What's not to love about the Bolivar Sleep Inn? It's the best place to stay when visiting Bolivar or Zoar, Ohio.

DoubleTree by Hilton Canton Downtown - Guest room

    DoubleTree by Hilton Canton Downtown

Great hotel and super friendly staff!…read more We were in town this weekend for a cousin's college graduation dinner. We have a bunch of family that lives close but decided to book a room since we would be in Canton. Plus, I wanted to see some of the local sites. Checkin is at 4pm but was able to get in a bit early at 3pm. We were warmly greeted with a little gift bag of water and the famous double tree cookies. The hotel was recently renovated and they did an excellent job. It looks great. As a Diamond member, we lucked into a complementary Hilton Honors upgrade to a King Suite! I absolutely love when that happens and really appreciate it. The room was amazing. Comfy bed and plenty of space with the main room, the bedroom, and the bathroom. I really liked that the bathroom had that separate private toilet. If you have the Hilton Honors app you have TV controls built in. The room had a full size ironing board, two HD flatscreens, and a mini fridge. The hotel has an excellent fitness center and an indoor pool. We even worked in some indoor pool time this cold snowy December. I would absolutely stay here again. Only downside was the bedroom thermostat was offline and it was a bit cold (but the living room still worked, and oh there no hot tub. It looked like they made it a planter). We opted for the parking garage for a $8 fee which was so reasonable. Morning coffee is offered in the lobby and good food in the hotel restaurant. Definitely leaving 5 stars for quality and staff!

Based on the mostly good reviews we chose to stay at this hotel. When we arrived the first thing I…read morenoticed is that all the windows, glass doors, elevator buttons, etc. all had lots of fingers prints and generally just looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a while. When we got into our room our AC was not working. Called the front desk and someone came up right away and successfully fixed the AC. As I looked around the room a little more I noticed candy wrappers on the floor and then upon closer inspection there were someone's contacts on the floor and other crumbs - as in the room had not been vacuumed. Everything was dusty. We had an old bar of soap left in the shower. So we called the front desk and they moved us into another room on the same floor. When we got into the next room it smelled better and was cool from the AC. Then I saw old French fries on the floor and again ... someone's contacts under the dusty night stand !! Went down to the front desk to talk to receptionist they said they didn't have anyone there to clean the rooms at that time, but could move us again if we wanted. We were traveling with others at the same time and their room, on the same floor, also had crumbs and dust. We decided to just stay in the room because the bathroom looked clean and 3 rooms in the same shape we didn't have high hopes for anything different from moving again. We were traveling with a toddler and had to clean the floor ourselves. Would not stay here again.

Staying in a millionaires mansion and eating fine food is normally something we only dream about…read more But this place can make that happen on a budget! This place is the best in romantic getaways while you stay in the iconic Longaberger mansion overlooking the town of Dresden

I booked this trip as a Valentine's getaway and had a wonderful time…read more The history and biographical significance of this inn is what drew me to want to stay here. It is the personal home of Dave Longaberger from the Longaberger basket company. My BF's mom was a star seller of these baskets once upon a time so he is very familiar! I booked the fanciest room--The Dresden Suite! High ceilinged, king sized 4-poster bed, fireplace, sitting and desk area, small hallway with back access and a big jetted tub in the middle of the room. Features are great but the building, rooms, carpeting, furniture are quite old and worn. I think due to the age of the building and the lack of staff, the entire place did not feel very clean. Our room was tidy when we checked in but upon closer inspection, corners were dusty, papers and brochures were water stained, carpet was stained in places and peeling. This might have been an oversight but the bathroom didn't have shampoo or body wash stocked. There was liquid hand soap but my BF swears it was watered down and not quite effective. During our 1-night stay here, we only saw one person the whole time working and it was also the owner, Joy. She embodies her name as she warmly pads around suggesting we look around and offered to show us 2 additional rooms, which was fun. We didn't opt for the 4-course dinner that she cooks personally from scratch. It was $100 or something and includes a bottle of wine which would've been wasted since neither of us drink. We went out for dinner but upon getting back to the inn, Joy prepared a dessert for us--so cute! We got a small chocolate lava cake with a scoop of ice cream and a strawberry each! The room was stifling and we were unable to adjust the temperature too much. It was freezing outside yet we had to have the A/C on because of how hot it was in the room. We borrowed 2 of their many DVDs and put it on the background while we intensely played a board game. The next morning, Joy made us a delicious light breakfast. We headed out to the nearby abandoned Longaberger retail ghost town. Oh, and Joy's dog Chewbacca is adorable. She could definitely use a bath and grooming session but she was so friendly!
