My wife suggested I try this place for lunch yesterday. She had originally experienced Slick Fork at a recent wedding rehearsal dinner. That's all she kept talking about when she got home. Beautiful rehearsal and amazing food. We went yesterday and I was impressed. Yes, the cost is a bit on the high side, but I sell meat for a living. I know what it cost these days to buy the darn stuff. They are right in the ballpark and fair. Not to mention, you can take an entire half of your meal home for dinner, the same night. So, even though some reviewers, think it is costly, you actually can feed yourself twice. Delicious, fresh, great job on the meat. Can't wait to go back. As far as customer service, the kid at the counter was polite and nice. Kind of quiet, but my wife stood there, talking to him for a long time. He was just a more reserved young man. Stopped by yesterday at 3:00pm, not sure this awesome BBQ would be open. They had trip-tip left, potato salad, baked beans, corn bread & peach cobbler. This is the best BBQ house in our area. I went slick fork and ordered 2 combos and I do have to say I won't be going back there there coleslaw with runny mayo and potato salad was nothing to call potato salad and the Mac & cheese was dry and the meat was dry to and for the price I was upset if the food would have been better I wouldn't mind paying good money it kinda like they gave me some leftovers reheated. But I will say that the meat was really tender I will say that. I was going to give them a 0 but since they meat was tender I give 1 star. read more

So, I've heard of this great BBQ joint in Hughson From some friends...and WOW!! they weren't kidding! First the smell gets you as you're driving by. Then you see this great looking place right on Sante Fe Ave. I got the Pork(4) rib plate with coleslaw for $10. Side of beans, Mac n cheese and potato salad. Ribs were cooked and seasoned perfect! Didn't need any bbq sauce! All the sides were delicious! Exactly what I'd expect from a BBQ joint! Most places miss the mark on different dishes, but Slick Fork BBQ hits them all! This place is delicious. Sell out super quick so get there early. Ribs are juicy and dry rubbed with a heathy dose of seasoning. Pulled pork was juicy without loosing the pork. Tri tip was over done from where I like it but was still moist and ok. Wife loved the tri tip but my choice is Brisket. They kept it juicy nice smoke flavor. You won't find better BBQ than this place! I've never been disappointed when we go. My favorites are the brisket, baked beans, and the to die for corn bread. I remember trying this place out couple years ago and I enjoyed it, I think. Decided to stop by with my girlfriend after telling her how great it is. I ordered a brisket sandwich with potato Salad and she ordered the rib plate. Looked really good when opening up the containers, but that's it...it looked good lol. I grabbed my sandwich and the bread was room temperature, like it was grabbed straight out of a bag and not even warmed up. Slightly below room temperature. Ok not a problem, it's only bread right ? One bite of my sandwich and it was a slap in the face. Dry meat. The only thing that gave it moisture was the cheap tasting bbq sauce . Complete disappointment, I wasn't talking at all, silence....my girlfriend already knows what that means lol. Didn't even finish the other sloppy half of the sandwich. Made it over to try this place based off the reviews. I wasn't impressed at all. Expensive and small portions and just average tasting. The baked beans were not to my liking.
