Since then nothing but excuse after excuse.

I was looking for a contractor to do some work on my condo before moving in: paint, flooring…read more(sand+stain), changing the swing direction on two doors, and tearing out a closet and building a custom one. DQ provided the most reasonable quote at a reasonable time. Devis was incredibly responsive, communicative, and respectful. He was reluctant to provide advice on paint colors, but it was clear we didn't like the color I picked out for my living room. After some deliberation, a new color was picked and his team repainted the living room at no extra charge. Another important detail is that I'm pretty handy myself, and most contractors I've dealt with were generally dismissive of women who know a thing or two about home repairs, tools, and the work it entails. Not Devis. He and his partners were great - they listened, considered my input, and I never felt dismissed in any way. The work took a bit longer than expected due to material shortage but the end result was beautiful. I'm absolutely going to use QD for my kitchen renovation soon. Hire these guys - you won't regret it!

I did the research and talked to 4 companies before choosing Pregent and then .... at least a dozen other houses got the benefit. When I was getting the quote from Joe, my neighbor across the street and one a couple houses down also asked for quotes. Then, when they were doing the work, people came out of the woodwork to ask them to do their driveways too. My new driveway is incredible. It was so worn down the dirt was coming through at the end. They fully replaced it, expanded it to be double width, and even put in a really nice Cambridge paver walkway to my front door. It totally transformed the look of my house. They got all the work done in two days and were really well organized in that they were able to simultaneously time it to stagger the different phases of paving and do multiple driveways at once. They had at least a dozen guys which made them really efficient.

The last time we had our driveway sealed (which is a large driveway with cracks, lawn overgrowing…read morethe sides, and in places weeds growing through it) we had a company come and they did a fantastic job. They did a thorough job edging it, they filled in the cracks, and they pulled the weeds. They also charged us almost half of what Egan charged us now, though that was in 2020. That company doesn't appear to be around now, so we looked online for reviews and after getting several went with Egan. Their estimate seemed detailed enough (we had also asked for other quotes to do other things besides sealcoating) but when it came time to actually lock it in we discovered that the low number wasn't the correct number. We had to add another number too, which made the job a lot more (though still less than the others). Arranging a time to get it done took four calls spread over several days, but they finally showed up. And their work was less than spectacular. Yes, the driveway is mostly black. But they missed some spots along the edges; they didn't bother to fill in any cracks; they actually applied the tar over weeds in situ (sort of like those online pictures of highway striping crews painting right over roadkill) leaving black plants sticking up; and they didn't edge everything properly first and part of their tar was just brushed on dirt which was on top of the driveway which instantly peeled off a day later. Now, to be fair if I had to do this all myself (not a fun job) I doubt I could have done it much better. But for $1400 we expected more. In the future I will make sure the contract clearly specifies crack filling, full edging, etc. Since their quote was the lowest and most of my driveway now has sealcoat on it I can live with it. But I will likely look elsewhere next time as you get what you pay for. Maybe our previous company spoiled us with amazing service?

Scott estimated that the project would take up to a month even with a 3-4 man crew. He indicated that once they started my project they would work on only my project until it was completed. Pricing was agreed upon as well as costs for overages such as replacing rotten plywood, etc. Even though they used more plywood than we agreed and I had a couple spots with wood damage, we were not charged any additional for the project. We made several after the fact upgrades (6" gutters instead of 5", hidden soffit, etc. We were only charged the difference in the cost of the materials even though some of my requests required additional labor. We were very happy with the attention to detail that the crew had. They went above and beyond on our front entrance and garage doors to match the Azek trim that we had requested. Once they started our project, they worked on it exclusively every day (except 2 awful weather days) until it was fully complete. It took 3 1/2 weeks to complete. The pricing was not the lowest, but was far more reasonable than most of the other quotes that I received and the crew was skilled and efficient and they took pride in their work. Our home looks great and we have received many compliments from the neighbors. We highly recommend Precision Exteriors to anyone needing siding work in the Capital Region!

Thursday arrived with significant work left to be done with Friday deadline. Work was rushed from then on and the end result showed it. Paint job was terrible. Tile floor was also cobbed. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!! I originally decided to work with McDonald Construction for an interior…read moreremodel including new layout of kitchen, bathroom, and dining room, because I was impressed with the time Jeff (owner) took with me during the estimate process and I liked his attention to detail. However when the job started I didn't realize Jeff wouldn't be involved much at all. Instead the Foreman running the job didn't share the same values as Jeff, He is actually a complete HACK and I would never let him in my home again. Jeff's price was by far not the cheapest but I thought it would be worth it for a job well done. Instead all the electrical, plumbing, and HVAC was done by the foreman who clearly has no business to be in that line of work. It was all done incorrectly, with many shortcuts taken. He also lied and cheated his way through every inspection process that clearly needed to be done. After many missed deadlines, a job that was estimated to take 8 weeks was stretched to over 20 weeks where I was finally forced to remove this company from the job and spend more time and money finishing with other contractors. After just a few short months I am already having issues with the work McDonald Construction performed.

When you call in, you're going to talk to Kathy. She runs the office, and her husband Alex is the locksmith. They both know a LOT about locks, and it shows. We've used them for a couple different types of projects, and they aren't just on top of it and capable, but they're also honest. They've saved me money a couple of times when they could've charged more, and offered some great advice that kept us from needing a service call as well. Alex has replaced regular locks for us, installed keypad locks, and even basically built a brand new cylinder lock for an old garage of a type that no one uses any more. I'm worried that when he retires, we'll have to replace the whole door, but hopefully he'll be around for many years to come. I don't know if you have a ton of options when it comes to locksmiths in Hamilton County, but I do know I've worked with plenty of them in many counties, and these are the best ones I've ever come across. I appreciate you all!
