The title of the business was also interesting to me, so I walked in... The air-conditioning was wonderful! I liked the spacious, organized, bright, clean environment! I was referred this children's store while shopping for a rash guard swimsuit for my 8 y/o daughter…read more First off they don't open until 10:30 am so don't try and knock out your shopping early! Then they only had (2) rash guard swimsuits to choose from (in Hawaii across from the beach) I chose one...while still feeling good about my choice I was paying for it & was told that all sales are final on swimwear, I mentioned my daughter was at the hotel across the street I planned on bringing it to her and have her try it on before removing any tags to make sure it fits. The sales lady told me I should bring her in to try on first if I am not sure of her size...OK. I say OK, no worries this will be fine I'm fairly certain of her size. As she rings it up she prints a separate receipt that I needed to sign separately for her to keep at the store of me acknowledging the no return policy on swimwear, I sign it. Then she gets out a big red rubber stamp that says: "All Sales Final No Returns" for the receipt I would be taking with me and stamps it. Anyhow, as a 13 year former employee of Nordstrom I just couldn't help feeling not very happy with my whole shopping experience, and not appreciated as a buyer. I like the rash guard top and it fits...whew! I understand there are folks that take advantage of retail stores with returns and the stores are unable to return back into stock causing a loss of profit. But by setting a policy of a strict time limit and requiring all tags to still be attached is much more reasonable, and the store still able to re sell it is a win-win.

Later, when the store got less busy and she did say hello, the tone came across as a bit dismissive and like she didn't really want to be there. When I asked if I could try on the set to check the fit, she told me "you can throw it over your clothes" in a pretty sassy tone. If there aren't fitting rooms available, that's completely understandable, but a simple explanation like "sorry, we don't have fitting rooms" would have come across much more welcoming. Because of the interaction, the overall experience left a sour taste and I ended up leaving without buying anything, even though I had come specifically to shop there. My husband and mom also mentioned they felt like we were being watched closely the whole time, which made the experience feel uncomfortable. I was really hoping for a better first visit since I genuinely wanted to support the store and purchase some items. Hopefully this feedback helps improve the experience for future customers.

The staff aren't over-the-top, but they're approachable and happy to help when you need something. I actually liked that--it felt genuine. The clothing is adorable and feels like good quality. The instructions specifically say to wash before use. I called the store to see if they would take back the items with the gift receipt that was purchased within their return policy date. The store manager Heidi, was very quick to say that an exchange is not possible because it's been washed and they cannot put it back on the floor. Called back a second time spoke with the manager again. Explained that I followed the instructions exactly and the item is defective after one wash before using. During this phone call she was more understanding and accepted that the items were going to return due to the circumstances.. I feel that's a bit unprofessional since the item is poor quality and damaged before I was even able to use it. The level of customer service received was not great. It was evident that the store manager is more concerned about store profit rather than customer satisfaction.
