This slim chickens location gets worse each time I do. The young girl wearing a black shirt (assuming she's one of the managers) is RUDE. She's practically thrown our food at us once before, she's very fake and rude when she apologizes. There's never soap in the bathrooms and when you let her know she rolls her eyes and does nothing about it. Today, there was no one in line to order but us. 2 employees were just talking AT the registers completely ignoring us for a good 5-10 mins. He even looked at me and held up a finger signaling to wait a sec. Finally, when another staff member came out front they acted like they never saw us and got right to work. Came here with my two buddies after a big day of driving. To be real, I am still here. I am sitting in the bathroom taking care of business. I'm not sure if my chicken has digested yet but I have been holding this in for the past 3 hours. What did I get? Chicken tenders .. GRILLED. Why? I am gluten free in North Dakota baby. Thankfully I am only driving through so shouldn't be here longer than 20ish hours and 8 of those hours I will be asleep. I don't imagine it to be too tough. He felt the chicken needed a thicker (heavy), crunchier breading. I was happy with it being lightly breaded. We both felt the flavor/seasoning was good. It was even still a bit warm, & wasn't greasy. So there i was, with my 3 sons waiting in the slim chickens Drive Thru line. First 10 minutes to get to the ordering machine, because the big guy in front of me was ordering so much. Was a terrible experience for me. First time trying slim chickens and I had to wait a half hour for a chicken sandwich. After I was visually frustrated I I'm sure one of the workers decided to microwave my fried chicken to ensure it was done faster. I could tell by how tough the chicken was. I couldn't even take a bite because the chicken was so tough. I knew it was microwaved instantly and asked one of the coworkers if slims has a microwave which she confirmed they do. We are on a mission to try different places in Minot. We had never heard of Slim Chickens and had to try it. We both got wraps. He got the bbq wrap with fried chicken and I got the ranch wrap with grilled chicken. The chicken itself tasted weird and was similar to the chicken found in McNuggets. So basically frozen Cooked mystery chicken. I got fries and he got the ranch chips, which they made. They are made with ranch seasoning; however, they tasted like plain potato chips. So that was disappointing. The fries, had a strange aftertaste and were cold. Now, during busy times, cold fries seem like it would be a risk! However, this place was not even busy. Finally. I had ordered a milkshake. It was nothing extraordinary and just average. The service was ok - there was confusion on our order and the price changed from what we were originally quoted. Not that a few dollars are a big deal (+\-), but sticking to the original quote despite confusion should be honored. This place gets 2 stars. Placed an online pick up order for a salad and tender meal, waited 25 minutes for the order to be ready (15 minutes longer than expected), and ended up leaving with no food due to a very distasteful conversation with the manager. Upon coming inside to check in on my order I was informed that I would need to wait an additional 10 minutes at least for the meal to be ready. I asked for a refund and the manager came out to try to argue with me that the time I expected to wait (10 minutes) wasn't a realistic time for their "fast food"... I didn't catch his name but he will definitely be the reason I avoid eating at this mediocre chicken slow food restaurant. Apparently they are only able to process refunds in the back office and this is not a quick nor simple task on their end. My husband and I went to lunch here today during the lunch rush and it was a disappointment to say the least. We ordered through the app, and when we went to pick it up we arrived slightly after the expected pick up time and waited over 30 minutes on top of the expected pick up time. We understood that they were busy but a total of 45 minutes to get our order was discouraging when we saw at least 3-4 employees just standing around not attending to the dirty tables or the waiting customers. After our food was ready, my wings were tossed in buffalo sauce then covered up with the BBQ sauce when I only ordered the BBQ sauce. I am pregnant and buffalo sauce gives me awful heartburn, so I spent the next hour or so in pain as I ate the wings not knowing at first that they also had buffalo sauce on them. My fries were bland, there was no seasoning on them at all, and I was given ranch instead of blue cheese. My husbands wings were fine but his Mac and cheese was cold. We have loved this restaurant since it opened but it has been on a downhill slope for the last year at least. I hope to see improvements at this place when it comes to time management and making sure the order is correct before packaging and giving it to the customer. Found a pink hair in my chicken sandwich. I know exactly who it came from however I was in a serious rush and couldn't just go back in to say something. I waited a good amount of time just for the girl to take my order and I had a hungry husband and 2 kids waiting in the car. I have been here several times since they opened in Minot. Only twice out of those several times has my order been wrong. I think those are pretty good odds considering they are so new. Most fast food restaurants have issues with orders being wrong after years of being open so.. there's that. The last time my order was wrong - I was missing a lot of tenders. I called and spoke to the manager, Martin. He was very nice. He asked what he could do to make it right since I couldn't get back to the store the same night for the missing tenders. I asked him for a refund the next time I was in town. When I got to there, he already had my refund in an envelope ready to go. He thanked me for giving them the opportunity to make it right. I'd give them 4.5/5 if I could. I went here twice on opening week. Both times had speedy service. If you like zaxbys or raising canes this place is not far from that mark. The chicken tenders are actually juicy tenderloins and not fake mashed together chicken. The sauces are also good and the gravy was really good. They give you a lot of fried pickles... almost too many to eat . My one complaint is the French fries weren't that great. They had a Burger King texture and were just strange. Nice to see a fast food place that's not afraid of spice. That said, the chicken itself was no better than McDonalds or Burger King. For a place that advertises itself as made to order and fresh it sure missed the mark by a long shot. The bun for the sandwich was actually worse and fell apart while I was eating, no flavor. All of the sauces we're very good, haven't tried the gravy, though. The wings were almost like they'd sat out too long, like a grocery deli, but the Sriracha garlic sauce was tasty. It did the job and filled me up, but I don't think I'll go back for the chicken. I'll have to try the fried pickles next time, thy were so busy they must've ran out this time.
