I followed up with the company on June 5th, and the lady on the phone said he was working on it. Here it is Friday, June 12th and still no return phone call or estimate. So I've moved on. I gave the company a try because I had an estimate done about 2 years ago-this estimate I received right away. I ran into some other issues with my home and had to put the repairs on hold. Now someone else will be doing them. Not recommended to anyone! Thanks but no thanks!

I'm sure Klaus Roofing will respond to this review by placing the blame elsewhere--that has been my…read moreexperience throughout this entire process. I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Klaus Roofing was extremely disappointing. They failed to complete the roof repair as outlined in my contract, and the improper repair resulted in a roof leak just a few months later. Rather than taking responsibility, they blamed my attic insulation, even though the issue was clearly related to their workmanship. They also damaged my shingles and siding while attempting a temporary fix without my permission. Communication was beyond poor, and scheduling repairs to address the roof and siding damage was frustrating. I never received a sincere apology or any real accountability. In the end, I reached the point where I refused to have this company back on my property. That was my decision, and it will cost me more in the long run, but I no longer had confidence in their work or customer service. I would give zero stars if I could.

They will not view the damages of the roof and under it, and will give you a quote to replace it he…read moreroof. They never even came to look at the property. They used satellite images to determine the repair and their assessment is that you need to replace it. Please check the reviews on Reddit for more honest reviews about this company. In addition their communication is slow, their phone is never answered and they don't call you back to discuss details or answer questions or explain anything. Edit after their response: While they say they came to the property, they never did. They gave us a quote from satellite photos and never even saw the rain damages which was the reason I reached out in the first place. When they said they couldn't reach the tenant, I immediately provided them with the photos and videos I had. The tenant also called them to follow up and was informed that nothing else was needed. Yet I had to email again days later to ask if the quote was ready. I emailed asking for someone to discuss / explain the quote to me and got a response asking for a time to call. I shared my availability and have not received any calls. I tried calling them yet there was no answer. Finally 2 weeks later we had to call another contractor come and take photos of all the rain damage and provide a proper quote. Then when I shared this review the owner immediately called me. I've attached the communication that started on the 8th of July. I would like them to provide me with the images and proof/report from the onside inspection they did. They are lying, as they never stepped foot on my property to see and assess the damages.

The roof turned out to be a nightmare for my budget when it was determined that last of 5 layers were cedar shingles. Because of the shingles the roof needed to be stripped down to the rafters and 100 4X8 underlayment's needed to be layer down. Because of underlayment's, my budget was compromised. The Supervisor, Santiago, worked with his office and got me financing so quickly that the work progress never stopped. Working with Santiago was easy as the two-way communication was flawless. I would hire them again in a NYC second.

Wind caused some damage on our detached garage roof, and after obtaining several quotes (which were…read moreall near identical) we went with this company for the repair. They were friendly and easy to talk to on the phone, and the repair job was quick and it looks great. However, several issues came up: 1.) After we agreed to hire them they kept pushing our repair date back. They said they were busy with other jobs, several of their employees were sick with Covid, and they everything was backed up from the storms. All of which were probably true, but I wished they had called me to tell me instead of myself having to call them over and over for updates. 2.) They kept pushing the repair date back. While our job wasn't critical (water wasn't getting into our garage) and likely other roofs were a higher priority, it took 2 weeks between quote to having the repair done. Had we needed to cancel due to lack of performance, our older quotes from other companies were expired and obtaining a new one during the busy repair market would have lengthened the process more. SO.... as long as you stay on top of them, they were great to work with. But you need to be proactive because they certainly weren't for our job.

They charged me over $500 to put a few drops of caulking on top of already existing screws (picture attached.) Sure enough, the roof leaked again, this time I climbed on the roof to see what has been done. That is when I discovered that all they did was to place single drops of Caulking on top of already existing screws. I hired another roofer and had the skylight sealed and the leak stopped, even with the recent heavy rain. This new roofer charged me only $350 for the work. My mistake was that I trusted Star Roofing's words, and did not go up on the roof to check the work myself. Lesson learned! The awful thing is that not only I would never trust this company ever again, but now I can't trust other good workers who actually do what they charge a costumer for. Yes, unfortunately one BAD APPLE, ruins the whole box.
