Words can't describe the back pain i have every day as a result of this bed. I spent $7500 for the top of the line bed and adjustable base. I've tried every setting to date and still haven't found comfort. This is the biggest scam I've ever encountered. I kept thinking that i had the wrong setting and really wanted to explore this product in hopes to find the perfect setting. I kept it past the partial return/ refund date in hopes to accomplish this. What a joke! I've found nothing but pain. My back is worse than it's ever been. I tried to sell the bed, but the best offer i could get was $1000. At this point, i'm thinking of taking the $1k just to be done with this mattress once and for all. For the sake of your back, your sleep, and your sanity, stay away from this terribly overpriced bed of lies!!! read more

Very nice in the store but once you have an issue it's not their problem anymore - and their customer service is horrible. I spent almost $3000 on a bed - and at first it worked fine - but then we had to raise the numbers increasingly to where 100 wasn't hard enough. Then you spend hours listening to music waiting for someone to answer - or go to chat and twice was disconnected by them in mid conversation... so tired of hearing " your call is important to us "... so you have to know that supposedly the warranty is 100% the first year - and 65% after, goes down from there - so even though our problem started in the first year we got pushed back again and again with small suggestions - nothing worked and now they want us to pay $200 for a pump (and more if we had a technician come to do it) - really?! Save yourself the headaches and do not get this mattress. It's given us more backaches than it could possibly remedy. I spent again 2 hours on the phone today with someone who kept telling me how important my concerns were.. and thought she put me on hold saying "let me speak to a manager" - she didn't actually disconnect me though so I could hear background voices - and her silence .. she came back saying she spoke to a manager and unfortunately they can't do anything.. though she personally totally understands ... at least give me a "so are you going to the game this weekend?" So I can relive the Fargo scene ---- twice I got "can I put you on hold 3 more minutes so I can speak to a manager" and both times she kept me connected somehow... so I heard she wasn't speaking with anyone at all. Then she came back and said "I did everything I could to resolve this but unfortunately my system won't allow me to give you any discount.." really ? I said then let me speak to the manager... again "Just let me put you on hold" and again, silence on her end with background noises - and she realized i was still there and was clearly embarrassed. So then she transferred me over to a manager saying it should be 2 to 3 minutes wait time -- it ended up being 40 minutes additional wait time -- to another person who contradicted what the first person had told me -- and wanted to charge me over $300 for foam instead of the pump - stressing there is no refund -- so if it doesn't work, too bad for me, right? This review is based solely on the exceptional customer service I received from Dominic and Jade. I generally knew which bed model I wanted, but Dominic took the time to explain all the features of the bed. Dominic and Jade were incredibly knowledgeable, professional, yet still very friendly. We just received our bed and are adjusting to it. The service at the store was wonderful! Julio was very attentive and after we made our purchase he's texted us to check in before the delivery and after the delivery. I would definitely recommend Julio to anyone who wants good service with lots of info and little pressure. He gave us lots of info and answered all of our questions. He also gave us lots of time on our own to think and discuss our decision about the bed. Very torn on this review bc the service was good and I like the bed BUT they push you towards financing with Synchrony Bank. 0% APR so it makes sense to go for it. What they don't tell you (and didn't seem to know when I called customer service and the store) is that it is financing on a credit card which will show that you have outstanding debt for years and will absolutely drop your credit score. When I called the store they said it shouldn't count as credit debt, but it 100% does. Good bed, but only buy it if you're paying in full. Never buy a sleep number. I am 63 years old and have had my 7000 dollar bed one year and two weeks. It goes flat. 3 times a night. They want me to get on the floor and disconnect the hoses and plug them to diagnose the problem. Could you imagine if you had a new car that wouldnt start and toyota said push it and try and jump start it so we can figure it out then send a guy over to your house for 100 bucks two weeks from now to hopefully put in the right parts. A lot of regret, one star. Service: Standard - not bad, not amazing. Price: We purchased the C4 Queen size mattress. Given that it's not a cheap bed, you'd expect some good sleep, but it's average at best. Product: As I previously mentioned, it's average at best, but the worst part is its reliability. I have had this bed for three years, and I have already replaced both the left and right air chambers. One year after replacing it, the left side is already deflating on its own. For a company that prides itself in providing quality sleep, their product is doing a terrible job. I called in last year and asked the representative "How long is the bed suppose to last?", she replied, "25 years". It's a HUGE red flag if it's barely passing 2-3 years. Glorified air mattress. Note to potential buyers: You're better off searching for a traditional mattress that's a fraction of the price and much more dependable. I urge you to learn from my mistake and to think twice about buying. I'll be on the hunt for a new mattress, soon. read more

This review pertains only to the corporate ONLINE customer service person, not the Serremonte retail location. This was the only place I could find to put in a review. I called 800 number for replacement parts as our controller broke (VERY cheaply made). We've had our bed for less than one year. The CSR answered right away, was polite and had good customer service skills; and immediately offered to replace the controller and send 2-day mail at no cost to us. Was expecting to be on hold for 30 minutes or more (my experience previously) so was pleasantly surprised at not having to wait and not having to pay to replace our controller. If sleep number had more people like her and improved their parts quality, they'd get high marks all around. Meh, just meh. The concept is neat, but the sales person was slightly awkward and extremely pushy. Explained multiple times we could not purchase that day because we need to formally measure the bedroom in our new apartment (because not knowing if the bed will fit is kind of a big deal) and she repeatedly reminded us the sale would be gone. Worst bed ever We have bought the 360 bed a month ago and have been able to sleep in it two nights. First the base broke on the first night and it took two weeks for replacement. The replacement broke the first night. In addition the base is not level. They added shims to correct the problem but a $10k bed should not need shins. I bought an adjustable bed from sleep number that has put off a horrible smell since it was delivered. The sales person at this store assured us that any odors would air out within a week -- not true. It has now been three months and it smells like chemicals in our bedroom. The company has done nothing for us to try to fix the problem, despite multiple calls and e-mails to them. They even declined to share information about the chemicals that are being released into the air by the materials in their bed and upholstery bed frame. You know you are dealing with an disreputable company when their response to a request about product safety information is "Well, by law we don't need to tell you." I should also add that they removed a previous review I posted on Yelp. Also beware of GE Capital, the company they use for financing....another shady company that sells your information to anyone who wants it. read more

I have never dealt with a company with such poor customer service. I bought a sleep number dual comfort mattress pad for my wife's birthday. I was told it would be delivered in two weeks; I gave them three weeks as I wanted it to be delivered on my wife's birthday. Three days before delivery I was called and told it would arrive as promised. Then 1 day before delivery I was again called and told the product had never left the warehouse and it would be delivered in another 2 weeks. I called their customer service line and told them my situation and asked if I could pick it up at one of their warehouses. I was told this was not possible. I went to the store and spoke to the manager; he was very nice, but said the company does not allow the stores to give any discounts. Another call to customer service and I asked if there was any compensation for their mistake as I am now having to drive around looking for another gift for my wife. Bottom line this company has horrible customer service, they offered no compensation, made no amends whatsoever for their mistake. They did not care how their mistakes affect their customers. I cancelled my order and am glad to have no dealings with this company. I read their stock is not doing well, due to low demand of their product, it is not surprising as they do not know the meaning of customer service. read more

i guess there is nothing new about what I am about to say. I was told the bed will come in for about two weeks and after 1 month it was finally scheduled to be delivered. The day of delivery we waited for about 4 hours, no one came so we decided to call. They responded by saying that they left a voice mail to reschedule the delivery for another week. i never receive a call from this people. I complained to customer service about the situation and I was told that they can have a supervisor call me back. Again no one called back. What started as a good experience unfortunately ended up being a terrible one for me and my wife. The salesman misled us and told us we could make interest-free payments for "X" amount of months. Unknown to us, this wasn't the case, and the interest-free promotion expired earlier than when he stated. He even calculated the amount of money we should pay each month so we could supposedly pay off the bed without paying any interest! The hassle definitely was not worth it! read more

Never have I dealt with a more sneaky company than this. They don't tell you about the lengthy wait for the bed until after the deal is sealed, they don't show you the fine print on the return policy until after the deal is sealed. Our bed is minimally comfortable but for an extra fee (lots of $) they will sell us additional foam to put inside the mattress ~ I don't think so. Also, you MUST wait 30 to 45 days to get a return authorization and then pay $199.99 to have the bed picked up. Unless of course you can take all the pieces apart and package it just as it was when delivered. Customer service, up-front honesty and a quality product are all lacking! read more

Run Away. Now. You have been warned. My experience within the store in the Serramonte Center was perfectly fine. The salesman was really nice and not pushy. I ended up purchasing the p5 queen mattress set. The salesman said that I would get a call to set up the delivery. It all goes downhill fast from here. The week after the purchase, I get the call to set up the delivery. I schedule the delivery per Sleep Number's suggested delivery date roughly two weeks out and am confirmed for that day. A little less than a week later, I get another call from Sleep Number to set up delivery. I tell them I already have a delivery set up for next week. After a long pause, I am told that although they can see a confirmed delivery date for me, that really shouldn't have happened because that day was now full. Sleep Number can no longer deliver to me that day. I have to reschedule for another two weeks out. I am annoyed, because now, due to Sleep Number's error, I will not get the mattress until roughly one month after purchase. Four days before scheduled delivery, I call Sleep Number to find out the scheduled delivery time (they only confirmed day prior). They tell me they will call to confirm delivery time 24-48 hours before hand. No confirmation call. I call the day of the scheduled delivery (Saturday). Sleep Number confirms delivery and gives delivery time range of 3-7pm. Delivery men arrive at 3:05pm. Great! Once they arrive, after measuring my bedframe, they tell me that the Sleep Number boxspring/base will not fit in my standard queen bedframe. The salesman assured me that the base would fit any standard bed. I am annoyed, but am told I will be credited the $300 cost of the base. Also, the delivery men tell me that although I requested pick up of my existing old mattress, they do not have room on the truck to pick it up. This annoys me further, but the delivery men say they will leave the mattress outside my house on the driveway and pick it up on Monday. Monday: I arrive home and old mattress is still in the driveway. Tuesday: I call Sleep Number about old mattress in driveway and confirm credit for base. Sleep Number tells methey will call me back later that day to confirm pickup of old mattress. I do not receive a call. Wednesday: I call Sleep Number again about old mattress in driveway and confirm credit for base. I am told that they are going through a systemwide upgrade of their server and can do nothing for me. They recommend I call back in a week (!) when the upgrade is complete to schedule pickup of the old mattress and confirm credit for the base. I tell Sleep Number this is unacceptable (mattress sitting in my driveway for at least another week!). Surely they are still delivering beds, can't a driver come and just pick up the old mattress outside my house? I do not need to "schedule an install date" for that. I am told they have no way to contact their drivers during the upgrade (What?!?!). Again I say this is unacceptable and ask to speak to a supervisor. Supervisor gets on phone. She says same thing. Again I say it is unacceptable. I am forwarded to the "CEO's voicemail box" and I leave a message explaining the situation and my unhappiness. Wednesday later that day: I get a call for Associate to the CEO #1. He assures me that the systemwide upgrade will be done tomorrow (not one week later) and that someone from Sleep Number will call me schedule pickup of my old mattress and confirm credit for base tomorrow. Wednesday later that day: I get a call for Associate to the CEO #2. He has no idea Associate to the CEO #1 called me and repeats what the original people said, saying I have to wait a week to do anything. Wednesday later that day: I get a call for Associate to the CEO #3. She has no idea Associate to the CEO #1 or #2 called me and leaves me a voicemail message saying she got my original call and to call Sleep Number back to work something out. (I didn't answer this call) Thursday: No call from Sleep Number. Surprise! I call again. This Associate (we will call her #4, but I've talked to more than four by now), says the systemwide upgrade did not complete per schedule so the credit can not happen yet. However, she can call a driver to pick up the old mattress. (Finally, someone at Sleep Number can call their delivery people!) She confirms pick up of the old mattress for tomorrow, Friday. Friday: I get a call from the delivery man to pick up the mattress. I tell them it is in the driveway. So now, 10+ calls later, I finally get my old mattress picked up. BUT......I STILL HAVE TO CALL THEM BACK to confirm a credit for the base. Is the Sleep Number mattress any good? After everything that I've gone through, I will always be slightly annoyed with Sleep Number, no matter how good the mattress may be. And honestly, so far I don't even find it to be better than my old mattress. read more
