Gas and go shared roof with marathon
George T.

play this in a fresh window http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rkgm1yGgbM Nights at White Castles, never reaching the end, Sliders I've eaten, never meaning to end. Beauty I'd always missed with these eyes before. Just what the truth is, I can't say anymore. Fast friendly hot n tasty located inside the back half of a marathon gas station. This is the first time I tried Big Red soda. Not bad just different. Mix of sweet vanilla cream and slightly almond aftertaste I was expecting a cherry flavor but could only taste the extra sweetness. Unfortunately they also have to share the same restroom. Minus points for sad looking bathroom soap dispenser was broke off the wall and top was open in a sink. Both the urinal and one of the two toilets had out of order signs. I liked the idea of fast food and fueling up especially on long road trips. The service was fast and friendly. Sing it with me! This is world's slowest White Castle ever, but because of that, everything is piping hot when you get it. Win some, lose some.

I've heard the hype about Halal Burgers and was excited to finally give it a try. The menu is…read morewonderfully simple. There's a traditional burger called Signature Burger, then numbered 1-3 depending on how many patties. They have three fancier burgers -- Mushroom & Swiss, BBQ or Jalapeño. There are three types of chicken sandwiches -- Regular, Mango Habanero or Nashville Hot. They also offer chicken wings or chicken tenders with 8 sauces to choose from. Side options are waffle fries or onion rings. If you have a sweet tooth, they offer six flavors of milk shakes. I went with the Signature Burger 2 and a side of waffle fries. In addition to the two patties, it comes with two slices of American cheese, caramelized onions, signature sauce and mayonnaise. It was ready in under 10 minutes and I was on my way. They do have about ten tables if you want to dine inside. The burger comes wrapped in foil and stayed pretty warm by the time I got home. The flavor was excellent but after a few bites it almost seemed too decadent for a burger. I'm not sure how else to explain it other than it was so rich and dense that I think my taste buds were confused. I couldn't really taste the signature sauce, so I think next time I would ask for extra signature sauce and get it without mayonnaise. The fries were crispy and all in all it ended up being the perfect amount of food. I'd be interested to try one of the chicken sandwiches next time.

I was skeptical. The best burgers in the Dayton area are at Halal Burgers. It has a 4.6 on Yelp and…read morea 5 on Google. I tried the jalapeño burger and the signature burger. The signature burger was indeed the best burger I've had in this area. It's the seasoning they use. The meat is outstanding and it was well seasoned. The burger was completely balanced with cheese, sauce and meat. Five stars. The jalapeño burger was also very good. But the burger seasoning did not come through. It was a very good burger as well. Easy parking and fairly quick (they are made to order). Highly recommend.

So frustrating.... the menu doesn't include allergens at all. I am allergic to tomatoes and I…read moreordered meatloaf. It came, covered in ketchup. Even without the ketchup it looks gelatinous. Absolutely turned my stomach when it came. I also ordered a loaded baked potato and what came out was something I'd be embarrassed to serve. My friend ordered the scramble bowl. It had sausage in it, but sausage wasn't listed on the menu. Thankfully she wasn't allergic to pork. All that, and we waited 40 minutes for our food to come out. My husband did enjoy his pancakes.

There was ideal background music, 60s-80s familiar tunes. Just loud enough to hear and enjoy. Bonus points, I did not notice any TV screens. We had two classic brunch dishes. The French Toast was amazing, thick, eggy, just enough cinnamon. The fresh fruit on top was a welcome surprise. My husband loved the Benedict, halfway through he mixed his hash browns in with the runny yolks and took it to a whole new level. There are some nice options offered on the breakfast/brunch menu. Coffee was decent and refills offered. We both cleaned our plates. I think our waitress was Kelly, not positive of the name. Dark hair. She was great, very real, like a small town diner waitress oughta be. Knew the menu and what to recommend. Just the right amount of conversation. We had gone to early Sunday Mass in Lebanon, driving back towards Eaton, and I had no less than four brunch possibilities lined up, all of which failed for one reason or another. It was karma because we were meant to end up at Alleyway Cafe. So glad we did and I highly recommend this spot for brunch!
