If I could give it zero stars, I would. I went in to grab a DoorDash order. There was a lizard on the door handle and I called to let the owner (which is usually the only worker there - short guy, tattoos) know so that it wouldn't make its way inside and he was unbelievably rude and ugly to me. He called the police to ''make me delete the video' when he realized I began to record him being blatantly disrespectful for no reason. He tried to grab my phone out of my hand and refused to give me the order that I came to pick up. I have NEVER gotten the police called on me or really ever been in an altercation. He made me feel less than a human and decided to call the police when he noticed that the interaction was being documented. I pray that God deals with his heart. First time in Starkville for a wedding. Stumbled upon Pita Pit, leaving the cigar bar Friday night. I ordered a gyro pita and it was ok btw. I used my card and it asked me for my pin so, I entered my pin. Come to find out me entering my pin gave them a $41.00. The guy at the cash registere noticed immediately that I couldn't have possibly giving them a $41.00. He tried to rectify the situation but, wasn't able to do so. He said the manager would take care of it the next day so, I wrote my name and number down. No, one called me....Sunday is here and I still hadn't heard anything back so, I called the store and was told the manager would call Monday. I get a phone call from the manager telling me it was my fault and there was nothing he can do. It never asks for a pin "it's not an atm". The guy had the door locked before closing time. I got in there and he rushed me to order and then when I gave my order he said the bread was frozen and they close in 15 minutes. He did not want to help. The hours say until 11pm on Thursday but he say they are closing at 9pm. He was cooking on the grill now but told me the breads are frozen. read more

This is my daughters favorite place since coming to school. While plenty of other places have vegetarian options, Pita Pit knocks it out of the park with the price, quantity and taste. Personally my favorite is the Souvlaki (Mediterranean Chicken, Spinach, Tomatoes, Onions, Cucumbers, Black Olives, Feta, Tzatziki and Secret Sauce). I substitute romaine for the spinach. My wife and daughter both enjoy the Hummus Pita (Classic or Roasted Red Pepper Chickpea Spread, Spinach, Tomatoes, Onions, Cucumbers, Black Olives, Feta, Tzatziki and Secret Sauce). We also enjoy it so much she routinely will stop by and pick each of us a pita and bring with her when she comes home. A 1st generation Greek co-worker smelled my Souvlaki at lunch one day and immediately wanted to know where I got it from because of how authentic she thought it was. This place is a good stop to eat at 1 in the morning after the bars in downtown close. At least, this is where I usually end up walking to after hitting the bars pretty hard. The food is decent, not anything super special. They have a decent menu and it's like a subway to build your own wrap. The staff usually puts them together pretty quick for you, so here is no long wait. They are nice to you no matter what condition your mind is in. I usually get the gyro, which I love them. They don't make one in the traditional way, which is sorta disappointing. They wrap it up almost like a burrito. The toppings are a little out there for a traditional gyro, but I get it. They are not a traditional gyro place. The hummus is pretty good. They get the consistency right and it is good to put into your wrap. This place isn't anything special, but being open after the bars close will always gain you points with me. Especially if you don't want to drive anywhere! read more

I was very excited to try Pita Pit for the first time. Excitedly, I ordered a gyro for delivery. I had tomatoes, banana peppers, olives, and spinach. It also already came with those and tzatziki sauce and whatever the "special sauce" is. My gyro arrived dry. WITH NO SAUCE AT ALL. A dry gyro. NOT TO MENTION NO TOMATOES OR BANANA PEPPERS. Pita Pit offers consistently good food in an unimpressive venue. It provides good options for the health conscious and vegetarians while also giving you a chance to eat badly. The service is average. They can be easily overwhelmed at times with crowds, but when they are not busy, the workers tend to stay in the back. I once saw somebody call the restaurant from the counter to ask someone to come to the front, but this was just one experience against many good ones I have witnessed. As with many restaurants, other customers unfamiliar with the routine can be the biggest frustration. Pick some toppings and condiments and move on people. Overall, I like it and would hate to see it go. It provides a much better good option at a price point not significantly higher than a Subway. read more

The service and food at this Pita Pit are great, but the management decided that all pitas with meat should be the exact same price. That is insane. I order the BLT, which only comes with bacon, and it is the same price as the biggest Pita they have with the most meat, making my order completely overpriced.
