5 stars? Nope! 10 stars!!! We had reservation for 9 people and came in straight to the table. They were so full and very crowded as it was 4th of July weekend. They have a big parking so it was easy to find a spot. First off, our server was amazing! Very very attentive to us, she ask us for our drinks every time she sees its almost empty. She also informs us of their specials and most requested orders. (Ambiance is also great, feels cozy and the place is clean and well-maintained!) We got the bread with a very nice dip, first time we tried that kind of dip (has dill)We then ordered our appetizers, we ordered Ringers (onion rings), then potato skin and their special Garlic Parmesan Buffalo wings. It was amazing and was very flavorful! Then came our entree, we ordered the tomahawk with turkey noodle soup and salad with coleslaw and rice pilaf. Every order of tomahawk you get two sides and two salad or soup of your choice. Some of our family ordered same. Oooftttt! By this time we are already so full but their dessert menu looked so good so we had to take it home! We paid almost $625, that includes the tip! Are we coming back!? Oh absolutely!! Will definitely be back again and order the tomahawk!! (some pictures were not taken as we devoured it immediately!)

I loved Sloans! In town for CASV and needed a place for a late lunch/early dinner. We had seen great reviews on this place and decided to try it out. We shared a Tomahawk steak at $99 between two adult and one child. Sides could be a little bigger but the steak is definitely the star of the show. We had great service and the restaurant had a nice ambiance. I did try calling earlier to reserve space for a large party and they turned me down. I had to lower my party to 6 people. There was definitely space in the restaurant but I understand its best so the servers dont get too overwhelmed. I would definitely be back. 100% DELICIOUS

Tomahawk steak with onion rings and loaded baked potatoe - AMAZING

Really love the steak here! The loaded bake potatoes are always made on point. I ordered the Tomahawk steak which fed two! It's was $95 and came with two sides and salads. The Cesar salad is my go to an the lettuce is fresh and dressing isn't too much. The bread whole was a must and that night they had the cinnamon butter and it tasted just like Texas Roadhouse I was elated! The steak was absolutely amazing! The clams appetizer is the best order for seafood lover because they put a nice amount of garlic in the sauce and it's perfect for dipping bread. Dessert we ordered the peanut butter chocolate pie and this is the only place I ever order this dessert. They make it's light and just right. Highly recommend to steak and carb lovers!

Everything I have had at Sloan's has been exceptional. Their appetizers are yummy, their entrees are very good too.

The fried chicken really hit the spot. It was crispy on the outside and juicy once you bite into it. The ribs were on point as well and really good with the sweet yam side. We were in Oneonta for a week for Cooperstown All-Star Village tournament. We attempted to go here 3 times. Twice, we drove up and it was totally empty even though their hours said they were open online. When we came up, they were closed for a reservation. Once, we got in line and waited for 30 minutes and the line moved about 10ft total. We were still 20ft from the window. This is not a joke. If you want to try it, I would suggest checking their social media or calling in advance. There is no real schedule during baseball season and it can be an extremely frustrating experience. Good luck!

My chicken was average at best, and my wife didnt like her hamburger it had no taste and was soggy. Really the only thing that was normal was the salad bar. The waitress never came over to let us know when the food was coming, which is customary when waiting a long time. Also the home made fries were kind of soggy,, and the smaller pieces were outright crunchy and way overcooked. This placed used to be top notch, with great food, good service, and prices. We have ate at this place probably around 40 times, when it was good, back in the day. Hopefully it will get back to where it was before.

The chicken here like I stated in the pass is off the charts delicious. Nothing even comes close to them. The Mac and cheese on this trip was good as well as the macaroni salad. Make sure when you come here you get a couple bbq sauces. The sauce is so delicious. So good that you can even find them sold in your local Walmarts. I ordered online which is super easy to do and ready when they say it's going to be. On Easter Sunday this place was jam packed in the dine in section which made my decision to order and take out online worth it. Just pulling into the parking lot your greeted ti the aroma of bbq and their smokers working overtime. Absolutely amazing. So after a 4 year hiatus, I'm glad to say that this experience was great.

Full disclosure, the food's not bad and the guy making it was very friendly. That said, these are tacos so white I'm surprised they don't come slathered in mayonnaise. No Al Pastor. No Barria. No Barbacoa. Legit chorizo comes in a tube that costs like a dollar. Where's that? I ordered a BBQ Pulled Pork Taco thinking it might be Ty's answer to Carnitas, but it was just pulled pork on a tortilla. It was fine, but it wasn't a taco. It was decent pulled pork BBQ on a tortilla. No flavorfully Mexican take on pulled pork BBQ. I can't imagine what's in the Street Corn or Classic Beef, the only tacos masquerading as authentic Mexican food. Greek chicken or falafel? Are you kidding me? Why bother? A Greek chicken taco is called a Souvlaki, and a falafel is, well, a Falafel. Star Mix is right up the street, and if you're looking for a souvlaki or falafel, it's pretty great, and a lot cheaper. And that's my real beef with Ty's. Mediocre white-people-tacos are a common scourge of any college town, but $17 for three tacos? $6 to $6.50 for one? Who's buying these tacos with the regularity to keep this stand in business? Authentic Mexican restaurants around the country - sit-down restaurants with far more overhead - manage to offer guests free chips and salsa. Ty's charges $3 for salsa, and another $5 for the chips. That's like charging $3 for the cigarette and $5 for the light. And as those countless, authentic restaurants have proven, Ty's doesn't need it.

4&1/2...WING FOCUSED REVIEW...2 of 2 transcendent chicken experiences I was lucky to have on the…read moresame day on my recent trip through Oneonta, where I had attended college for my first 2 years some 20-some years ago. When doing some recon through town I inquired to a local about where I could find the best wings and he immediately named this spot. This jogged my memory back to my college days and the fact it was similarly known at the time. as well as that it was just a little removed both physically and culturally from the college scene and more of a strictly locals place. I took said locals advice and stopped on over and before even entering the place I was very glad I did. My eyes lit up at the awesome converted old train depot setting from which it gets it name. Inside was a welcoming warmly lit interior centered around a handsome old bar which I sidled on up to. My stomach still quite full from my feast at Brooks House of BBQ that afternoon I just ordered my drink and a single order of wings in the house specialty "garbage sauce" an umami rich amaglamation of various sauces and they were nothing short of magnificent. Perfectly proportioned and flavorful crisp on the outside and moist and juicy on the inside. A delicious reminder of how much better in general wings are upstate than back home in the City. I savored every bite. The meal was made all the more enjoyable by striking up an enjoyably meandering with a gregarious Vietnam vet proud grandpa seated beside me and were both well served and treated by the lovely bartender. Much of the other food I saw being brought out looked quite tasty as well but what really caught my eye was the super thick square cut pizza, which seemed to be on most every table. It seems to be a relative of both the nearby regional vartieties of the Old-Forge style pizza found across the PA border near Scranton, and the "Hot Pie" of the greater Binghamton/Tri-Cities area even closer afield. More than enough to spark some serious intrigue in a pizza freak like myself and a top priority for me to order when I hopefully get another chance to visit here, of course alongside another order of those incredible wings.

We weren't informed…read morethat they had a different, much smaller menu with no provision to order from the normal menu. Three of the four meals were fine. Unfortunately my husband order the 10oz NY strip (an eye popping $28!) He thought he was playing it safe by ordering it medium. When the waitress brought his meal out she said she was waiting for him to cut into the steak to make sure it was to his order. Good thing because it was the rarest piece of meat we'd ever seen! Raw inside! She took the steak back and had them put it back on the grill (her words). Unfortunately when it came back out nearly 20 minutes later after the rest of us had already started, it was still barely medium rare! She offered to take it back and put it back on the grill (again!) but he was so frustrated he told her to leave it and he'd take it home and cook it himself. Sadly after cooking the next evening the majority of the meat was either fat or gristle so the 10oz steak ended up to be about 3oz of edible meat! We've been to other restaurants where an entree has been l poorly cooked, etc. and in each case the restaurant has always comped the meal. The salt in the wound was the waitress only offered to comp our dessert (just my husband and I!) Instead of rightfully comping the $28 meal they comped a $4 dessert. Our experience wasn't bad enough to keep us from going back but we'd definitely recommend to the restaurant that, if they're using a special menu they should've made sure to advertise that or let us know when we made reservations. Additionally, in an obvious screw up like this, always comp the meal!
