Really great food. Had the pulled pork sandwich and it was great, but way too much plastic was used for our meal.

5 Stars Super casual, local, dive, and I mean that in the BEST possible way. Delicious food, great staff, clean restaurant but no flare. We had the pulled pork nachos - excellent. I had the trio sliders for my meal, just fantastic, juicy brisket, melts in your mouth. Pulled pork - YUM & pulled chicken, fabulous. My spouse had the small sampler for the meal and loved it all but especially the chicken wings & ribs. Spouse loved the Kentucky Bourbon beer. The people around us were enjoying their pizza's and we will be back to try it! Huge props to Sandra our waitress, she was fun, personable and very attentive. We will be back! read more

we arrived on a Sunday at 230. the hostess was very nice putting 2 tables together for our party of 6. the waitress came over and asked us to move to the back so she could separate the tables. we oblige. waiting to receive menus and table setting yet it never happened. another party of 2 came in and sat at the table we were origin sitting at. they received their menus and their order was taken by the waitress. 45 minutes later we walked out after being ignored. I always support small business and this one doesn't disappoint! I try to come here to eat here Once a week! The service is amazing and very personal. Amazing BBQ, Pizza and salads you will not ever be disappointed. There can be a wait sometimes but well worth it. A recent terrace addition will not let you down for a private or a nice dinner outside. Patio to the right is dog friendly what more can you ask for! Best bbq chicken pizza I've ever had, always make it a point to stop by whenever I'm in the area.

Stopped in here for lunch on my way back to the office. This is the second time I've been here and the food was good the first time. I had the meatballs sub. Now, I'm not a big eater. However, the fresh baked sub roll and the tasty marinara chopped basil and mozzarella. "molto bene!" I devoured every morsel and may not need to eat for the rest of the week. So, So good. Oh boy. After reading some of these glowing reviews we just had to stop by and grab a pizza here, after all we live close by and pass by Slater's often. We went on a Saturday afternoon and picked up the pizza to go. The atmosphere is pretty cool. It's sort of like a warm tavern. The woman behind the bar acknowledged us immediately and we were out of there in a minute with our pizza. By the time we got home (5 min drive) the the pizza was cold. It also had barely any sauce and a very thin layer of cheese. We ordered a mushroom and there was an adequate amount. But it just tasted bleh. Not horrible. Not good. Just bleh. The crust was thin and burned too. They do offer a lot of bbq options so this review is just for the pizza. If we do go back it will be for something else. If you're coming here just for Pizza I hope you have better luck than we did. read more

Pizza is good, would give five stars for that. And dining in experience is always great too. But the kids they got making the pizza need a few life lessons. Ever single time I have ordered a pizza to go, it is screwed up. I've had undercooked, the wrong pizza given to me as I sat there and waited for it (don't even understand how that is even possible), the the latest F***up, my pizza was not only undercooked, but a quarter of it was folded over. Ordered my pizza online and when I got there I waited an hour longer.. I then drove home and opened the pizza and it was not what I ordered. On another occasion I ordered a ceaser salad wrap, and they gave me the dressing on the side, no dressing inside the wrap. 4.5 stars. Best pizza in the area (they make their own sauce!) and the barbecue (tried 3 kinds) was awesome! It's a bit TOO kid friendly - they allow kids to run around like it's a day care. Love this place so much! The people here are so friendly and welcoming. Usually go for open mic night on Thursdays (which I highly recommend, it's so fun!!!) It tends to get really busy for open mic so I recommend getting there before 7pm if you want a seat. The food is so good! The pizza is wood fired and is so great. Sooooo....we're still in the parking lot and I thought I'd write a review while the experience is fresh in my mind. We decided to try Slaters out even after reading the reviews because we're not exactly picky. We're still laughing. First of all the place is not set up as a restaurant. Half was completely dark and there were a few portable tables set up. I felt like we were uninvited guests in someone's living room. Awkward. But wait...it gets better. The host was clearly annoyed that we even came in. My husband and I ordered sandwiches for ourselves and a cheese pizza for our two young kids. Our sandwiches came about 15 minutes later. After finding our own napkins and silverware we dug in assuming our famished kids would get their meal soon. I got the Caprese which was fair. Husband got the pulled pork, which was also fair but overpriced. Well we finished our meals and the pizza was nowhere to be seen. Apparently not even in the oven about 15 min after we had FINISHED ours. Did I mention there were only two other parties in there? We finally decided to bag it and leave, which they were pretty cranky about. Honestly, this place should focus on being a takeout joint and leave it at that. read more

This is a strange place. First, when you walk in, there are no booths and anything like a regular restaurant. Just a few random metal tables like you'd put on a patio. No wait staff, we had to bug someone behind the counter to take our order (BBQ and pizza). My pulled-pork sandwich came soon, it was OK. As we checked on the pizza for the kids, they told us it would be 30 minutes or more, they were behind all the phone orders. Rule #1 Bring all the food out at once. Rule #2 If the food won't be out together, let your customers know. It would have been a good hour had we decided to wait. I had high hopes driving by here so often. HUGE disappointment. The hubs most reliable thin crust pizza place. They have a thin but generously topped pie with nice black bits on the top and bottom of the crust. Their bbq meats are yummy-- we usually get the ribs pulled pork and brisket but the ribs usually win the meat competition. Ok to get pretty much anything on this menu! read more

Grew up in Bolton.... I've seen this place change from a nursery with deli into a just a deli with bbq and then a deli/bbq/wood fired pizza place.... it was always a nice place to stop into and get a quick meal.... my most recent visit will be my last.... the draw for me was good food reasonably priced and ordering at the register and having ur food just bought over to your table... Now this place is a sit down full service restaurant. ..with 1 waitress...at least when I was here. Now I have to sit and be waited on.... waste of time... slow service and 20% more expensive (tip). Really disappointed. I like the formula before... I think this is a mistake... goodluck to the owner he is a nice guy.. but this place is no longer for me. read more

Slaters has really come along way in the past few years. Bruce has got the brick oven pizza dialed in now and the pizzas come out crisp but not burnt. The dry-rubbed wings are good. If you're looking for extra spicy, these wouldn't be for you. But they have a nice taste. Slaters recently added a bar serving beers on tap and wine. Last time I was in, they were serving Wormtown and a few other good brews. They just recently received approval for a full liquor license from the town. The one issue I would have is the pace of the food. With one oven & a lot of customers, there tends to be a bit of a wait for your food. If you call in for take out, I'd add about 10min to whatever time they give you. But it'll be worth the wait. read more

We came here so my 10 year old daughter could preform in her first open mic night. The place is very small and cozy. We were a party of 7 which is big for this place. It took us a while to get a seat because of this, but the staff was attentive to our needs checking in with us to let us know which tables were probably leaving soon and giving us option on how they could rearrange the tables to accommodate us. The guy who was running the open mike saw my daughter holding her guitar and introduced himself and gave her a rundown on how the open mic works. He was very welcoming and helpful and friendly, which was something that became a theme through the night. We ordered a couple of pizzas (the Black and Blue and a cheese) and they were delicious. My only issue with the food was that the black and blue was supposed to have brisket on it. My daughters mom said she tasted it, but I did not notice it was there. It did not matter though because it was awesome anyway. Our waitress was very helpful and friendly bending over backwards to make sure we were happy. It was loud and chaotic and hot in there and many people working in that sort of environment could easily not be the friendlies, but she did not let it get to her and was just great. The crowd was excellent as well. The performers ranged in age from grown adults down to a little boy who could not have been more than 6. The crowd treated each performer with the same respect and attention that you would want to have as a performer. I have been to make open mic nights where the person on stage is battling to be heard over the conversations at the bar or in the dining area. This was not the case at Slaters. The audience listened and gave their full attention and then gave huge applause no matter the skill level of the performer. I'm back on board with Slaters, after my first experience here were the food was delicious but the whole people thing was weird, me and my wife have been back numerous times for takeout and for dine in. The people are simply enjoying themselves more than I would have thought people working typically would, their comfort struck me as weird at first, now I see they are simply enjoying themselves, and the food is still very good. I have tried numerous pizzas, all of which had been very good, deli sliced pepperonis a Buffalo chicken pizza without onions(which is how it should be) all woodfired, thin, crispy and delish. We have also tried quiet a bit of the BBQ which is all very good. My wife enjoys the Cubano sandwich and I enjoy their tender beef brisket, which comes with beans and a very good corn muffin. Let me start off by saying that I grew up in the area, specifically one town away. I used to drive (well, I didn't drive, but I was in the car a lot) down this street at least once a week. So when we I was driving through the area again for the first time in years and was looking for a place to eat, I definitely wanted to give the local folks a try. Totally. Worth. It. This place is awesome. They truly bring fresh food to the table to the next level. Everything was so great and delicious that I wish I lived in the neighborhood again. We had the pizza and mac and cheese, and I have to say that I've been dreaming of both off and on since that meal. Both were so good that I wanted to go through the entire menu and work my way through a gastronomic masterpiece. So delicious. I will also say there has been a lot of talk about the BBQ, and I will say I was very tempted to check the pulled pork. And this coming from someone that doesn't eat meat anymore. But it was easy to get the sense these folks really take the time to make proper food, and make it well. If this was five years ago and I grubbed the BBQ like I used to, I probably would be salivating over the pulled pork. But I want to emphasize that everyone should get the pulled pork or brisket at this place because I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Love this place. Not for nothing but their pizzas are really good sometimes, but last night the guy in charge of taking them out of the oven was talking to the waitresses too much and not paying attention. The pizzas were burnt around the edges and had large burnt bubbles on all of them coming out of the oven. There was hardly any cheese on them. When your paying $40 for 2 large pizzas it matters. Been to Slaters a hand full of times and always left happy. The pulled pork is excellent- and that is coming from a decidedly non-bbq kinda person. Their sauce is also delicious: sweet and a little spicy. Food was served quick (we only got BBQ); I can't speak to the speediness of the pizza making while waiting but I can say the pizza we've ordered for takeout is scrumptious and wood fired. I've never been disappointed with the food. The service is good and the wait staff is friendly. A nice casual place to grab a quick bite or order takeout when the thought of making dinner is preposterous or you've got a hankering (did I really just use that word?) for some delicious BBQ. read more

I'm loving the new menu & the BYOB policy! Something about byob Italian just makes the best concept for a resturant. I've heard the liqure license is on the way, given the town thats it's in, don't hold your breath. So for now its a free for all Byob. Beer and wine per request of the establishment. But I know your too classy to be rolling in there with a pitcher of margaritas, pluss that wouldn't even go with your meal. So far I haven't made it past the delicious brick oven pizza to try the pasta yet. But I plan to work my way through all the homade American-italian classics. read more

Went for lunch once. Won't be returning. We each had the "pulled bbq" chicken sandwich. It's not BBQ chicken, it's a baked chicken breast cut up in a few hunks with some seasoned salt thrown on randomly. This was then hucked onto a bulkie. And that's it. I guess there would have also been sauce, but we got sauce on side. Had it been actual BBQ chicken, it would have been acceptable to huck it on the roll as it would be all tender, juicy and delicious. This was not; more like something you'd get in a hospital - just move on to the jello. We also endured the "spicy" wings. More seasoned salt, looked to be pan-cooked in an oven to snotty-skin imperfection. If you are going to serve non-fried wings, awesome. Just make sure the skins are not nasty rubber, perhaps finished in something really hot... like a wood-fired pizza oven. Since didn't try the pizza, can't comment on it. read more

I visited Slaters for a quick beer on a Saturday night. The place was slammed and there was a band playing. I pass by all the time and i cannot believe how small the dining area is. The bar seats about 6 and it was pretty hard to get a beer. I found it very odd that they had huge windows in the bathroom with no blinds. Beer was good. read more

The pizza here was pretty good. They have a gluten free option. Everything else was just ok. Unfortunately, since it's a big open room, it's very noisy. When we were there, there was also a family with 2 toddlers who were running around, shouting, and opening the door to outside. This was in January, so it was very cold out. Every time someone came in or left or the toddlers opened the door, cold air rushed in. Obviously rambunctious diners are not the fault of the restaurant, but the layout of the room does not help. read more

I just ordered takeout after reading the reviews which seemed to slam the service. The food is indeed excellent, and although I can't speak to table service, the takeout service was as good as it can get, the food was ready when they said it would be, and I was asked very politely if I would like plasticware and/or napkins. Indeed the people working there are quite happy, and very cool. The food was absolutely scrumptious and definitely worth high marks. I must say: pulled pork is easy to destroy. It can be too dry, crappy barbecue sauce... then you throw it on a crappy roll as a sandwich and BOOM, you have a terrible pulled pork sandwich... NOT HERE! The pulled pork sandwich or entree is absolutely amazing. Baked beans as a side are also tasty. Sandi is also a great server/bartender, very attentive, good personality...
