This place came highly recommended by our Uber driver and our car rental associate. Boy, did they get it wrong. This was by far the worse "chili" I've ever had in my life. It looked like dog food and tasted like potted meat instead of real ground beef. I kept adding stuff to it to try to make it edible but there was just no saving it. Unless you're from Ohio, I would say stay away from this place. I ordered the coney dog because I was still hungry, since I did not eat the dog food. I found this in my food (picture shown). It was hard and I immediately spit it out. It made a clink sound onto the plate. I was disgusted. I told the employees about the incident and they told me "It's just fat. Deal with it." This is revolting! They weren't wearing hairnets and they all had pretty long hair. And even the manager cleaned while wearing his gloves and not changing them. . Stuff happens but the response I received wasn't very professional. I would rather hear "I'm sorry." A Cincinnati native, I know my chili. Cincinnati chili, that is. This location specifically always has kind staff, and is family friendly. I ordered the large 5-way (chili, beans, onions, spaghetti) with 2 specifications: Habanero cheese (delicious & spicy) and "Juicy", which means they don't drain the chili before putting it on your noodles. It's so big, I split it with another person. It was delicious - and like most Skylines, came out in wicked fast time. The coneys are always a plus - must get them with everything (onions & mustard), and again the habanero cheese. Ordered a kid's vanilla cone (50 cents), and a York peppermint patty (25 cents) on the way out. A west side staple, I will continue to come every time I'm home. read more

This was my first visit at this establishment. I'm not used to chili being watery and not thick or not being actual chili. The chili did not have any flavor it had a sweet taste but was not flavor however the chili dogs were good I give that a plus. The restaurant is very clean. Fixed assets are well maintained. Customer service is excellent. The prices seem higher than surrounding areas. However they are a business and can charge what they want. Prices were clearly in the menu and I agreed to pay them. My only complaint is the chili at this location seems thinner and contains more water in my opinion. Perhaps they don't drain the spaghetti well. Perhaps extra water to the base or chili. More water could increase servings for the recipe and more profits. The manager says they make it the same way every day. But the chili seems thicker to me at other locations. So, being in Cincinnati on my way through the state to Chicago, I figured (and as you can tell from my reviews) I had to stop and grab what the area was known for. Skyline Chili. Everyone always talks about this place, anytime Cincinnati is brought up. Here's my honest opinion. It was good. I had some chili cheese fries, which were good, and then a cheese coney, which was better, and then a bowl of chili on its own. Growing up in South Florida, and to a more southern family, I was used to the chunkier, thicker chili's, which Skyline is not. It completely took my by surprise. Now it was good, but it wasn't great to me, and I think that's because I just wanted more meat and beans and less spices from my chili. If your into this kind of chili, a more liquid, less meaty type, then this will be heaven for you. This location had outstanding service, and I never wanted for anything, and the food flies out. I've heard mixed reviews on the franchised ones, but this is still family owned, so make sure you go here. Overall, 4 stars, and not because there was really anything wrong with it, but because I'm just a fan of the more southern Chili. Either way, still worth the experience! read more

First of all, they are not the best "chili" place in Cincinnati. Sorry not sorry. Really my only complaint is that the prices are just way to high. Over $2 for a freaking cheese coney?!?! That's nuts! Even if you buy there products from the grocery store it's still expensive. Just a small can of the chili at Kroger is almost $4, get over yourselves Skyline. Enough with the negative. The service is always solid and I've never been in a dirty Skyline. I am more of a fan of the wraps and burritos but I do enjoy a cheese coney or a 5 way once in a while. This place is a staple to this great city and it deserves respect. In my opinion if it wasn't for Skyline places like Camp Washington, PRC or Price Hill Chili probably wouldn't be around. Ranked high among other Skylines I've been to in the area. I went here with some friends the other night for an early dinner. We had great service, a nice waitress, and fast food. The place was half full but we got our food very fast! It's a chain restaurant that actually has consistent food quality. In other words, I haven't had a problem expecting the same quality of food whenever I go to a Skyline. Thus, when I go to chains like this, I'm more interested in service and staff (again, assuming the food is consistent). Seriously, here it was like our waitress could read our minds -- not a required skill but one she definitely had. I wish I remembered her name to give her a shout out! This is typically my go to Skyline spot. Fast service, friendly people but today the drive thru took very long for a small order and no cars ahead of me. The person working the drive thru seemed sick (very lethargic and sniffly) which wasn't pleasant to experience. Aside from being sick he chose to restock cups instead of give me my food (he set it in the window, not on the back table and continued to stock things and then several minutes later opened the window up and gave me my food...was not waiting on another part of my order). Still the best ever! I came back to Cinti for a couple of weeks and had to get my Skyline fix a couple of times here at this location. Each time it was awesome, not too runny and the chili very robust. I had the 4 way and my partner had the cheese coneys. Very good and great to see you had not changed the quality. I'm pretty sure I've mouthed off about the lack of chili-ness inherent in this dish (beans, veggies, texture) for me, so I'll save that rant. The professionalism of the employees since there were so darn many was very high school. A bit rowdy and immature. I like a fun atmosphere but I do like some professionalism in a restaurant. Wow o wow this location is truly horrible!!!!! Wish we didn't have to give any stars because this location really should have none. We are regular diners of the Delhi location and we get the 2 chilito and a drink combo. We only stopped at this location because we were on Glenway going home. So when we pulled up to the drive-thru we asked if they had the combo mentioned earlier and the guy said no so we then ordered 3 chilitos and 2 cheese coneys no onion, no mustard as we started to order our 3 drinks he interrupted us and asked if we ordered something before the coneys and needless to say the patience was starting to dissipate. We had to start ordering our food again and was told to pull around to the window. When we got to the window the girl repeated our order to us told us the total of $18.20 and took the payment. Handed us the bag which looked like all our order was there. Upon arriving home we opened the bag to 3 VERY SMALL chilitos, 2 cheese coneys WITH BOTH onion & mustard and no crackers, straws or napkins. So we have made several attempts to contact this location (time is now 10:30pm) and NO ONE seems to be able to pick up the phone. We will never return to this location and now only visit the Delhi location. At least we know we'll get an actual chilito and not a $1 taco bell cheesy roll up claiming to be a chilito! read more

This Skyline location is disgusting. Their chili is watered down. The employees are trained to fill up the stainless steel container with hot water and add a small amount of chili from the back to darken the water before coming into public view and adding it to the crocks of chili. The owner/franchisee also owns the Finneytown location so same. Take a trip a few miles down to Bridgetown. It's second best to Clifton only. read more

I was here about two months ago and just not pleased at all. A group of younger gentlemen walked in right behind me and the waitress immediately walked up to them and got their orders and everything.
