My friend and I were in town visiting some national parks, and we decided to go skydiving for the first time ever at Skydive Moab. We were able to make a Sunday morning reservation the day before, which was very convenient. We found that the prices were very good compared to other places in the country that we'd researched. We were told it would take 2-4 hours, but we were in and out in an hour. We arrived, filled out our waivers, waited around ~30 min for our plane, and then got our equipment on and boarded. I'm not sure this was the case for everyone, because I saw other people who looked like they were waiting around for a while. Your scheduled time isn't the time of your jump, but the time you should arrive at. I wonder if amongst all the people In terms of COVID, they told us we needed to wear our masks up until the point where we jumped. At which point the instructor (who was wearing a full helmet) would put the mask in our strap. I did some other visitors in the waiting area not wearing masks or socially distanced, but it was out of my control. Our instructors made sure we felt comfortable and knew all the procedures of the jump. Mine was talkative, which I liked. I told him I wanted to do some spins/flips and he did them. My friend's instructor wasn't as talkative, but he did let him hold onto the parachute and do some spins. The one thing I was upset about was the photo/video packages. They have a bunch of different options ranging from photos and/or videos from a handheld camera (like a GoPro strapped to the instructor's arm), to a full photo and video package from a 3rd party (someone jumps with you and the instructor and takes pictures and videos of you from a 3rd party perspective). The prices for these packages were really hood, so we wanted to get the full blown photo/video package. Upon our arrival, one of the employees enthusiastically told us about all the packages and we selected the most expensive one. However right before we boarded our plane, they told us they actually couldn't do it because they didn't have the photographer available. I saw them give the same pitch to the 8 am slot, only to tell them afterwards that 3rd party photographer wasn't an option. Then maybe tell people that its highly unlikely that the option is available?? and don't pitch it to them and THEN tell them way after that the option isn't available. It was frustrating because this was a big part of why we chose SkyDive Moab. THAT BEING SAID, the photos and the videos from the handheld camera turned out AWESOME. My instructor in particular took a lot of footage from before the jump, in the plane, during the jump, and after our landing. I thought they would come out crummy because of the camera, but they actually came out awesome. I got something like 400+ photos and they even edited the video and put music over it. it was about a 3-4 min video, and they sent me the Google Drive link for the photos and the edited video within an hour of my departure. Very impressive! I'm 28 years old and have wanted to skydive since my 18th birthday. While on vacation with my husband and kiddos we passed the SkydiveMoab sign heading into town. I got online and was pleasantly surprised with how reasonable their prices were, so I booked a tandem jump for 6am the next the morning. As soon as I got there the vibe of all the staff was phenomenal..(even at the ass crack of dawn on a Saturday)! The crew all had different personalities that just seemed to mesh perfectly in its own corky, weird, fun kind of way. I got the luck of the draw and had Dustin White as my instructor/partner. He was straight forward, confident, friendly, and extremely thorough throughout the entire experience. Truthfully there was not a second that I was second guessing him or myself. I would 110% do it again. The only thing I wish was that I wasn't in southeast Missouri so I could continue working with Dustin and the rest of the crew to become certified. My brother and I were the first jumpers of Skydive Moab's 2017 season & the first jumpers since Skydive Moab acquired Skydive Canyonlands. As it was their first day of the season, we met all the company's staff and got to see part of their training. They are doing it right! The employees are extremely nice and easy-going, they accommodated to our needs, and everything was smooth from beginning to end. The jump itself was fantastic -- the pilot looped around the area so we could see the landscape of Moab as well as Canyonlands, Arches, and Dead Horse Point Parks. Definitely the most scenic place to skydive in the U.S. Couldn't say more about the experience, and I felt safe throughout the entire process. As a Skydive Instructor/Examiner and the United States Parachute Association Regional Director for the Mountain Region I conduct Skydive Instructor Rating Courses at Skydive Moab. There are few experiences in my life that I can say were life changing. This is one of them. I can't tell you how much Moab Skydiving made this experience so great. Kai and Joe, man they made it so chill, Kai's filmography was so perfect and worth the money. Unbelievably fun. I did not once worry about my safety because I felt like I was in good hands from the very beginning. I cannot recommend doing this more. Headed into Skydive Moab on Saturday with a friend and two new pals we met along our travels. It was my first time jumping and my instructor Brian was an absolute gem. He made me feel comfortable every step of the way and his knowledge of the craft absolutely came through. When the parachute was pulled he pointed out the sights and gave us a solid amount of gliding time. Skydive Moab is one of the coolest things I have ever done in my life!! The staff makes sure you have an awesome time and the pictures and videos they took were incredible and gave me lasting memories. The staff make sure you are safe and psyched to jump out of a perfectly good airplane. They may be based out of a smaller hangar but the experiences they offer rival those of larger companies. Dustin was my tandem instructor and he was INCREDIBLE! This was my first time skydiving. I never get motion sick so he let me spiral us after the free fall and it was absolutely amazing!!
