New Spot to try out in Starkville. Very clean and open atmosphere. Great service from staff Awesome location right off main drag in town. Service for dine in is fast. You can tell the fried chicken he freshly made. I have the classic with mac and cheese!! Great mac and cheese for a fast food spot. Buffalo and slim sauce is amazing. You wont be disappointed coming here. It's a must try!!! read more

Slim Chickens - Chicken Shop Near Me - Starkville, Mississippi

After waiting to order for 30 minutes the manager advised they were pausing taking inside orders to take care of the drive thru. It was clear on a game weekend they were understaffed and unprepared. read more

Everytime I have come to this location, the food is very fresh and piping hot! I love the seasoning on the chicken and fries, and I also love their peach tea. The service is spotty, and the restaurant has sticky floors. But if you're hungry for chicken, this is the spot! read more

Ok I like slim chickens but I would not say it is the best ever! The chicken is good and the sauces are great ! But we usually don't have very good service here, our food is skimped on, and it's expensive! read more

I placed an online pickup order , and when I got my food, I realized part of my order was missing. I called the store, and they told me they had run out of that item... but I was still charged for it, and no one informed me ahead of time. The website didn't notify me during the ordering process, and no one at the store mentioned it when I picked up the order. As a college student, I don't have extra money to waste on food I never received. It's really frustrating and disappointing that there was no communication. At the very least, I should've been told or refunded right away. read more

Good food but very bad customer service. Go there every Tuesday with friends and it doesn't get better. There are around 5 people that I see who do the job amount of 3 people. read more

I'm hoping I can select 0 stars as my rating bc Saturday night in Starkville was that exactly. I waited in the drive-thru for over 45 minutes with only 2 cars in front of me to still not get food. I finally told them to give me my money back after such a long wait and EXTREMELY rude people working in the store. No one was in a hurry and no one was trying to make it right. There were no apologies and only "WHAT?" when I knocked on the window to finally get someone's attention. I have never been treated like that at a restaurant. And honestly it's not my problem or anyone else's if you're shorthanded. Either make it work or close. I run a business too and I'd NEVER treat my customers that way. read more

The service was absolutely horrible. The lady taking our order was extremely rude and wouldn't give us the time of day. we ordered two regular meals and it took over an hour while we watched other people who ordered after get their food. They simply forgot about our order. Then we asked for extra sauce and she told us no. insane. love slim chickens but the employees at this location are seriously the rudest group of people I've ever met in my life. read more

While the service was nice, the worker at the cash register informed us that they were out of chicken tenders for the night... at 9:15 pm... 45 minutes before the restaurant closes. Some might say that this particular piece of information is confusing as this is a restaurant that serves only chicken tenders. I have always found that it is an interesting business model to stop cooking food before a restaurant closes. Note to workers: change the sign on the door or keep frying chicken until you close. read more

Food is good service could be friendlier. Not busy when we came in, the 4 booths we were looking to sit down at were dirty and none of the staff made the attempt to clean any of the tables. read more

Staff was very friendly. Restaurant, as well as, the bathrooms were very clean. Food was very good with little wait time

Fried chicken fingers. One of the hardest foods to screw up. They don't screw it up here, but what the will screw up is your order. I've been here on two or three occasions and this place shares the same problem as the Zaxby's in town, never get an order right. The chicken isn't anything above average or something to go out of your way for. The sauces are decent, yet again nothing exceptional. Starkville suffers from mediocre chains for the most part. This seemed like a smaller chain that had potential, but fell flat. I try to support local chains like that, but i just can't find one that performs for some reason. If you really want chicken fingers I couldn't recommend this place over Zaxby's. They are pretty similar, but Zaxby's just has an edge. This place isn't really cheaper or worth getting off of 12 for. read more

This has to be the saddest place to eat in Starkville. You open at 10:30. Which means you should have everything prepped to start the day for when it opens, but how does someone wait in line for over 20 minutes for 3 pieces of chicken and some soggy fries. Now I actually used to work at slim chickens, so I kinda know how it works in there, 20 MINUTES FOR SOME SOGGY ASS FRIES IS RIDICULOUS!!! read more

Went on a Friday around 12:30pm. It wasn't very busy around two cars in front of me. Line went fast at first. I ordered chicken with fries and fried pickles. Would not order the fried pickles again. They were lightly breaded. My food was also a little cold. My car ride home is not far so I was a little disappointed. Overall service was great food was just okay. read more

Terrible service. Sat in the drive through 15 minutes before closing, saying hello through the intercom, for someone to walk out a few minutes after 10 to say, "we closed at 10, I'm sorry we're throwing away the food already." Got to do better with service. read more

We've eaten at slims 3 times now. Twice were to go orders and once at the location. First to go experience was okay.. the restaurant was still brand new so the car line was out in the street. Our chicken was hot but the fries were cold. Second time was eating at the restaurant and it was still packed at 2pm. Fried pickles were probably my favorite part. The last time we ate there was a drive thru order. We live less than a mile from the location and when we got home ALL of the the food was cold! We haven't been back since.. read more

The fries were good. and pretty good wraps and fried chicken. The folks working here kind of quirky. I got the feeling that the customers were bothering them. Not sure I understand business model where the employees would rather not have customers but this is the place. The fries were good ... Cole slaw was old and had soured. I give it a solid 2 stars. read more

I would leave zero stars and that would really encompass the situation my friends and I just endured for an hour of our lives. We chose this establishment because we assumed it would be quick quality food and we love the branch in our hometown. We were wrong. We ordered and sat and waited for our food for an hour. At the hour point the food runner started collecting receipts of customers and telling everyone to leave and that they'd get a refund. Then we realized that we could only get a refund if we stood in line and physically swiped our card so there are definitely patrons who left thinking they'd get a refund but did not. the refund process took another 30+ minutes of our life that we will never recover in any capacity and we left with no food. We had our drinks which was another issue because the machine had no ice, it was poorly calibrated so the drinks tasted nasty, there were no large cups and also no straws. The bathroom also had an unrelated but very bad smell. We waited for so long that we had to leave Starkville at this point and drive back to our hometown and had to do that with no food at all. read more

We placed on online order for carry out. So this is the second time this has happened... We place orders for 2 slim plates and one chick plate. For 2 of the sides we paid extra for salads. For the 2 slim plates they failed to provide the requested dipping sauces. For one of the salads they did not provide the salad dressing. Of course we find this when we get home... We called to complain that this was the second time this has happened. The manager was like "well I'm sorry". My husband asked if they can make this right. The manager, Andrew, offered a free meal the next we are there. While we appreciate this, it is very annoying. read more

Pretty good chicken here. No major complaints other then the chicken wings are a little pricey for the size of the ones you get. Overall not a bad place for lunch or dinner. read more

Tried this out for the first time today and it was great! It's good to have something different from zaxbys, it reminds me of the chicken at Raising Caine's or Foosacklys so I'm glad to have this here in Starkville. The slim's sauce taste great and the fries are nothing like McDonald's, (as one reviewer put it) they are definitely better. Overall it's good to have something different from our usual chicken choices as well as having this place closer to campus and not so far of a drive! read more

The customer service is AWFUL at the drive through. I ordered 2 meals and this female walks to the window and gives me one meal and walks away as if I didnt order anything else. I blew the car horn but she walked by as if not to hear it. So the male came back and asked if he could help I told him I ordered 2 meals only received 1. Long story short the female needs to pay attention!! Get home only to find the fries are old and cold and the sandwich wa old also. Horrible experience!! read more

Food isn't great. It's a Zaxby's knock-off restaurant. Fries are McDonald's fries. Tea is good, and the people are nice, though.

Used to love the food but now don't. Don't use the app to order after 8 pm. If you order, you won't get drinks because they break down the drink machines in the lobby and won't allow you to get them from the drive through. You will be able to choose between water without ice or warm lemonade if there is leftover. Plus never use the app if you are planning to drive through because they make you come inside to get your mobile order. The fried tenders are always as soggy as the fries and don't taste fresh. I guess they cook a big batch of each about 7:30 and just dole them out and microwave them. Probably won't ever go back and will tell my friends and family the same. read more

Great stop while driving through Starkville during the holidays. The staff was attentive and friendly, the restaurant was clean, and the food was delicious! We drive through the area often, and this is my new favorite! Bonus - kids eat free on Sundays so we saved on a meal that everyone actually ate!. Never a bad deal when you have a large family! read more

I've eaten here quite a few times over the last year and tonight I'm disappointed to say that my fries and chicken were ice cold. Honestly they were probably colder than my drink and they filled that all the way to the top with ice. To add on, the slim sauce that I got (which is normally very good) was spoiled and tasted horrible. Love Slim Chickens but tonight they let me down. read more

The food is decent, but the service is awful. I've been through the drive-thru about a handful of times, and this place can never get an order right. My boyfriend asked for a different side to substitute for fries and they couldn't get that right. I worked in fast food for 3 years, and I can promise it is not that difficult to get an order right. read more

Terrible service. Some don't understand the concept of quantity. Like when asking for "TWO" sauces and you get one Time and time again. Food is always cold. Don't recommend. Go to Zaxby's read more

This ratings is purely based on customer service. My children and I went there for dinner last night and my meal was slow coming out. I would say at least 15min past their normal service time. Both the server and two other employees came to acknowledge and apologize for the slow service. In addition they gave us a treat for having to wait which we gladly accepted. I never let on like I was displeased however they had the discernment to realize that the time was not acceptable for a fast food restaurants service time. Good job and we will be back. read more

My husband and I were really excited to see a new chicken place come to Starkville. We went on the day it first opened and even though it was chaotic we got in fast and the service was quick and friendly. The chicken and all the sauces are delicious! We have been back many times since then and love it. read more

The food here is really really great. A little overpriced, but still very good. They definitely skimp on the fries when you order a plate, which for the prices they charge is annoying. The drive-thru is always slow, it doesn't matter how many customers they have, you will have a slow experience. Also, if going through the drive-they always check your order before driving away because they have a tendency to forget parts of your order. The staff isn't super friendly, but not rude or to the point where I wouldn't come back- just mediocre at their jobs. Great food, service could use some work. read more

I would recommend their cayenne ranch sand which. Good price and delicious food for fast food

Super slow business. Employees are only getting more rude and frustrated! I'll just head to Zaxabys. Chicken is better there anyway.

Loved the food it was great and the sauce was amazing. The only thing I would like to see better is the sweet tea but it may have just been bad because it was later in the day so it may have been old. Other then that amazing!! read more

Worst non-service ever. Sat at drive-through for over seven minutes, said hello twice, then blew my horn. Still no response. Pulled up to the window, the restaurant looked closed. During this time three cars pulled up behind me. Waitress pulled the window open and I asked if I could place my order there. She told me that I had to go back around and get in the line. I told her it was unfair for me to get in line behind people who came after I did it. Then another young lady appeared at the window. She stated that it was quite rude of me to blow my horn because she was the only one there while I was looking at two of them. I told her that I had been sitting at the window for quite some time. She stated that her hands were full and she could not respond to me while she was wearing a hands-free headset. They both refused to serve me and I drove off. If in fact these are the only two people there at your restaurant, you have left your restaurant in the wrong hands. I have received excellent service in the city of Starkville. Everyplace except slim chickens. And I don't know how wanting to spend my money at your establishment would be rude. read more
