Detroit Style Rosa Pizza Slice
Steve M.

I would like to say that I think the mgmt heard me! I rolled in on a recent Saturday and the place was busy yet clean, I got the second to last Detroit style Motorhead slice! But low and behold, they had another four slices come out as soon as I was given mine. I have finally been able to try it and snagged a road one haha. The bacon is the perfect crispness, not burnt and not floppy, the rocotta cheese was the right amount so it wasn't messy with that flavorful tomato sauce. The basil was fresh and paired with the salami and pepperoni, it all hit the spot and I'd say my fav slice to date. Thank you Slice House team for the continued great service and quality pizzas! They have definetly earned the five stars!

Looks okay, far from true NY style.

First of all, I lived in SF for years and think Tony's in North Beach is the best in the country, so while on a business trip in Boise, I tried his new slice house. I was pretty psyched, and I ordered a medium (12") pepperoni from the hotel. I drove around 20 minutes to get to the restaurant and was told it would be another 20-25 minutes. I was offered a water cup, and sat down to wait. No worries, I have no problem with waiting on good food, but I think my pizza sat for a while. I finally (35-40 minutes later) went back to the counter and was handed my pie. It was plenty warm, but not hot. The cheese, sauce and meat were all good, it did remind me of Tony's, but it didn't compare. The crust was very mid, and the undercarriage was more charred than I expected. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. The price was okay, heck, I paid $50, including tax and tip, for my last real Tony's pizza, so I'll gladly pay premium prices for premium pizza. This was $27, including tax and tip. The time and price would have been fine, if the pie lived up to it's name, but it missed the mark.

Pizzas by the slice

Walked in on a Monday before the lunch crowd hit and this place was ready. The pizzas looked delicious. I loved the welcoming feel and the pizza box art on the walls was fun to look at. This restaurant has indoor and patio seating. They do offer an appetizer menu as well as other italian specialties but for my first visit I wanted to try some basic pizza slices. So I ordered up a slice of the grandma style pizza, sweet gino and a slice of the NY peperoni. Before I filled my soft drink my pizza slices were promptly reheated and delivered to my table with my small box as I knew by the size of the slices I would need to share. The crust on both were excellent as I immediately cut each slice in half. The bottom crust was crispy and not doughy. I dug into half of the NY slice first. It passed the NY fold test and the pepperoni were the wonderful thin cupping peperoni that clung to the cheese for each bite. It was delicious. I moved onto the Grandma slice which is square and a little thicker but still had the crispy not soggy crust. The sauce was sweet and the mozzarella and basil were freshly sliced. For 20$ including soda and tip these 2 slices were more than enough for myself and for hubby at home who mowed them down with no reheat. We will add this to our pizza rotation. I really do think this style of pizza is best eaten right out of the oven in the restaurant but that's my personal preference. Lots of toppings and types of pizza slices...something for everyone.

My husband told me about this pizza joint while I was in Utah healing from my kidney transplant. Now that I'm back, of course I'm going to bring my husband here for pizza. Pizza is his favorite food and after his physical therapy appointment today, he most definitely deserved it. I did check out the menu online first. I got myself the meatballs today. My husband got a whole cheese Detroit style pizza. He had some options with the pre made pizzas but you can tell they were sitting for a while. Non of them looked fresh. With his first experience here, he had to get a fresh pizza. We got ourselves situated while our food was being prepared. I love the red walls here. I also adore all the custom designed pizza boxes. It is such a neat way to show someone's creativity with a pizza box. Every box was different and unique. My meatballs came out first. I got 6 hearty meatballs in a pasta bowl. It was topped with a little parmesan and fresh basil. Eating my first meatball, I noticed that it wasn't really hot. I wish that that wasn't the first thing I noticed. It was savory and rich. The sauce was delicious and bright. I finished my first meatball and couldn't handle how luke warm they were. I asked one of the gals if they could just nuke it in the microwave. I was so hungry that I didn't care if they had to microwave it. Microwaving wasn't an option so I was told that they were going to make me a new plate. While I was waiting for my meatballs, my husband's cheese Detroit style pizza came out. His pizza was perfection. It had crusty cheese on the edges of the pizza. Mozzarella covered every inch of it. There was a gracious amount of marinara on top of the pizza. It was cut into 4 big slices but realistically, who can properly eat that big of a slice? It would have been nice if it was cut into 8 pieces or if a plate was given to my husband to eat off of. I ended up cutting it into smaller slices for him with a plastic knife. Lol humorous really when they have a nice pizza cutter in the kitchen. My second round of meatballs came out. The temperature of my second round was just as disappointing as my first. I have come to the conclusion that the meatballs were preheated, sitting in a warmer and just topped with "warm" sauce when they are ordered. I clearly asked for hotter meatballs but I guess that was too much to ask for. I ended up eating one more luke warm meatball and boxed up the rest. I'll enjoy them later when I can actually heat them up. Frustrating since I was hungry, ready to eat and now I have to wait till I get home to eat. We live on the other end of town so getting to them wasn't going to be anytime soon. My husband did enjoy his pizza. It was cheesy. The crust was thick and soft. He enjoyed the pizza sauce. The edges of the cheese and crust was my favorite. I'm happy he got to enjoy his pizza when it was nice and hot. The customer service of this pizza joint was good. Everyone working was nice and kind. I did ask one of the gals working if I can get a knife and a fork that wasn't in the communal plastic ware bin. She was sweet and grabbed fresh plastic ware out of the boxes for me. The venue is bright and inviting. I wish the food could have been up there. I had my husband's crust so I can't really review on the pizza. My meatballs were so disappointing not once but twice. If we come back, we will probably order my husband his pizza but I'll pass on the meatballs. There is nothing worse than being catfished by your food.

Wiseguy. Sausage, pepperoni, ricotta and mozzarella, hot pepper oil and green onion.

Always love a good slice. Stopped in today to finally try this place. Nice restaurant. Love the customized boxes on the walls, especially in a pizza restaurant. We tried three different slices and liked them all. Quality ingredients for sure. Crusts were all really good. We love the cupping pepperoni. What would I like to see different? Any chance you'd do a slice and salad option? Maybe it's a thing and I just didn't notice it. It was enough pizza for a late lunch but some greens on the side would be a great thing and a healthy choice and feel a bit more like a complete meal. Thanks for having Pepsi products.

Chicken bacon ranch- Detroit style

GREAT pizza!! We are long time fans of Slice House! We've dined numerous times when we lived in Vegas.....we'd drive from Summerlin area to the Henderson location. One of my sons lives in Walnut Creek and I introduced your pizza a few years ago to him. He's a regular. Tough parking at times but it's "the creek." Your corporate employee Tom worked the crowd very professionally with abundance of knowledge about the history of this fine company. I sell wine so marketing is huge! Not just another NY pizza!!! 5 stars always.

I was invited to the "Soft" opening and I wanted to share my experience with you. I would have given it a 5 star but need to reserve that for Fine dining.. (My own thing) This is a casual pizza joint with a great outdoor patio. You just walk up, place your order, and they deliver it right to your table. They have a full menu, including salads, wine, and beer! It's brand new, so it's super clean, comfortable, and well-laid out. The General Manager, Ken, was there and was super friendly and helpful. If you're a pizza person, you really need to check this out! I had the "Tomato Pie," which is a New Jersey-style pizza with tomato sauce over sliced mozzarella, garlic, and basil. The crust was cooked to perfection, and the balance of flavors from the tomato sauce, garlic, and cheese was amazing. The basil on top was freshly chopped, which was really good. My friend ordered the "SIC Traditional," which looks like a deep-dish pizza. It had tomato sauce, mozzarella, thick and thin cut pepperoni, and Italian sausage. One slice was about a meal! Again, it was outstanding. As I mentioned, if you're a pizza person, you have to give this a try. They have so many different styles that you're sure to find your favorite. I can't wait to go back!

Grandma style
Helene D.

If you want well-rounded (or square) pizza, this is the place. Besides it always being busy (shocker), it just shows how amazing this place and their pizza really is. I loved all the pizza styles they offer. Grandma style was one I haven't tried before and has become my favorite. In the end, you truly can't go wrong with any of the styles. Grandma style is a tad thicker than New York style but has an extra crisp and crunch which I love. Staff was welcoming to us despite the chaotic line of people. The place is a bit small and I hope they expand or open a new area soon because of how fast the population is growing and their obsessed hungry customers that are constantly coming back. Their tomato sauce is one of the best I have taste as well as the breading. Loved their topping choices and options on their menu. Can't wait for next visit

A reservation was made and we made our way in Saturday to celebrate. My husband and I were late arriving cause of work. But my family and friends got drinks and apps started. I wasn't expecting them to wait but I'm happy that they did! The drinks and apps kept them at bay till we arrived. The venue is stunning! I love the decor here. I have always been intrigued with European vintage decor and this restaurant is beautifully devoted decorated with this kind of esthetic. Such a romantic setting. The rich deep red wall. The ornate vintage frames. The plants. It's truly a beautiful set up. After my husband and I got settled in and drinks ordered, we got dinner placed. I got 2 orders of meatballs and my husband got the seafood pasta. While food was being worked on, everyone shared the bread and balsamic olive oil dip that was on the table. I heard the bread was good. I didn't get a chance to try it since it was communal. Our meals were slowly trickling out. My meatballs looked amazing! My husband's plate looked fabulous. You can see the shrimp, mussels, clams.... We all became quiet and started on our meals. My meatballs were huge! I have had meatballs at other restaurants and have been hungry still. The size of these babies let me know I was not going to have that issue. It was nicely covered in marinara. A hearty covering of parmesan. Everything about the meatballs were great! I have severe fomo so of course I had to try my husband's plate. I tried a couple of his penne. I was really thrown back at the heat of the sauce. I tried another bite and it was still spicy. The spice was something neither one of us were expecting. Before I say anything to our server, I did look over the menu to see if we missed anything in the description of the dish. No chili was listed. Nothing about it being garnished with chili flakes. From reading the menu, no spice was described in the dish. My husband has a real sensitive pallet so I asked the manager/owner why spice wasn't indicted in the menu. We wouldn't have ordered it if there was. The manager said they can remove the sauce and add new sauce that didn't have chili flakes in it. "It would make it less spicy." I was actually surprised he didn't suggest a new dish that didn't have heat in it. We were complaining about the heat and I honestly don't think replacing sauce that has spice in it with new sauce with spice will do anything.... but hey, we went with it. The second dish was made and dropped off. Unfortunately, the sauce was still spicy and my husband could barely eat it. He ate the seafood which was a few pieces of shrimp, clams, bay scallops, mussels and fish. This dish was drowned in this sauce so there was no way to eat the seafood with the sauce. This dish is 34 bucks and my husband could barely finish the seafood. Our server was kind and got me birthday dessert. The chocolate cake was killer good! It wasn't overly sweet. The frosting was rich in chocolate and the cake was super moist. I only took a couple bites and took the rest home. I was not going to leave this bad boy behind. We spent a little over 70 dollars on dinner to have my husband leave hungry. I came home and made him a second dinner. Nothing more disappointing than spending that much money just to come home and eat again. Money is tight for everyone so the fact that we chose to come here and spend our heard earned money to have my husband hungry just makes my heart sad. Overall, my meatballs and cake were good. Service was great. The venue is very pretty. But, having my husband eat a meal that was poorly described in the menu is just disappointing and having him leave husband is upsetting. I'm happy I got to try it out but I don't think we will be hitting up this joint again any time soon.

Her name leads these comments because it was the…read morequality of her friendly and efficient service that made all the difference for what was only the second visit to an Olive Garden my hubby and I have ever made and the last one was 26 years ago in a suburb of Portland, Oregon. (I assume this was before Reese was born.) It was such a bad experience for food that we said "never EVER again" and we have not been tempted to break that vow until a couple of weeks ago, We were feeling just shy of starving at a lunch time and drove by this relatively new OG location and noticed the parking lot was uncharacteristically empty so in we went to give it a try as the option between us and starvation. SERVICE: When Reese asked if we had been to Olive Garden before and we told her how long it had been in between visits, it was as if it was her personal mission to ensure we enjoyed this lunch. And we did. Her service for timing and attention was perfect. EATS: The lunch menu has some great prices and serving sizes right in our lane of being enough but not too much. My husband is Sicilian heritage (both sides were immigrants) and grew up in an Italian neighborhood in Brooklyn so he is particular about Italian food by both nature and nurture. That shared, we both found the food and sauces to be good enough to enjoy eating it again if we were in the area at a similar time. We also appreciated the nice touch of salad plates arriving at the table chilled and the salad bowl, we both ordered salad with our lunch given the option of "...our soup", had fresh ingredients and had been tossed with just the right amount of dressing. (I think servers do the salad bowl prep here.) A chain restaurant is never destination dining for us, but this food was better than a Italian wanna-be restaurant (I'm looking at you Nick's in Meridian) we suffered through a couple of months ago. VIBE: I imagine all OG restaurants are about the same inside given the chain nature of them. Clean, bright, some corporate design vision of Italian surrounds. Pleasant. PARKING: The strip mall located parking lot looks huge but you'd be surprised how many times we have driven by here to see it packed. ACCESSIBILITY: Several ADA spots in the lot. Level in from sidewalk through the door. Some tables are accessible to wheelchair users.

We had a wonderful experience with a large catering order for a large party…read more Elizabeth Fraley, Kinder Ready
