Selection is decent. We had sliced pies for dessert and it's very good. Depending on the time of the day the line can be long. A lot of tourists since they are right next to hotels. And inside Coconut Market Place which is popular in Kuhio Hwy. Few sets of tables and chairs if you want to chill while eating the food you grab from the market. If you weren't seeking Whalers General store one would not know of the fresh poke that is fairly priced. Enter and head on towards the right. The laid back staff are patient as you decide! In addition to poke are other pickled selections of seafood. The local and fresh caught poke are all full flavored. When it comes to favorites the husband and I found ourselves enjoying every bite of the spicy ahi and shoyu ahi. The texture and cuts of the fish make all the difference. My friend Nick and Kanoa's father have kept in touch over the years. We happened to be back on the Garden Isle for the Summer and Nick told me to look out for a newly opened snack shack in Kapa'a town. We were on it. I remember this space in previous years across from Pono Kai being a thrift shop/vintage store. My nephews had gone in while we were getting fresh fruit along Kuhio Hwy nearby. I'm glad its now a one-stop shop for all things snack. It was a pleasure meeting Kanoa and his vision for the space. It was also nice meeting his mom and his lady on our visit. They were all so nice and welcoming. I had been on the hunt for island style crispy beef jerky and made other stops on the island from the NS to Lihue to the West Side with no luck. Unfortunately, K Snack Shack wasnt carrying them yet but we were able to get other snacks for our time on the island. I LUH li hing mui anything so I grabbed some li hing mui mango and lhm sour patch kids. They are perfect snacking for the beach. The lady got herself some dried ika and some arare snack bags. K Snacks also has it all from shave ice, popcorn and every type of gummy snack you can think of. I love these kind of shops. You cant go wrong stopping by... We just missed an opportunity to stop by the following Summer as they had just closed for the day. We were bummed. Kanoa also has K Snack Shack branded merch as hats (Otto trucker & structured) and t-shirts. I have to get both next time we're on island.
