Normally have decent dine-in luck at this location ... although they are lousy with large drive-thru orders. Last time, my coneys were soggy ... and I opened it in the parking lot to eat. It's Skyline! If you know me, you know it's one of my favorite places to eat. I've visited this store quite a number of times. The food is always pretty good. The service(although overworked this time) is always pleasant and attentive. The store is always nice and tidy. We always get welcomed as we walk in. So those are all the positives. Today was a little different. Our server was pretty much doing everything, taking/serving orders, walking around making sure everybody was all set and even running the register? As she was doing all this, the group(and I mean five+) were standing around preparing station talking so loudly and laughing? I get it, I love being social but for petes sake, be a team player and help the servers out? It's not like we were in and out in 5mins. This was a good half hour+ of watching her work with the others chatting it up. Never seen this at any other skyline and I've been to almost every one except for the Florida stores. Do better. This is a well run Skyline - food is always great and it comes out quickly. Service is consistent, but I do wish they would be more diligent about clearing tables and vacuuming the cracker crumbs from the floors. Doing that would earn them a 5 star review! If you like chunky, veggie/meat dense chili, you won't find that here. Skyline chili isn't meant to be enjoyed by itself, it's a flavorful, hearty "sauce" for different dishes. Being Italian, I never imagined myself eating chili on top of spaghetti, but I'm so glad I tried it because it's amazing. This location, like most, allows you to seat yourself. Menus can be found at the table and generally within minutes of sitting, you are greeted by your waiter/waitress and given oyster crackers. True Skyline lovers will put a bit of Skyline hot sauce (bottles on tables) on the cracker and eat that as an appetizer. The menu offers a variety of options - conies, spaghetti, fries, burritos - all topped with chili and cheese. My go-to order is 2 conies (no mustard or onion) and a 3-way. This location gives massive portions of cheese - be ready! Skyline Chili has a cult-like following... you either love it or hate it. I gotta be honest, I'm not entirely sure what the hype with Skyline Chili is. I really loved the service and the small business feel, but I wasn't in love with the food. If you're super into chili - or really like spicy food - you might love this place as much as everyone else, though. PROS: -The staff was insanely and super friendly - to the point where, when we said we were new, she went back into the kitchen to grab some actual bowls to show us the difference in sizes before we ordered. -Our waitress was also really fast. We didn't wait for much of anything. -Feels like a friendly small business. The employees were joking with one another and happy when not actively doing work. They greeted some customers by name and already had their orders memorized. It *felt* like a friendly place you'd be welcomed. -They are prepared and know how to "lighten" the calories in your order including less cheese and other things. It's right on the menu. CONS: -The taste between different dishes wasn't "amazing" to me. I enjoyed the chili - definitely - but there isn't much of a difference between the spaghetti chili or the french fry chili or the chili dog chili. It all tends to blend into the exact same taste with no highs or lows to anything. Just the same taste over and over. My partner says that using their spicy cheese really adds a whole new dimension to the chili. I, personally, would say that you probably only want to go for one chili dish per visit. The chili will likely be more satisfying instead of trying to eat chili after chili after chili. -On that note, I wish Skyline offered more non-chili dishes. I feel like there could be a lovely and wonderful contrast from non-chili to chili dishes that could help their chili shine even more. read more

So happy I have this location close to me for a baked potato and salad. It's my quick lunch option and having a drive thru makes it all the much better. Usually a quick order and pickup. The workers are friendly, prompt, and no issues with wrong orders or not asking me the usual, crackers and hot sauce? I will say the huge bags of cheese they give out with the entrees is insane. Ordered a vegetarian 3 way for daughter and it had a huge bag of cheese. Oh my gosh! The meal is enough for two. Price for items is good, as well as quantity and quality. read more

I give this place 1 STAR because that is all that it deserves. I cannot believe all of these 5 star good reviews that this restaurant has. That's what made me order from here, but out of all of the places I've had chili from this is by far the worst. Really bad quality.... Not worth the couple of dollars that they charge for it at all. I ordered the 3 chili cheese coneys with everything on it except for onions. I don't know why my chili cheese dog has a spice level of 10/10. It tasted as if I was biting into peppers when I bit it. I am a pregnant woman I wasn't expecting to eat something like this. Not my type of food at all. It wasn't even the peppers that got me. I also ordered a 3 way potato and I'm going to insert photos of it. It doesn't look edible at all. I wouldn't serve this food to my dog if It was given to me for free. It looks really dry and not appetizing. Why would u serve this to someone? If I had the patience to go and take it back I would, but I'm just gonna leave this review here. I also orders the 3 way spaghetti. Just disgusting. I don't know if it's because I ordered delivery through a third party or what but never again. THIS LOCATION IS STRAIGHT UP. THE. BEST. If you are an Ohioan you know all skylines are just a little different. Some give you better ratios of pasta to chili. Some are a little chintzy or just downright have no love put into it. But Oh, some are just straight up amazing, perfect ratios, sizable american portion with a whole lotta love poured in that chili. I grew up in Waynesville and this is the location has shown the most consistency and quality. You can tell whoever runs this ship knows what's up. We had a friend in from out of town and drove to the Centerville location from Lebanon because you are, hands down, the best Skyline location around. I've said it for years, you do it right. Of course, we were not let down. Our server was not only efficient, he was full of character - he actually enjoyed his job, and you could tell. He was friendly, but not the "fake friendly" you can tell some folks use to try and increase the tip percentage - this guy was just on point. The portions are generous, the service is as good as or better than any restaurant around. So, thank you once again for proving my point: Centerville's Skyline is the best in the Nation. This is about the food as I've just been through the drive thru and cant comment on service inside (although they were nice at the drive thru) I've had a lot of chili in my life. Chili from all around. All types. So I was excited seeing a chili spot having just moved here to OH. I got the spaghetti and chili dog and couldn't wait to jump in. After finishing both, I'm sorry to say but the chili here isn't good. The taste is just... off. I ate both hoping I'd find some redeeming factor but the chili gets 2 thumbs down. So dissapointed. This is our go-to local Skyline location. The staff is wonderful, and service is always reliably fast and friendly - what you expect when it's Skyline time. The food is always consistent here, no watery chili, no under-cooked noodles in my four-way or stale buns in my husband's coneys. The drive-through is a solid option as well, although we were stiffed on hot sauce twice, and this was a heartbreaking revelation once we got home, of course. But more often than not, the drive-through staff gets it right and provides plenty of toppings, crackers, and hot sauce for the occasions on which we simply must have Skyline from the comfort of our home. read more

The service here is primarily local high school kids, but they do a fantastic job bringing me my "slop trough" of Skyline chili. Great place to take the family and kids still eat free on Wednesdays, but know that it is limited to one kid per paying adult, so two parent families with three or more kids...bring some extra cash. read more

I can say that he truly cares about the business and is doing a great job. I would go as far to say that it is even better than when I worked there and we were doing great numbers. I'm from Chicago and I was looking forward to this iconic chili dogs from this place. If you Ohio people think this is good then you must love eating dog shit. That is how I would describe this crap. The flavorless and overly boiled hot dog had absolutely no meat taste what so ever. The buns were dry and the chili tasted like it came out of Hormel Chili can. The only way they can hide this crap was to put mounds of flourescent yellow cheese. If that wasnt bad enough the counter was filthy with dried chili sauce crusted, onions everywhere, and two people running the show, unhappy and lost. This place was horrible. read more

There is really only one menu item at this establishment, and that's Chili. However, it's Chili that locals adore, and tourists seem to hear about from far and wide. Be forewarned that it is unique - as I understand it originally a Greek recipe, and has been adapted to local tastes over the years. It is in every sense fast food, but the quality of delivery is consistently high. Service is impeccable, and everyone genuinely cares about you at this location. I'm split on this review. I take my son in there on Wednesdays somewhat consistently. We almost always have the same waitress. When we do get her or one other guy, we get amazing service and the food is always high quality. Other times we'll go through the drive through. I have gotten some of the worst service possible. I've had one guy practically throw my food out the window at me and forgot half of the meal we've ordered. I had to go back in. When I told the manager-looking person what happened, he just apologized and grabbed the missing items. Usually the cheese is horribly melted or they'll forget ketchup or what-not. The guys on the intercom at the drive thru seem like they could care less about their customers. It's worst than McDonalds sometimes. Consistently, the Skyline in Kettering was much better. The people who worked there seemed like they cared. Maybe I just get the "bad apples" working the drive thru in Centerville, but I wouldn't be surprised if I found out they are rich, spoiled high school kids just working because their parents are forcing them to get a job and don't really care if they get fired. read more

Upon walking in the door I was greeted multiple times, I had a larger order I had placed and was met by the friendliest smile and enthusiasm from a manager named Griffin and Kathryn I was asked to have a seat while my order was being placed the entire crew is working in unison as I sit here and write this review, all while smiling!
