The title of the business was also interesting to me, so I walked in... The air-conditioning was wonderful! I liked the spacious, organized, bright, clean environment! It was peaceful and on the classy side! I looked through the beautiful clothing, but I think I wasn't in a buying mood. I didn't feel pressured from the sales associate - so that was a good thing. I was referred this children's store while shopping for a rash guard swimsuit for my 8 y/o daughter…read more First off they don't open until 10:30 am so don't try and knock out your shopping early! Then they only had (2) rash guard swimsuits to choose from (in Hawaii across from the beach) I chose one...while still feeling good about my choice I was paying for it & was told that all sales are final on swimwear, I mentioned my daughter was at the hotel across the street I planned on bringing it to her and have her try it on before removing any tags to make sure it fits. The sales lady told me I should bring her in to try on first if I am not sure of her size...OK. I say OK, no worries this will be fine I'm fairly certain of her size. As she rings it up she prints a separate receipt that I needed to sign separately for her to keep at the store of me acknowledging the no return policy on swimwear, I sign it. Then she gets out a big red rubber stamp that says: "All Sales Final No Returns" for the receipt I would be taking with me and stamps it. Anyhow, as a 13 year former employee of Nordstrom I just couldn't help feeling not very happy with my whole shopping experience, and not appreciated as a buyer. I like the rash guard top and it fits...whew! I understand there are folks that take advantage of retail stores with returns and the stores are unable to return back into stock causing a loss of profit. But by setting a policy of a strict time limit and requiring all tags to still be attached is much more reasonable, and the store still able to re sell it is a win-win.

The staff aren't over-the-top, but they're approachable and happy to help when you need something. I actually liked that--it felt genuine. The clothing is adorable and feels like good quality. They were also super clear about prices, especially on the jewelry, with no pressure or upselling. Just a nice, easy shopping experience all around.

Over the years, the price of a Reyn Spooner shirt went up a bit (about $120.00 now) from the dayz when I bought my first Reyn Spooner at $55.00 over 30+ years ago. Some people may think the price of a Reyn Spooner shirt is a wee bit steep, but what you don't know is if you buy the cotton/polyester blend shirt, not only do you not have to iron the shirt after washing it, but if you hand wash this shirt, it can easily last over 25+ years, depending on how you care for it. I wanna give a Supah BIG SHOUT OUT to the staff at this particular Reyn Spooner store at the Ka Makana Ali'i location for their EXCELLENT customer service, and for making a challenging situation a positive one! Why do I say this??? Well, on the opening day of this big sale, for some strange reason the inventory was not delivered on time, rendering the store with barely anything to sell to the public. When I walked into the store, the friendly sales associate explained to the crowd of what had happened with their delivery and profusely apologized to the crowd. From there, he offered to take down names & phone numbers so that he could call each customer when the inventory arrived, plus offering the customers a 15% discount over the sale price of the shirt. Can we say DEALAGES Yo!!! If customers did not want to drive back to the store to shop, he even offered a virtual shopping experience via phone, and then you can pay with your credit card. So AWESOME the customer service, and I wished I had gotten the nice gentleman's name who offered all of this, as it made my shopping experience such a positive experience!

I was pleasantly surprised (and honestly so happy) to see a small selection of plus-size men's clothing which can be so rare, especially in mall shops. It felt great to see 3X options available! Since the fabric wasn't stretchy, we searched for a 4X and were lucky to find one and my partner loved the design right away. We were both so excited. What ultimately stopped us was the price, it was over $100, for one shirt, which is unfortunately outside of our budget right now. That said, we absolutely see the quality and care that goes into each piece, and we truly respect how they're made. We're grateful for the inclusivity and hope to come back on a special occasion to finally take one home. Thank you for making us feel seen, we'll be back!
