DO NOT GIVE SLIM CHICKENS YOUR BUSINESS. THEY ARE DISHONEST AND DECEPTIVE IN THEIR PRACTICES. We would normally take advantage of Slim Chickens Wednesday Chicken and Waffles special for $5.99. Out of convenience, we downloaded the Slim Chickens app so that I could place the orders over the app while my wife would go by the drive thru to pick up the order. I had the app linked to my credit card. Every Wednesday, we ordered four orders of the Chicken and Waffles and were charged $9.99 for each order, meaning $4 per order more than the special price. After having placed nine orders of the same 4 Chicken and Waffles meals, we noticed that we were not charged the $5.99 price. It took me three separate emails over about a month and a half just to get somebody from Slim Chickens to even respond. Today, their area manager informed me that they would not be refunding me the $144 we were overcharged because the Wednesday Chicken and Waffles special is only good if you order in the drive thru or dine in. This in not acceptable, is false advertising and deceptive. First of all, nowhere on the Slim Chickens app does it say that the $5.99 special price does not apply to app orders and, secondly, it makes no sense because we are placing the orders thru the app for convenience and at STILL PICKING UP THE ORDERS IN PERSON. How does that not qualify for the special price? If we were getting it delivered, then I would understand, but that's not the case with us. This is a decent place to eat for chicken lovers. I fell in love with the style and decoration, really nice place and customer service was good. I got the chicken sandwich which was good and fries were amazing. My significant one got 3&3 meal (3 wings, 3 chicken tenders) and was a little bit disappointed. Wings did not taste fresh and tenders were really salty. She also loved the fries and the sauce variety. The tenders are tossed in a sauce after frying which leaves you with wet chicken. If you opt for the meal, count your fries as mashed potatoes because the wet chick and left over sauce is poured in the container which causes the thin cut fries to become wet and ughhh! Typically, people cannot go wrong with fried pickles. Well, Slim Chickens did. Pickles are already salted but to batter them with a seasoned batter makes the experience of eating the them not worth it. I ordered $50 of food and my hubby and son typically eat what I don't finish. We threw away much of the food last night and no one wanted anything from anyone. Usually, the chances are slim I will return to a good establishment when the food is not great but here is no chance I will ever go here. Stick to Wing Stop, Cane's or Zaxby. Just finished up our first taste of Slim Chickens in Schertz on FM3009. (I'll just up front say why I finished the meal .. I'm a T1 diabetic & had already taken insulin so I was on "the clock". Meaning regardless of how it tastes..gotta hork it down however it may be) . We ordered the regular cripsy chicken sandwich ($4.99) and the Buffalo Crispy chicken sandwich ($5.99) along with a side of Fried Mushrooms that we split for our first try. I know that they just recently opened up, so I will try back in a month, but was not impressed. Everything...and I mean everything...was overseasoned.. My wife just handed me her halves and then went to find something to get the salty taste of it out of her mouth. My first bite of the mushroom I snuck before handing her I stifled an "oh sh*t" to avoid influencing her. (Just in case my tastebuds were off-it happens) The breading on everything was so salty that it left your mouth having a bitter flavor. (again I would have taken it back if I had't already injected insulin). Now I have had Bush's Chicken a time or two that has been slightly overseasoned (which was the complete opposite of Canes.. no seasoning whatsoever)ut never like this. But before the oversalting took over our pallets the barest hint of goodness poked through. That is the most positive thing I can say about it...every restaurant has a bad day..it happens. The greatest positives that can be said were, the restaurant was very clean, smelled nice, and the staff was super friendly and efficient despite being busy. I really hope this was a fluke. The 'shrooms ($5.49) were ehhh okay but overseasoned by far as well... (salt lick if we're honest). All in all for a first try, if I could give them a half star I would, it did NOT represent good value for the money when there are better competitors out there. Wasn't even there 1 minute with nobody in view of coming thru the drive thru when the fat manager told us very rudely we couldn't stand there and we were actually walking away. We both couldn't go into the restaurant and our phones were acting up so we couldn't look up the menu(we tried it on our phones before we very quickly glanced at the drive thru menu). I got my three tiny tenders and realized that they are not seasoned with the wing sauce...bummer! My three chicken wings were so tiny...what happened? These took about half a bite each to finish off, and hot!? It could have been called mild-maybe flavor and I would have been skeptical. Lame. The fried pickles were so salty (and I don't mind salt) that they were not good. Too thin to get crispy and the batter was okay, the yere so thin it was mostly super salty fried batter with a hint of pickle. The sweat tea was again too mild and just okay. The inside was nice, big booths, long tables, nice and bright, tons of paper towels and some TVs scattered around playing sports. I don't know...just bummed me out. The wings were okay a little overcooked and the tenders were good, put you in the mind of cane's. I had fries as my side which were greasy and I tried the jar Reese's cheesecake which was delicious. My total came out to a little over 15$. I probably won't be back since it was nothing outstanding about it. The sauces were okay but it wasn't anything I haven't tried before.
