I highly recommend Skydive Panama City! I took my friend for their birthday on a Sunday and we both had the best time. It was easy to make a reservation over the phone. Everyone was friendly from start to finish. Sean was my guide and he made me feel safe the entire time. He was a lot of fun and made my experience great. What an excellent day to jump out of a plane...take that, fear of heights! #bansai #geronimo Not sure where to start, so I'll say this: if you've ever wanted to jump out of a plane, and you're anywhere near the panhandle of Florida...you need to check this place out. The team at Skydive Panama City were awesome, to say the least. A storm blew into town the first time I scheduled a jump...I received two calls on my cell...one to make sure I knew about the storm, then a follow-up to cancel & get a new jump scheduled. I really appreciated being kept in the loop, and it was obvious every time I got a call that they value their customers. This may sound like a tiny detail, but it made a huge difference to me. Today was my rescheduled jump day: it was start-to-finish awesome, from the moment I pulled into the little Calhoun County Airport. The sun was shining, the jumpers and staff were laughing and joking, and the planes were flying. My training was simple, to-the-point, and painless. Getting airborn was as quick as walking out of the hangar and into the plane less than 75 feet away. Twenty minutes later, I was free-falling with my tandem instructor and screaming like a banshee. After deploying the parachute, my instructor showed me around the canopy, explained the process of checking wind and direction, and gave me some pointers for my next jump, which will be the second of many more. As a student, I have received instruction from multiple instructors and coaches at Skydive Panama City, and felt comfortable, welcome and at home skydiving here! Tony jumped with me multiple times, talked to me on end about the process, the jumps, and about the sport in general. His enthusiasm and love for skydiving is contagious and incredible!! I watched him go out of his way to introduce several people to the sport, making everyone feel like lifelong friends, not customers!! His staff is also amazing; Wayne, Cliff, Amber, Kyle, (the only ones I've had the pleasure of jumping with!) are all wonderful people!! All of them give you their undivided attention, answer questions and help you learn to skydive, with patience and actual care! Beyond the staff, the dropzone itself is not clique-ish at all, adding to the homey feel and friendliness overall. Everyone was friendly and talkative, excitable and fun! I love this place!! I went to SPC yesterday for a tandem skydive with my friend who had just done the Ironman. The people running the center are great and fast and efficient. The instructors were great. Paul ran us through what to do and expect and very quickly we were in a plane with Paul, Tony and the pilot. The flight to 10,000 feet is great and we chatted a little (its loud). When we were getting ready, Paul was so professional and calm and cool that I never had second thoughts and just did what he told me. That first moment out of the plane is absolutely breathtaking with a "OMG, what have I done" feeling, and it is just a huge rush. As soon as we landed I wanted to do it again! I felt excited yet safe and just cannot say how awesome this company is. read more
