This location is on the upper west side. What a great little café. The service and food here is out of this world. The coffee is also spectacular. We feel that they take such pride and care in their food and service. Definitely a nice spot to catch a quick bite when in town. A nice café vibe feeling inside. Try them for yourself.

The vietnamese coffee tasted like bland, watered down coffee. I didn't get it. Caesar salad with brussel sprouts was tasty.

Great breakfast! I was rather limited with what I could order and choose the mushroom scramble. I really enjoyed it! It's a good portion size. I wish there was a breakfast sandwich option for those that don't eat meat or fish. You order at the counter and they'll give you a number to take to hot table of dining in. At 9:30 on a Saturday morning the cafe was at least half full. It took about 10 minutes or so to get my food. I also ordered a hot chocolate. Kind of tasted like Swiss Miss, which even though I make that a home I wanted something a little better. My friend ordered the quinoa bowl and that looked just as good if not better than mine! I'm definitely open to trying other things here now!

Slate Cafe is such a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. It's is on the first floor of the Ansonia, with a bright and positive atmosphere, with high ceilings and a gold and blue color scheme. You order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. There were also many people ordering drinks and food to go. I ordered: - Avocado Burrata (16+): burrata, sliced avocado, roasted cherry tomatoes, fresh basil and balsamic glaze on rosemary focaccia + mixed greens on the side - Hot Tea ($4): lemon ginger The Avocado Burrata was absolutely delicious. It had arugula instead of basil--not sure if this was accidental or intentional, but I actually liked the combination with arugula. They have a variety of items on the menu from all-day breakfast dishes to salads and sandwiches, and I can't wait to try more.

Good coffee, good food, and friendly service in a bright, inviting space. Pretty much everything you could ask for in a neighborhood cafe! I knew they had recently opened on 74th, but when I visited, I was pleasantly surprised the large space and food menu. We have some great coffee shops on the UWS, but fewer that serve food beyond your standard baked goods and maybe a sandwich or two. Slate has a menu that covers the wall, ranging from breakfast scrambles and waffles to bowls and sandwiches. I don't usually get excited by the thought of salads and sandwiches, but the options here are a noticeable step up from the average cafe. My avocado burrata sandwich ($16) was served on perfectly baked focaccia, and they did NOT skimp on the good stuff (avocados, burrata, and roasted cherry tomatoes). I truly wasn't expecting much and instead found myself struggling to save half like I had originally planned. My cortado was also solid and well-priced for the area ($4). The espresso wasn't anything to write home about, but it got the job done. I'm definitely interested in visiting again to try out more of their coffee and food options.

Super cute cafe in a convenient location! Came here for brunch before visiting AMNH. I got the avocado burrata sandwich was was tasty and came with side salad. The interior was really cute and had enough seating. Service was super quick and nice. I'd definitely come here again!

The simplest everything scone was one of the best I've ever had!

Really cute and aesthetic coffee spot on the UWS. The menu is simple and perfect for brunch, lunch or a quick bite. The food came out quickly and looked incredible. I only had an everything scone that was perfectly flaky and moist with a cafe au lait. The staff was friendly and helpful!

Hot chocolate, latte, salmon egg and cheese on focaccia.

Needed somewhere to work for 20 minutes, rudely got asked to leave for using my tablet outside. Will never return.

This is such a cute place - nice, non-chainy spot to sit and sip and take a break from your day.

BUT, my husband and I recently took a trip to Paris and I also love pain aux raisins. To our delight, Cafe Bilboquet has those too, so my friend and I each had a small coffee and a pain aux raisins. The pastry was as good as any that my husband and I had in Paris! I've also had lunch here with a couple of other friends in recent months. They have a good variety of pretty authentic French sandwiches and some quiches, eggs, etc. Not inexpensive, but the food is top-notch. You order at the counter, then move up to the cashier, tell them what your order is and pay for it. If you're lucky, as we were around 9:45 this morning, you'll get one of the little round tables where you can sit and chat and relax; in good weather there are some tables outside as well; a lovely boulangerie or patisserie experience!

Upon getting closer to the door, I learned it's part of Le Bilboquet restaurant on the same block. It wasn't too crowded when I visited on a Tuesday mid-afternoon. Every table except 1 was full, but most people were heading outside on such a beautiful day with their drinks and pastries. The cafe is very cute and French. They have so many pastries I couldn't decide, so I ordered a pain au chocolat and tea. They serve Harney & Sons teas. This is a lovely spot, and I'll return to try more.

I'd been meaning to stop by this place after always passing it on my way to work, and i'm glad I…read moredid! I got the almond croissant which was an absolute BANGER!! I always get almond croissants from coffee shops but wow this one has to be one of my favorites. The crunchy (sugar?) top coating and the filling were delectable. I got one of the seasonal spring drinks, called "Karl" which is a banana cold brew with cold foam. I don't even like cold brews since they tend to be super strong and pretty bitter, and banana can be a hit or miss, but I enjoyed the hell out of this drink. It was a bit sweet, which I like, and the cold brew itself had a banana flavor when I had just expected it to come from the cold foam. I didn't sit or stay inside as I had to go to work, but there are a few (maybe 5 I think?) chairs along a bar counter on the side. Plants in the window too which I love. The barista was nice and made the drinks quickly despite being there by herself early in the morning (or at least I didn't see another employee). I recommended this place to my coworkers and can't wait to go back and try the other drink options!

Theres a shared bar table along one wall with high top chairs and menu options at the counter + a chalkboard with seasonal drinks. I left with a Balthazar Bakery box with 4 items. The 2 Everything pastries were filled with what looked like spinach and cheese. Incredible when reheated, but I wish they were served warm. The cinnamon roll was good, but not standout. The pain au chocolat was tender and flaky. Some of the seasonal drinks, like the Grinch, looked really good and I'd come back to try one, but I likely wouldn't swing for a pastry this time.
