger beer. I am not leaving Kauai without trying their famous ginger beer. Upon entering KC greeted us gave us a little introduction 'bout the store. I sample all their ginger beer after that and I end up getting the hibiscus. It was a bit bitter but at the same token kinda addicting. LoL. Also I popped my medicine by the way before drinking, just in case I won't end up in emergency. They don't only sell ginger beer here as they also offer some quick eats like hotdog on a bun (teriyaki dog, kimchi dog, wasabi dog). They also sell treats like cacao, raw honey, ginger candy and some merch made by other local artists. There's one arcade game that you can play while waiting for your order. I love this store. We walked into Aloha Ginger Beer, located in downtown Lihue, and were warmly greeted by the owner and master brewer who was extremely friendly and welcoming, and gave us some great recommendations for local food and coffee spots! We got a chance to sample their classic, turmeric, lavender, lili koi and Christmas themed ginger beers. He also let us try their ginger beer slushy (yum)! All were absolutely delicious; we especially loved the lili koi - it is a passion fruit and orange flavor and a 10/10! They also support other local businesses by carrying their merchandise in store. On my recent trip just a few weeks ago, my husband and I went to the store front in Lihue as our first stop after landing in Kauai, and loaded up on a few jugs. We tried the slushy which was so potent and refreshing, the Hibiscus, Lilikoi, Spiced Christmas special, and their original. All of the flavors were 10/10 and so, so refreshing! This is by far the BEST ginger beer we have ever tried, and will be coming back for more. The service is also great. We got to try several samples and had a good time chatting with the owner. As far as the ambiance goes, it's a relatively small store with some video game consoles inside, and a few tables if you wanted to sit inside. Overall, this is a MUST stop when you're in Kauai! Found this place by mistake, we were on our way to Safari Helicopter and missed our turn, while making a u-turn to get back to where we were supposed to go, the wife saw the sign, Aloha Ginger Beer. She says, we have to check it out. We went back to it the following day on our way to Princeville, what an amazing find!! As soon as I walked in the door, I could smell the ginger, I knew I was in the right place. I love ginger beer and am always trying to find one that is ginger forward. Most of the ones off the grocery shelves are just okay. Reeds extra ginger unfiltered is some of the strongest ginger taste to date. Aloha Ginger Beer is the best tasting with a great bubbly feel to it. Tried all of the flavors, and especially enjoyed the Lilikoi and Hibiscus. There is a nice bite form the ginger in all of the flavors. Casey suggested the slushy if I liked a strong ginger taste. I was up to the challenge, and sure enough, the Lilikoi Slushy was double the ginger strength of the ginger beer. It burned sooo good!! Great amazing product, wish I had one closer to home. Just for reference, I have tried from scratch to make ginger beer at home, I could never get the balance of sweetness to the ginger with the fermentation. Now that we have found this place, how do we get more. Unfortunately it's just not cost effective for it to be shipped. What a bummer, can you say franchise?!?
