Shawn in the Campbell River BC store came through after the Chilliwack store somehow botched up my delivery in spite of ordering and paying 2 + weeks in advance. Shawn disassembled & packaged up the store model platform bed so I didn't have to wait another week and sleep on the floor after my move. He saved the sale and made a new friend. Highly recommend dealing with him. read more

I bought a bamboo cover duvet sheet, and wanted to return it the next day as the color is a bit too shiny and it didn't fit my apartment. The very next day when I was trying to return it the customer service said - oh you opened it therefore you could not return it. And said she highlighted the return policy yesterday when I bought it. I took out the receipt. NO:1 there is the receipt which is the sales receipt and listed on it there says: May return within 30 days blah blah. NO2: there is a longer receipt which is a sales order stapled underneath the sales receipt and in the middle stating - no exchange or return for open items. There was no highlights nor any sort of communications of the return policy when I bought it. And the return policy is ridiculous. I will never buy stuff from sleep country Canada again nor will I recommend any of my friends to get stuff from them neither. read more

Salesperson put the wrong SKU for bed on the purchase order that I had to correct or would have gotten wrong bed. Salesperson did not correctly explain return policy. May 17/25 I purchased a NEW mattress + mattress base by Atigullah at London Ontario Wonderland Road location. June 4/25 The delivery was made and I soon realized that what was delivered was a USED mattress + mattress base. I immediately went to the store to get a bag to wrap the set in and called customer service. July 5/25 After 30 days of storing the used, flea infested merchandise, Sleep Country came to pick up the return. After two follow up calls to inquire about the refund, I was told each time that the Accounting Department would be calling me to get my credit card number to process the full refund. No one called. July 21, 2025 I called Sleep Country again and spoke to Ramya in Customer Service. She took the necessary information from me and processed the refund immediately. Although grateful for her swift resolution, I am so disappointed by the length of time it took and incorrect information I was given. Value of product = 0 Service = 0 read more

If I could do less than 1 star I would. Will never buy from them again. Waranty service at Guelph store was extremely complicated. Excuse was that they have a "different computer program" than the rest of the company. Could not get my account information straight. Took several visits to store to have warranty effected even though it had been approved by customer service. Received a $150 credit for my trouble. Again! Could not use it in the store because of the program issues! Not worth the trouble! Will go elsewhere in the future. read more

I bought a mattress from the Granville street Sleep Country and paid for delivery to my bedroom. Instead of put the mattress on top of my bed frame, the delivery guys left the mattress lean against the wall which is less than 1 step away from the bed frame. They demanded another $33 to get it done. I explained both to the delivery guys and called sleep country later on it is not a bedroom set up. I simply want the mattress to lay on top of the bed than lean against the wall. Both parties refused to help unless I pay another $33. This sounds very much like a scam. The sales clerk (Monica) also told me there is no manager that I can bring this matter to. That is why I am sharing my story here people are aware. Monica promised me there is a coupon upon delivery which was not there. She told me I can go to the store to collect the coupon which is wasting my time and another trip to the store. read more

Buyer be ware of #sleepcountry. Bought a mattress for my daughter 3 years ago with a 10 years warranty. Mattress spring broke down on the side (how the heck does that happen??). Sleepcountry refuses to honor their warranty. Claiming there is a small stain on it which will void the warranty (how has it got anything to do with broken springs??). Daniella, their customer rep is super condescending, claiming it was my responsibility to make sure I also purchased a stain protector (which was never offered to me). #Sleepcountry is a fraud. read more

Purchased a mattress from them 3 Years ago, one coil separated and left a deformation. The Grande Prairie Store looked and said it should be covered under warranty, but I had to submit a claim through their costumer service portal. I did that and a few days later received an email saying warranty was denied with no reasoning. They would not respond so I went back to the store and they reached out. Through all this the company claims it is not warrantable and refuses to respond to me. Worst customer service ever. The Grande Prairie, Alberta store said this was wrong, so they took it upon themselves to provide me with a replacement mattress as they felt it should be covered. Very impressed the store and their staff. So the corporate company gets 1 star and would not recommend, but the Grande Prairie, Alberta store gets a 5 star rating because of their excellent customer service read more

I purchased a Melody, received a Gemma. A thousand dollar cheaper, yet similar looking mattress. I've never slept so horrible in my life. After sleeping on it for 4 nights I went back into store. Guy assured me that everything was fine and that it could take up to 21 days to break in. I explained I appreciate that, however I ordered an ultra plush mattress and the one I have is like ply wood. Oh yes, it just takes time to break in. I was so sore, from the new "ultra plush mattress" that I looked for the tag today and confirmed it was not the mattress I ordered, but a much cheaper mattress. I attended the store as soon as they opened today (10 am). Oh yes, they can get me a new mattress tomorrow. No, tomorrow doesn't work - you see, because of sleep country, I don't have a bed to sleep in. I ordered my mattress 8 days ago and don't have it. I need the mattress today. Was basically told no. Called customer service - once the lady stopped talking over me, I explained the situation. After being on hold for a while she returns and says they'll give me a $120 gift card ...and deliver it tomorrow. I advised that wasn't going to cut it. $120 doesn't even cover a hotel room which I need as I don't have a bed - because sleep country attempted to switch me to a cheap mattress. You guys either messed up, or got caught intentionally trying to send me a cheaper mattress. Also did not receive the complimentary $150 blanket that was supposed to be delivered with the mattress. Sounds like a scam to me!!! All I asked was for you to fix your own mess. I wasn't asking to be compensated for the day I had to miss work, the physiotherapy appointment, the missed golf round and intense pain that I've experienced since you dropped off a cheap ass mattress. Less than impressed! read more

What a bad experience with Sleep Country I will never go back or refer any of my close friends. Purchased a mattress at 1020 Centre Street in Thornhill. I believe I received a defective mattress. Unfortunately, the middle of this mattress sinks. I decided to go thru customer services. Apparently, warranty only covers an indention of 1.5 inches my mattress had 1.3 inches indention. First of all, a new mattress should not have 1.3 inches indention it should be straight. Got denied I had to go in person to re-purchase a more expensive mattress due to not being able to receive the same mattress at the same cost. What a scam.. read more

My experience with SleepCountry post-purchase was horrible. We bought a mattress, mattress topper, protector, and two pillows. Over $2300 of product in the order. They listed a Kingsdown pillow on their site as down and after one night with it, it became clear it was not down. I checked the box the next morning and it listed the fill as polyester! When I mentioned this to Mahelie Marsan in the chat box, she asked if it had been opened. I said "Well yes, if I knew from how it felt that it was not down, then of course I opened it!" She told me then it's mine and they won't return or exchange it, full stop. She wouldn't even transfer to anyone else in the company and then abruptly ended the chat. I needed a new box spring for my double (full) bed. Went to my usual bedding store, Sleep Country on Granville Street in Downtown Vancouver. Silvino was extremely helpful with his suggestions. Ended up with a platform instead. Much better and greatly appreciated. No more box spring and now lots of storage under the bed as well as a new place for the cat to play. Silvino was patient, knowledgeable and a pleasure to chat with relieving any anxieties there may have been. The platform was delivered by Pedro and Tyler and they removed the old box spring. They too were pleasant and efficient. This is the ONLY place to shop for a bed, bedding or headboard. Thanks to Silvino, Pedro and Tyler read more

My Malouf platform bed frame practically fell apart when it was moved on carpet. This is an extremely poor quality bed frame. I am writing again and again to follow up regarding My Warranty Claim. I am dealing with the company for a 3 months and sleeping on the bad mattress STILL. The 10 photos I submitted does show impression over .75 The foam of the mattress has significantly collapsed, to the point of not supporting my back anymore. Due to this, I have had significant back pain and have had to attend physio sessions. My sleep has also been impacted by this. I purchased this mattress as a way to address these issues and selected a firmer model, which has not held its shape over time at all. I would request that Sleep Country investigate this further, and exchange it ASAP! I look forward to having this resolved soon. Regards, Irina. Date of experience: March 22, 2023 read more

Do not buy here... Ever. Bought a mid range Sealy mattress less than 5 years ago. I took good care of this mattress. It has however lost all support and integrity and no one can bare sleeping in it. Since it had a 10 year warranty, I applied to get it replaced, but since a minor drooling stain was on it, they refused to back their product up. Both Sealy and Sleep Country should not be trusted as they do not truly support their products or want to deal with honest costumers. I refused to ever do business with Sealy and Sleep Country from this moment on. A "good" mattress should last at least 10 years and not be without any integrity or support after 4. read more

I bought a mattress that has a very strong smell that is not diminishing after 8 days. It's not a normal new product smell. When I called customer service they told me that a bad smell is not considered a defect and that I should wait at least 30 days before they will consider it a problem. This is not a reasonable amount of time to have to endure a bad smell coming from a mattress. Bad experience, will not shop at Sleep County again And would strongly recommend against others shopping there. Sleep Country needs to have more pride in their products. read more

We purchased this Sealy Posturepedic Optimum mattress from Sleep Country less then five years ago for over $2000. In that short time the support has deteriorated to the point that there is now a dip in the mattress, however it can't be seen (or measured) on the pillow top. This dip basically causes my body to have no support whether I'm on my side or back. I'm an average sized guy, 6' at 175 lbs, I can't imagine the torture a heavier person would endure trying to sleep on this mattress. Unfortunately, because there is no visible change to the mattress Sleep Country will not warranty the product. I'm going mattress shopping soon, it certainly will not be at Sleep Country and it certainly will NOT be a Sealy Posturepedic Optimum. UPDATE from my last post, Sleep Country responded with this... Reply from Sleep Country Canada May 6, 2019 Hello Jim, We are very sorry for this, we are not sure if an inspection was done based on your post. We would strongly recommend having the mattress pass an in-home or online inspection to properly review whether a warrantable defect is present or not. You can call us at 1-888-736-7647 in order to help you set an inspection up. Thank you I thought before going out and spending another $2000 on a mattress I'd give this a shot. A technician came out and basically said if there isn't a (minimum) 1 1/4" dip in the mattress then Sleep Country WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THE WARRANTY. I asked him how often does he see this much of a dip in a mattress, he said it's very rare. So buyer beware, when shopping at Sleep Country and you walk out the door with your new $2000 mattress know that in 4-5 years you'll be doing it AGAIN. It's a great business model for Sleep Country, not so much for the consumer or the landfill. read more

My husband and I were in need of a new mattress and decided to go back to Sleep Country at 750 Taunton Road East in Oshawa as that was where we purchased the last one. We were approached immediately by salesperson Mark Ehlbeck. We told him we would like a king size mattress that kept us cool as we found the previous mattress too hot. He listened to our wants and proceeded to show us many opinions. Mark is very knowledgeable of all his products. We were very impressed by him. I could tell that we were dealing with someone who not only loved the product but his job. He is a great asset to the company and would recommend him. Under that mask I knew he was smiling as he made a great sale. A king bed with a remote platform, sheets, mattress cover and pillows. Great customer service Mark! read more

This is my first time ever writing a review. Run, don't walk, away from a purchase at Sleep Country. I was sold a mattress that was not on the floor, therefore couldn't really see what I was getting. When it was delivered I told the delivery personnel that it was not what I ordered. The store took absolutely no responsibility for it. I contacted customer service numerous times and was told to contact the store. Store never picked up the phone. Long story short. After many many calls (at least 10), they agreed to take back the mattress but took $300 of my dollars to process it. They promised to pay the refund back 2 weeks after return. It has now been a month, it was not processed on credit card and after 3 calls am waiting for "Accounting" to respond, when the store should have processed a return on the card. I have never experienced such a terrible customer service in my life!!! I am pushing 60 so that is alot of years!!! Try your luck at a local store or Leons but stay away from Sleep Country. They do nothing to improve their customer service experience....a big fat nothing! They still have my $1500. Update next day. After contacting their Public Relations Department, I was given a full refund and asked that the CEO look at the customer service department and ways to improve it. read more

Maybe it should be 3.5 stars. The sales person did not bother me when I was browsing the mattresses which is nice as it can be a stressful purchase, trying to figure out what type of mattress I like. I did not need someone hovering over me and trying to hard sell me something. The good thing was I more or less knew what I was looking for, so I was just doing a price comparison and seeing what was out there. After I had saw all the mattresses on display, then did the sales person come over to ask me if I needed any assistance. I asked some questions and found out they do price-matching. So it may be a good idea to check out other places first before coming here. The sales person not only did a price match for me, but was willing to work within my budget. In the end, I bought the mattress and a mattress protector from him and arranged for the delivery which was free. The delivery was pain free though the delivery men were pretty perfunctory. It was bringing in the mattress, laying it against the wall and got me to sign for the balance and off they left. It has been a couple of weeks and I love my mattress (Serta Perfect Sleeper). There was no smell and it did not need any breaking in. So if you know what you want, and do not need much explanation, maybe Sleep Country is a good place to shop for mattresses. read more

Sleep Country's' company is a scam. I bought 2 pillows from them $250 each thinking that I will help me sleep better. I had an injury and I've been advices by my doctor to get good pillows that can better support my back. I went to sleep country and they showed me and let me tried a few options. Finally found this Polar Tropic Pillows. I fell for it as is was super soft when I tried it. So I grabbed two of them since it was also on sale. I went home and it was super firm. I let go for a bit thinking that it will be better a wk or so. But no it didn't change at all after 2 months. The pillow the I tried in the store is a lot softer than what they gave me. It's very frustrating, so deceiving and it's not fair. My back is more damaged and I'm in a lot of pain each time I woke up. I ended up coming to the physio and chiro more often. Cost so much money. I went to sleep country less then a month after the purchased to discuss the issue. They declined to give me a refund instead asked me to call the head office. So then I called and left a few messages but no response. So I called again and finally got someone to talk to me but once again they refused to give my money back. They said, it was in the contract that it's no refund no exchange. But that's unfair most specially if I asked for a soft version of it not firm. They said that the reason why "those pillows in the store is a lot softer is because a lot of people had tried them already" which is a very vacuous explanation. Why would they ask people try those pillows if they know that the pillow they will give won't serve the same comfort as the pillows in the store?! That's a big scam and will be reporting this to consumer report for sure! They tried to bargain and said they will give me $50 coupon for my next purchase with them... You mean, so you can scam me again? It's another trap! What made them think I will go back after having this very bad experience? Stay away from Sleep Country. Never buy anything from this store. Not only they are over priced but they're merchandise are awfully bad! If I can only give negative ratings I will! They don't deserve any star at all! read more

Nightmare customer service. Returns/exchanges are horrible. I bought a mattress from Sleep Country Canada and it did not fit my bed although the size was supposed to match the bedframe. I wanted to return it. On their website the say you can return "items" but when I called they said that "mattresses" are not "items". They said I can only exchange it. When I went to exchange it they said I have to wait 3 weeks to do that and they would not take it back until 3 weeks form the date of purchase. This is so ridiculous. They advertise "hassle-free return policy" but this is very clearly wrong advertisement. Deliberately misleading. Don't waste your time and money. Went mattress browsing and ended up putting a deposit down on a mattress due to a promotion, knowing I'd pick out the specific mattress later when I had more time. Went to the Richmond Ironwood location to make final decisions, and it then occurred that the first Langley sales person must have got the commission. Nonetheless, had excellent and friendly help and customer service from Vera to pick out a mattress. When it was too firm and I went back for an exchange, i was helped by wonderful Roy, who was informative, down-to-earth, friendly and patient. Both Richmond visits were friendly and helpful without any pressure. It made the experience less stressful. Hoping this is all just a misunderstanding, however I am doubtful. I ordered a pillow last night on line. I then tried to find the guarantee on line for pillows. I could not find it so I clicked on the CHAT that was available. He told me pillows could not be returned. I said if that was the case I would then have to cancel my order. Please note this was 5 minutes after I placed the order. He asked for the order number. He said everything was taken care of, Customer service would cancel my order in the morning. PERFECT. Well it comes to 2pm today and still no confirmation of cancellation from SC, only a debit going through my visa for the cost of the pillow. I called customer service to see why my cancellation was not processed and was told there is no way it can be cancelled. I explained the situation and what I was told, she said, it does not matter, it cannot be cancelled. She said you will have to wait for it to be delivered, then package it, go to the post office and mail it back. THAT IS RIDICULOUS. I cancelled my order 5 minutes within making it and was told everything was taken care of. Now less then 24 hours after placing the order I am told it cannot be cancelled by anyone, even a manager. I asked to speak to a manager. She told me I cannot speak to a manager, they are all busy, but she can have one call me back in two business days. I said WHAT!!! By that time my pillow will be shipped out. I just want to speak to a manager today, I said I would hold. She said I would have to wait 2 days on hold and she put me on hold. OMG, right I will wait here for 2 days on hold because I am an idiot and have nothing else to do. WHY would a representative not let me speak with a manager??? Why could she not reach a manager to speak with me??? This is highly unusual for a customer rep not allowing a customer to speak with a manager, and telling me they were busy for 2 business days. I am appalled at Sleep Country Canada's customer service. I have been trying for 3 weeks to get a hold of a manager to discuss my parents bed. Secondly they told my mom that someone would be there in the next couple of days to install headboard. A month later no one has come. There is return or refund policy which is so wrong. Do not buy a bed from this company. The worst customer service ever. Unfortunately my mom is unable to use the bed as the incline is not steep enough. Never buy a mattress from them. Once they get your money, terrible service. First of all their delivery driver came way later than the indicated time slot of delivery. Once they arrived they were in a rush to leave. They were supposed to pick up my old mattress as part of their white glove service bullshit. They ended up throwing my old mattress in the middle of my hallway and refused to take it as it had "stains" on the mattress and wasn't like new. They however were able to take it off my bed and leave it blocking my room door. The service driver had agreed that if I covered it up, they would take it. Then got me to sign for the delivery and rushed out the door and took off. Customer service was of little help and had to call 3-4 times to get a proper response. All this for an overpriced mattress (Spent $4000-$5,000). Terrible company. read more

In store experience was great. Salesperson was low pressure which I like and order was delivered on time as promised. The online experience is a whole other story. I'd give it 0 starts if I could. Delivery never came. Over the course of the next week I talked to 4 different people at customer service 7 different times and even sent an unanswered email. No one gave me a straight answer and in fact kept giving contradictory information. They would promise to look into it and get back to me and never would. At first I thought it was incompetence or just apathy but after a week I decided to call the in store salesperson I had dealt with to see if she could help. Within hours I was told that the overseas shipment had been delayed and that the shipping container with my purchase had not even arrived yet.
