Great service. Our server for attentive and responsive. The food was ready quickly and brought out immediately. Now, I have to be honest, I did not line the food itself. I had the buffalo chicken salad and chili cheese fries. I was not impressed with either. The buffalo chicken was just diced chicken with a splash of hot sauce. The chili fries were just not it for me. The chili has a nutmeg/cinnamon taste I just didn't enjoy. My husband on the other hand, loved loved loved the chili. He had the Cincinnati chili/spaghetti. My Grandma was from Cincy. I've heard all my life how great Skyline is. She passed away almost a year ago, so I couldn't visit Ohio without stopping for some Skyline. I wasn't going to, but husband said "let's do it in memory of your grandma" ugh, okay. I barely like chili to begin with, but okay. Before going to see MIL, we stopped in. She lives in Kettering. The andes chocolates and the york peppermint patties by the register made me smile. My grandma loved those. We got 2 coneys that came with chili and a mountain of cheese. We got the chili cheese fries that also came with a mountain of cheese. You would definitely have to grow up on it. The cinnamon overpowers. It was not bad, but not something I would want again. 3 stars for grandma cuz she loved it, haha. read more

Recently tried Skyline Chili in Miamisburg. Atmosphere and service were pleasant. Opted for jalapeno cheddar dog and chili spaghetti. Dog had a decent jalapeno-cheddar combo flavor. Chili spaghetti sounded good, but flavors didn't quite meld - spaghetti got lost under the chili. Staff was friendly, place was clean. I usually semi enjoy skyline! The deluxe burrito is really my favorite... All I can say is dude... I'm a human not a horse..I do not want a salt lick for a meal! I'm not sure if someone played the old trick where one loosens the salt shaker lid so all the salt pours out! Bahaha.. I was in town on business and my client recommended this place as a place to grab a quick casual lunch. He was right - we were in and out in approximately 30 minutes. The place was unique and fun. They love newbies (as we were outed / announced) and gave us a verbal overview of menu, local favorites, etc. our waitress was upbeat, efficient and fun. She gave me a newbie goody bag to take home even! I had the recommended "3 way" which is spaghetti , chili and cheese. I ordered the regular size and it was a generous lunch portion. Prices are VERY reasonable. The food was so so. Nothing special about the chili which was surprising / disappointing. The pasta tasted like fast food pasta. All in all it was ok and fit the. I'll fit what we were looking for . My colleagues got the Coneys and liked them, maybe that's what I should have tried ....but same famous chili (with chocolate and cinnamon ). I just wish the chili wowed me a little more. I'm fine with fast food, In fact I love it. I wish I left saying to myself "I wish we had these in CT", but I didn't ! God awful service, I had dinner there tonight and unfortunately this little child with such a nasty attitude named Payton was my server she paid absolutely no attention to my table had such a nasty attitude from the time she walked up until the time that unfortunately she was the one who would cash out my check jokingly I made the comment first days could be rough and with her attitude she rolled her eyes and I simply said the service was horrible she dropped my change in my hand and as I was walking out she said to her co-worker he is such a little b**** absolutely no reason why she should have ever cussed me or about me the sad thing was there was another I'm assuming manager at least that's what he said he was earlier in the evening standing there it didn't say anything this is extremely unacceptable. If you have such a nasty attitude you should never be in any type of customer service waitress anything type of job. Our Skyline Chili experience was good when we visited Dayton in December 2020. The three-way is our personal favorite for most everyone in our family. My youngest son does not like spagetti with his chili so he likes the Cheese Coney's. Our service at the drive through for a large order was fast friendly and reasonablly priced. Skyline is a must if you are in Ohio. Unless you grew up in Ohio or nearby you probably don't understand the joy of chili on spaghetti noodles with cheese. (3-way) It is amazing. Add to that the chili cheese coney (hot dog, mustard, chili, cheese and onions if you like them) and you have an awesome bite. I crave skyline having grown up here and am so glad they sell it at the grocery store, but it is not as good as the real deal. The food was good at this location, the service was so so. The waitress kept starting to walk away a couple of times while we were talking to her. (Hence the less than stellar review.) the bathroom could have also used a clean. We opted to get the 3-way, cheese coneys, Kids spaghetti (cheese on top of spaghetti noodles) and the black bean and rice bowl. Stopped by here with family while I was in Dayton and honestly, it was a little underwhelming after all the hype that I got from native Ohioans. The 5 Pillars: Food: When you sit down, they give you soup-crackers to snack on, which is a little strange seeing as people don't usually order any soup, but it's something to munch on I guess. I ordered the 4-Way, which is basically chili that comes with onions and beans, which you can taste barely any of because there is just wayyyyy too much cheese. And to be honest, it's not even good quality cheese. It's the kind of cheese that you get at the grocery store that is pre-shredded and in the plastic containers. At least get your own cheese and grind it. But it would not have helped the bland flavor profile of the chili. But bottom line is that it was way too much cheese. I would recommend using half of the cheese they give you, because you'll just feel sick after eating it. Service: The service was fine. The wait-staff is very friendly and is willing to help you out with accommodations for child-seating and suggestions from the menu. They are good about refilling water and making sure that everything is going well. Overall good service. Ambiance: When you walk in, it looks and feels like a higher end fast-food joint if there is such a thing. Mostly it's booths around the edges of the room as well as in the middle, where they placed partitions. There are tables for 4 where you can sit if you don't like booths. It was pretty quiet in there, and they have TV's that have the local baseball games going or ESPN. This place is good if you like a more quiet setting for fast food. Dine-in: The dining area is very spacious and the service is pretty good. It's probably better to sit down because it's pretty hard to eat spaghetti in the car. Carry-out: They have a drive-thru which seems underutilized to be honest. Overall: Like I said before, a little underwhelming. Way too much cheese, and cheap ingredients makes for a mediocre experience. Maybe if I actually take a trip to Cincinnati and get an authentic one, the chili might have more flavor, and I might change my mind. read more

Finally I've tried it! Who knew that Ohio had famous chili dogs? For those fellow non-Ohioans, a "coney" is what they call a chili dog with cheese (cheddar, i think) piled high on top. The coney was surprisingly good! For fast food, Skyline seems to be one of the best options, taste and quality wise. This Skyline used to blow hard. The staff used to be a bunch of lazy no good for nothin teenagers who couldn't sling a hot dog if their life depended on it. Now, as it seems, it's full of very attractive and jovial waitresses that I'm sure are over 18. The service was surprising. I know, it's fast food, but they were fast, happy, and I started asking for stuff just to see if it'd come fast and it did every time. They were fairly busy too. I tipped well, don't worry, I'm not a total douche bag. The food: If you've never had Skyline chili then, depending on where you're from, it might either be amazing or dog shit. It's semi soupy non-spicey chili with a chilish flavor. They have sauce you can add to cpie it up. I've had better chili but it ain't bad. But, a coney with just cheese and onions is something I crave often so I stop in. Steer clear of the oyster crackers. They will turn your mouth into a desert in seconds flat. read more

I'll totally agree that Skyline is a unique food experience that may not be for everyone but you have to try it - and we love it! The food is consistent at every location that we've tried and the staff is almost always happy and willing to take good care of you. We enjoy the 4 or 5 way (spaghetti, chilli, special extra sharp cheddar cheese or/and onions or beans) and most certainly their oyster crackers. My son's favorite is the skyliner coney with the works. It's just an experience that you have to have at least once. For us, it's a must every time that we're in the area. read more

My family often visits this skyline at least once a week -- usually on Wednesday which is kids eat free night. We love the friendly servers who remember us and often start pouring our favorite drinks when we walk in. I know there are people who just don't like the flavor of Skyline chili, but I love it. They also have a number of non-chili items on their menu such as salads, burritos and potatoes if the chili isn't your thing. One of the things I like about all Skyline restaurants is the speed of service - which rivals that of a fast food restaurant but you don't have to order at the counter and carry around your food. read more

This is the Skyline that I frequent. It's always my favorite when they have the habanero cheese that I can add to my usual 3 or 5 way and loaded coney. It's not for everyone, but the food is always fast and delicious, plus you get unlimited oyster crackers, so there's no downside. Unfortunately the furthest north Sklyine is in Lima, so if you're going to be farther north than that, be sure to stock up on the cans! read more

This was my first experience with Skyline Chili and I have to say for a chain, they do a pretty good job with their specialty. Of course this was a Dayton branch of the famous Cincinnati chili house and from the exterior it looks like any fast food joint. On the inside, it looks like any other fast food joint as well. You order your food at the counter and you wait for the order. Cincinnati style chili is more soupier than Texas style chili, but that's not to say it lacks the consistency of chili, in fact quite the opposite. It's hearty enough that it's filling, but not so hearty that it winds up sitting like a brick. The specialty of the house is the chili spaghetti. Think of it as spaghetti and meat sauce expect with more spices. The chili dogs are the White Castle version of what chili dogs should be. They are small and easy to eat, although topped with a heaping amount of chili and shredded cheese. In fact, if I were to surmise, it could have been vienna sausages that we all had as kids somewhere buried deep within the bun. I will note that the spaghetti was a tad over cooked so if you like your chili al dente, this might not be for you. Otherwise, it was a good experience...something that most likely won't be repeated, but you never know. read more

A coworker from the Cincinnati area suggested we go here for lunch one day.  It seems like people from Southern Ohio love this but everyone else thinks it is just okay.  I wouldn't say it's great but I didn't dislike it either.   Get a 3-Way or a Coney dog (2 or 3 of them) and enjoy.  Really it's a fast food restaurant with a waitress/waiter.  Good service at this location and recommend just stop in once.  It may not wow you but worth a shot so you can say you ate it while visiting. read more
