They performed work last year and wanted cash. They were paid for both jobs in cash as requested…read more When he was paid he said he didnt have invoices on him but that he'd get them to me. then tax time rolls around and I need the proof of payments. After many attempts to get invoices for the two jobs he ghosted me after he had apologized profusely and promised to provide them. It's a huge shame because I had used them before to fix brick work after a tree had hit a building. that time they asked for cash and I gave it but they gave me detailed invoices right away. I was pleased with the quality of work and had previously recommended them to other people. It is unfair to a paying customer not to provide the estimates and invoices for such large amounts. I needed this for my taxes. Hopefully I'll be able to amend this review at some point if they ever provide the invoices.

On July 22, 2026 Chad La Bello Masonry and Waterproofing LLC., came to our home located at PROJECT…read moreSITE ADDRESS to inspect the chimney and the house roof around the chimney because rain water was coming down the chimney into the fireplace and there were water stains on the ceiling above the fireplace. Chad also took it upon himself to inspected the garage roof (I have a flat garage roof). I never asked him to inspect the garage roof and I never mentioned the garage roof to him. Upon completion of his inspection of the chimney, the house roof around the chimney, the garage roof, and the water damage to the ceiling above the fireplace Chad verbally told me that the chimney cap needed to be replaced because the existing chimney cap was cracked, that the chimney needed new flashing, that 6 or 7 rows of the bricks from the top of the chimney down, on all four sides of the chimney needed to be repointed, that there were bricks on all four sides of the chimney that needed new mortar and that the house roof around the chimney needed to be repaired. He did not explain exactly what needed to be repaired regarding the roof around the chimney. (We supplied the slate shingles for the house roof repair). Additionally, he "inspected" the ceiling above the fireplace. He neglected to inspect the interior of the chimney. Chad stated that "they" (his employees?) would come inside to the living room and repair the interior of the chimney, that the water stained sheetrock above the fireplace ceiling would be cut out, replaced with a piece of new sheetrock, taped, Joint Compound would be applied, then sanded and painted with Mold Paint and/or Kilz Stain Blocking Paint. Chad then told me "that the garage roof wood was so rotted that when I got onto the garage roof I almost fell through the roof into the garage, that the roof was literally "collapsing" into the inside of the garage and that we should just knock the entire garage down."I told Chad that he would have to discuss the garage roof replacement and all of the repairs with my Mother, that she makes all of the decisions regarding these matters because she is the one who pays for them. On Wednesday July 22, 2026 I emailed Chad my Mother's contact information at the email address listed on his Business Card labellosmasry2003@gmail.com (masry is not a typo this is how it is spelled on his Business Card. I have the BusinessCard). I sent Chad an email at labellomasonry2003@gmail.com (which is the email listed on his companies website). I sent Chad an email to the email address that is listed on his companies Facebook Page klabello@nycap.rr.com. All three emails were bounced back as not delivered because the address couldn't be found, or is unable to receive email. (I have pictures of these notices from Google Mail.) Chad prefers to speak on the phone or in person, reluctantly uses texting and provides email addresses that are not valid to communicate. He is a master manipulator verbally and very rarely will answer direct questions regarding repairs by texts or gives extremely vague responses to direct questions regarding any of the repairs. Chad very rarely performs any of the repairs by himself. He sends employees (?) to perform the work. My research found that he often uses Subcontractors to perform the repairs and he never mentioned if his employees or a Subcontractor would be performing the repairs. My research also indicated that one of the Subcontractors he uses is T&T Construction Troy NY. If in fact Chad did use a Subcontractor to perform the work we were not given a Permit or a Certificate of Insurance for or from the Subcontractor. Chad quoted my Mother, verbally by phone, a cost of $13,000.00 for all of the repairs regarding/related to the interior/exterior of the chimney, ceiling above the fireplace, house roof repair around the chimney and replacement of the garage roof. My Mother and I agreed that considering the scope of the work this was a fair price. In addition, the next day he contacted my Mother by phone informing her that he needed an additional $3500.00 "because he forgot to charge her for the repairs on the chimney". He never told me about the additional $3,500.00. Chad would not accept a Credit Card for payment, requested that the payment be in cash and ultimately settled for payment by check. He also demanded the down payment be half of the cost of the total repairs. My Mother wrote a check for $8,250.00 and mailed it to Chad. While speaking with my Mother regarding this project I asked her if she had a Written Contract, a Certificate of Insurance from Chad's company and if Chad was getting the Permit to do the work. She said that Chad told he her that he was going to get the Permit, that it was a Verbal Agreement, that she wasn't provided a Certificate of Insurance or a Written Contract or any Warranty information. On Wednesday July 22, 2026 I texted Chad asking him if he had a Certificate of Insurance. His response by text was "K".
