I Contacted by email on Sunday, Jayson came over on Monday with samples, described the work scope, warranty and provided a quote. Professional quality work and the crew was careful and efficient, cleaning up thoroughly leaving the property as when they arrived. Would use Complete Contracting again.

Rather than providing an estimate and leaving, he fixed the problem on the spot and did not charge us for the fast repair. When the time comes for a new roof, I will call All Star Roofing first. I will also recommend them to anyone who asks. Thank you for a well run business that is looking to do the "right thing" with the customer in mind!!

We call this company to have them come fix it, and have been told they are under new management. They have requested all the previously signed documents over several email requests, because they kept forgetting or needing different information. 11 emails back and forth finally resulted in me making a phone call to a Jenna Esopi. When I asked if they had received everything they needed and I could schedule a date to have my roof fixed, I was told the new management hadn't reviewed the paperwork yet and they couldn't come fix my roof until it was reviewed. Apparently the new owners are entirely electronic, and didn't have my contract on file. I just want my roof fixed! Why is it always such a headache to get these companies to do what they said they promised to do?

I had a great impression of this business from the initial phone call I made to them. First of…read moreall, Richard returned my call within half an hour which, as anyone who has ever dealt with contractors can attest to, is almost unheard of. He also showed up exactly when he said he was going to, gave us a very fair price for a roof repair, and then came back to do the job exactly when he said he was going to. Richard and his team did a super job, cleaned up after themselves, and were very pleasant and professional. I've since had Richard install tile and laminate flooring, change moldings, and paint rooms. All the jobs were beautifully done. Again, Richard gave me fair prices, showed up every day at the scheduled time, and made sure that everything was tidy before he and his crew left each day. When he finished the floors, he actually cleaned all my interior windows because he didn't want to leave any tile dust! I've referred him to friends, and I know that they are also very happy with his work. I'll definitely call Richard whenever I'm thinking of any home repair or improvement.

Thursday arrived with significant work left to be done with Friday deadline. Work was rushed from then on and the end result showed it. Paint job was terrible. Tile floor was also cobbed. Much other evidence of hurry up and finish attitude. Issues were addressed a week later after several calls and waiting around for work to be completed again. Overall a very stressful , inconvenient and unimpressive experience. Felt our little job wasn't a priority . Would not recommend this company as they seem to have too much work to handle with reliable, satisfactory work for every job taken on.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!! I originally decided to work with McDonald Construction for an interior…read moreremodel including new layout of kitchen, bathroom, and dining room, because I was impressed with the time Jeff (owner) took with me during the estimate process and I liked his attention to detail. However when the job started I didn't realize Jeff wouldn't be involved much at all. Instead the Foreman running the job didn't share the same values as Jeff, He is actually a complete HACK and I would never let him in my home again. Jeff's price was by far not the cheapest but I thought it would be worth it for a job well done. Instead all the electrical, plumbing, and HVAC was done by the foreman who clearly has no business to be in that line of work. It was all done incorrectly, with many shortcuts taken. He also lied and cheated his way through every inspection process that clearly needed to be done. After many missed deadlines, a job that was estimated to take 8 weeks was stretched to over 20 weeks where I was finally forced to remove this company from the job and spend more time and money finishing with other contractors. After just a few short months I am already having issues with the work McDonald Construction performed.

I could not agree more with Nick's review. Even 3 years later, not one thing has changed and I was…read morein complete denial until I experienced everything he described. I went through it during the construction process first hand and I'm still dealing with them almost a year after signing my contract. I wish I had never done this. I was constantly stressed out and this was and is still a completely awful experience. Whoever gave this company 5 stars was clearly paid to, probably so they wouldn't have a 1 star rating. I honestly don't know how Frank can legitimately run a business like this. Not one person working for him will care about you, your family, or your situation. All they want is your money and they will say anything to get it. A perfect description, as Nick said, is over promised expectations and undelivered results. That should be their slogan. If you do choose to go with them, be prepared to: 1. Overpay for your house by thousands of dollars for pretty shitty work and low quality materials. It's what Frank calls "affordable". Do your research and the math on the outrageous upgrade costs. You will realize you're getting screwed. 2. Have zero communication between the site coordinator, operations manager, construction manager, and the construction team... you might as well kiss your blueprints goodbye because what you sign won't be followed and the things listed as standard features in your contract won't be included. I know this sounds crazy and you're saying to yourself, "how can that be?", but it really is true. 3. Have plenty of incompetent subcontractors working on your house. 75% of the guys are still learning how to do their jobs or are in training and the construction manager is never there to supervise anyone. This is because Frank is so cheap he's not willing to pay for people who actually know what they are doing. I am afraid for what is behind the walls, seriously. The day we closed on our house, we had no hot water and our dishwasher wouldn't turn on. How bad could it be, right? After being present for the necessary repairs, we found out that our hot and cold water lines were connected together and the water line to our refrigerator had never been done at all. The main electrical wiring to our dishwasher had been nearly cut in half and could have started a fire if the dishwasher was able to turn on. I thought you're supposed to have peace of mind building a new house... not so much. One more example, our neighbor's house was built 6 months before ours. Their sump pump failed a weekend when they were out of town. They came home to 2 feet of water in their basement, everything was ruined, including the furnace, and they did not have flood insurance. They had quite a battle getting that taken care of with BH. 4. Deal with their greedy real estate agent/site coordinator, Maryellen Blair. She is a complete bitch and has a serious conflict of interest with this type of home purchase. Unfortunately, she is the only tether you have to your house after you've signed the contract so get ready to deal with her for 4+ months. Be sure to have your own real estate agent with you for every single meeting. I would highly suggest one with new construction experience who will abdicate for you because Maryellen is a snake in this industry. I could not stand this woman, by the last walk through I wouldn't even speak to her, let alone shake her hand. 5. Be lied to...constantly. We were rushed into making decisions and signing off on things that were not correct. If we didn't, then we were told that we are holding up the building process. This is a complete lie because they already have their own agenda (and blueprints apparently) and the time frame in which you make your decisions has little effect on that when they are just starting to build the house. What they don't want you to know is they are rushing you so you don't look at the details. They are vague for a reason, which allows them to get away with shit behind your back and still make you pay for it at the end of the day. Clearly, I am very unhappy and I do not recommend BH to anyone. Everything I've had to go through has been a fight because nothing is ever done right the first time and no one cares about my house. I paid more than market value for it, so I've literally thrown my money out the window and I won't be going get it back anytime soon. No amount of remedies has made up for what this builder has and continues to put me through. I don't care about his reputation in the Capital Region because it is a bunch of bullshit. It is unfortunate that more people don't voice their experiences to warn others from going through this fate. He should not be allowed to lie to people and use and abuse them like they are garbage, it is absolutely disgraceful. Save yourself the aggravation and build with or buy from someone else...

DQ provided the most reasonable quote at a reasonable time. Devis was incredibly responsive, communicative, and respectful. He was reluctant to provide advice on paint colors, but it was clear we didn't like the color I picked out for my living room. After some deliberation, a new color was picked and his team repainted the living room at no extra charge. Another important detail is that I'm pretty handy myself, and most contractors I've dealt with were generally dismissive of women who know a thing or two about home repairs, tools, and the work it entails. Not Devis. He and his partners were great - they listened, considered my input, and I never felt dismissed in any way. The work took a bit longer than expected due to material shortage but the end result was beautiful. I'm absolutely going to use QD for my kitchen renovation soon.
