Bangers and mashed

We went for Dining under the stars. They had an abbreviated menu that we were not prepared for. Half the drink menu was not available Food was ok Burger probably a bit under cooked Wings. Fine and very basic. Bacon flatbread with leeks and balsamic glaze Bangers and mashed. Personally I didn't like the spices in the sausage Family liked the Irish nachos the best. Personally I didn't.

Stopped in randomly for lunch with friends (our original choice was closed until the dinner hour). We were pretty hungry and pub food sounded good. It was seat yourself and the bartender also acted as waiter (probably due to the time of day, otherwise I'd assume they have wait staff). We didn't wait long for our food to come out (once we finally decided on our meals). Everyone enjoyed the flavor, textures, and quantity of food that came out. Beer selection was good (obviously...) and they had Irish beers available - very "on theme". All in all, if you're not looking for something fancy, want some comfort food and a good beer, and like having games on the screens above the bar AND a random but excellent playlist going in the background check this place out. Staff was friendly and prompt!

Came here for lunch on a Saturday. The place was almost empty at the time, so it was very nice to have the place all to ourselves. Service was prompt and pleasant. The decor is very classy. Nice draught beer list, and great menu options for everyone. But if you're here, you have to try the Irish food! We had the Guinness Beef Stew and the Fish and Chips. Both were outstanding. And to top it off, the bartender made a great half-and-half! Next time I'm in Media, this will be my choice for dinner or drinks!

We have always walked across Sligo but a couple of days ago we decided to try it out. We were greeted by a Happy bartender and despite being a busy afternoon, our orders were on our tables in no time. The food and drinks were spot on, the crowd was great and I our waitress was very pleasant. Not expensive. Overall it's a great bar/ restaurant to hang with your friends.

*Event space review, I have never dined here otherwise* This might be my forever event space!!! I don't know how I found this hidden gem but I'm glad I did and I absolutely love it. This place was not super expensive and the room did not need much decorations at all! The event coordinator was very responsive even though she was on vacay when I initially made my request. She was very patient with my silly questions and very accommodating to my last last minute changes! When booking we booked for 30 ppl and approximately 20 showed up. We had more than enough food for our guests... We did the wings, crab balls, and fries. The wings were a little dry but the sauces provided helped with that. We did open bar and let me just let u know that 2hrs was moooooore than enough time even though I wished we could spread that out through the night. And our bartender Brianna was EVERYTHING. She could manage the whole bar and remember what I ordered and kept them coming... she was very helpful prior to guest arrival. Overall, good space and even better time!!! I will be back!

I was with a group of friends in Media on a Saturday and got a recommendation from a friend to try this bar out. It wasn't too crowded, which I was surprised about but it also wasn't even 8 pm yet. More and more people filled in as time passed, but it never got too crowded. We stuck to beer and tried some that I haven't seen at other bars. I went with the flight so I could get a taste of a few of the beers on tap. There was a short seasonal draft list for this sampler, so my mind was made up quickly. I really liked the wolf pup session IPA by Golden Road Brewing Co. I also got to taste a chocolate peanut butter porter that strayed from my usual preference in beer. They have Guinness blends and Smithwick's, which is my favorite beer but usually not seen on tap. I will come to this bar again if I'm in the area and craving a quiet night for conversation. I would love to see what the food is like, and have a few pints of Smithwick's with it!

Thankful it's a non-smoking bar, which is a bit hard to find here in PA. Casual, comfortable - I liked it.

We got seated right behind the live music and I'm so glad we asked to move since we got the cozy fireplace table and there's no way we could have heard eachother otherwise. The chairs were weirdly uncomfortable and seemed a mix of styles. When everything else called to be cozy that was an odd misstep in a cold winter night. They were out of a handful of things but they did have a super extra special menu to try. We had to sample the mashed potato balls but honestly they were dense and dry without a lot of flavor. If you mixed with the sauce they were ok but don't really recommend. The stews were amazing, and the shepherds pie will absolutely take you back to the island, and huge portions. The yak burger really tasted great but it was one of those "too huge to fit" type of burgers so be aware. The desserts really weren't inspiring so we skipped. This is very popular and the bar area was totally packed when we headed out. I'd say worth going but ask for where you want to sit and be prepared to just take awhile.

A live guitarist was setting up for the evening in the space between the two rooms. He started playing just after we were seated, and it was a bit loud from the proximity, but a member of our party asked if we could move. After checking with the hostess, we were whisked away to a cozier table by the room's fireplace. Given the cold weather, it was quite nice. That table also had some more comfortable seats, so I'm glad they could accommodate the switch. Our server was quite personable, and took good care of us as we ordered drinks and waited for the rest of our group. She did need to check on some menu items and they had some sold our dishes, but there were plenty of options still. When the food came, one of our entrees had a small mix up, but it was resolved before the rest of our food made it out. My shepherd's pie filling was deliciously rich. The mashed potatoes on top were broiled to crispy perfection. I didn't love the bread on the side, but I had more than enough pie to fill me up. Overall, I'd love to go back and try some other menu options.

I've never been disappointed with my food here, and you like pub fare you're sure to find something on the menu that will hit the spot. The brisket grilled cheese was phenomenal (though more meat than cheese) and their roast pork rivals anything you'll find in the city. They have a wide variety of options on tap too. Worth checking out.

I ordered the roast beef sandwich with fries...my friend ordered muscles and the ham sandwich special. The muscles arrived cold. Not warm, not tepid...just cold. They were sent back for a trip in the microwave which is a place that shellfish should never journey too...if you want them to remain tender. When I ordered, I asked about a few items and was assured that "people love the roast beef". Now I've had "French Dip" style roast beef before at other restaurants, and when done right...it's a memorable experience. Crusty toasted torpedo style roll brimming with thinly sliced hot beef...provolone cheese melted over the top and down the sides...served with a side of au jus dipping sauce, that you would want to slurp down a soup bowl full. But this...was not that! The sandwich arrived on a hamburger style bun...the meat was piled "adequately" in the center but sloped off considerably as it headed for the edge of the bun. There was no need to worry about meat falling out as I took a bite...as none of it protruded past the buns edge. The cheese was there...a single uninspired round slice covered the cold and somewhat soggy bottom of the bun... and wasn't melted...at all! I suspect that the kitchen assumed that the meat would melt the cheese...but the meat would have to be hot for that to happen. In this sandwich...the closer you got to the middle of the "meat mound"...the colder it got. And little did I know when asked if I wanted provolone on the sandwich...that it would be an additional charge. Now for my fries. They weren't hot...they weren't even warm...they were "ice cold"! I sent them back light heartedly joking that there must be a door open in the kitchen (it was a cold evening) and the server returned shortly with hot fresh ones...minus the pickles that were on my plate. This goes to show that fries can reach the table...hot. The hot ham and cheese sandwich "special", served on a pretzel bun, wasn't hot...and wasn't special. I saw no melted cheese...only thin dry slices of ham, stiff as roofing shingles, protruded from the roll. There was no mustard...no sauce...no "something special" to make the "special", special... just stiff little sad ham planks...wondering where they went wrong On both recent visits...the service has been "spotty". (I know that cell service in the pub isn't spotty, because on my first visit...both servers had their heads buried in their phones). It doesn't seem like there's a real system in place for insuring that the customers receive "attentive" service. To their credit...they did remove the muscles from the check without us asking...but I never got a feeling that the next party to walk through the door...would have a better experience. When you find a good local pub with great food...it's like going to eat at grandmas house. You know that you'll always leave feeling warm, wanted, and fed really well. And you'll be excited by the thought of a return visit. I'm still looking.

The staff said that is from the bar drains that are in that corner. Try to stay away from that end. The bar area also has a stage area where there is live entertainment some evenings, ranging from open mic, live bands, quizzo, DJ/dance floor, and karaoke. They also have a large screen they use to broadcast major sporting events. The restaurant tables are typical casual dining style with a mixture of free standing tables and chairs. There are separate areas for larger groups and private parties. The staff is friendly and attentive. As they get to know you, they remember your name and your usual food and drink orders. Kudos to the bartenders for knowing what "up" means! I always get my goto drink, Grey Goose up with a twist, prepared properly and generously here. Can't say that about some bars in Delco I have been to--either incorrect or overpriced. The food is overall typical for a casual dining/bar. There are some must-try items on the menu. If you like crabmeat, the Norwood tots are a different twist with how to have crabmeat. Creative! The pizzas are pretty good as well. I am very much a "purist" when it comes to what a pizza should be made of, but the cauliflower-crust is my exception. I haven't had good pizza in Delco until I had the cauliflower-crust pizza. A thin, crispy crust! Not the thick, doughy crust that I have encountered with most Delco pizza places. For those that don't like cauliflower, have no fear. The cauliflower-crust pizza does not taste like cauliflower. You would not know it contains cauliflower. There are also some great specials I have enjoyed. One special I really loved was the halibut with risotto. I could eat that EVERY day! I come here pretty often. I have come here for lunch, dinner, drinks, and held my 50th birthday party here. Always a good experience.
