This particular location is rarely crowded, always friendly, and has been able to do last-minute catering for me a time or two. The only thing that is horrible about this location... The location! It's hard to get to if you're going north on Breiel (have to do a U-Turn with an immediate hard right) and the parking lot is so tiny! But a lot of time has passed and both are excellent now. A good number of people were at the bar around 4 pm on a weekday and the manager was bartending. He was friendly and attentive. Lots of draft beer choices and some great happy hour deals. We couldn't resist a cheeseburger with the works plus fries for $10 so we both got that. Burger was hearty, fresh, and cooked to a perfect medium. Fries were good too. The presentation was appealing, see the photo. They've got a big game room that even includes a shuffleboard table. I saw several signs saying no one under 21 allowed IN THE BAR after 7 pm, which is an excellent practice that I applaud, but I think that unfortunately that probably does not apply to the game room...otherwise why add the words "in the bar." Parking is in the rear (shared lots) and I did not see any handicap spots. Bathroom nice and clean. We enjoyed our visit here and may stop again for a meal and a game of shuffleboard, as long as no one under 21 is around.

I gave her $60. She said would like change back. I said yes. Then she got mad and got an attitude! She went to the bartender and yelled loudly can you give me change for a $20. Then She comes back to my table and yells Here is your $8. Everyone in the restaurant is looking now. Then she walked across the room to her station and starts yelling CHEAP SKATE CHEAP SKATE! So I placed my $5 tip on the table and left. I felt like a 10% tip was fair. Now they have lost 2 customers over $3. So I asked myself does this restaurant not pay their employees enough money or do they just hire rude staff!

I recently placed a DoorDash order at Doubleday's Home Plate…read more Doubleday's Home Plate offers a variety of food options. I elected to get the Ooey Gooey Smashburger and an order of fries. The smashburger consists of two smash hamburger patties topped with American cheese with cheese sauce between the patties. I added pickles on my sandwich. The burger was cooked well, in the typical smashburger style, and was very cheesy and delicious. The fries were good. The order came in a plastic container. Not quite eco-friendly but it kept the food warm and fresh. I highly recommend this establishment. My order was filled quickly and my DoorDasher delivered the order quickly. I like having different dining options and this is one place I do intend on visiting again.

Now, they are basically based at The Famous restaurant which too has gone down hill in quality of food. I had made an order last night after long day of work (work a hour away), and the order was wrong and high priced for the portions. The fish was not a good portion like it was previous and did not even give me tartar sauce with fish. I was not aware of change of location to Famous Restaurant until I made the order and had to drive out of my way after long day at work. Management had refunded me money which was appreciated, but I would say that maybe they should just add this menu to The Famous Menu or to the Doubleday locations and close the doors and concept of this restaurant.

I think they must have good training programs for their staff because they have always been friendly, helpful and professional. There is only one negative and that is the meats seem to be cut extremely thin. This detracts a little from the overall texture and flavor. It is not a major problem, but thicker slices would be a way to enhance the product.

I ordered a sub, not a mayo soup with a side of meat. To top it all off, they don't even have Diet Pepsi. How do you manage to mess up the food AND the drink selection? For what Jersey Mike's charges for a sandwich, you'd think they could at least cook the bacon properly and figure out how to use mayonnaise in moderation. Overpriced, greasy, and disappointing. I definitely won't be returning to this location.

The food wasn't greasy at all! Fries were crispy (the taste reminded my fiancé of Arby's curly fries), the mozz sticks were crispy and stringy, the chicken tenders were very moist but nothing special about their taste, and the burger 1 and burger 3 were flavorful and tasty (no sauce on either burger). The burger meat didn't seem super high quality but they season it well and the buns were fresh and fluffy. Service was friendly.
