I've spent thousands of dollars consistently at this Micro Center location over the past year,…read moreprimarily on higher-end PC components. Unfortunately, my experiences have repeatedly involved inaccurate guidance from staff and a lack of follow-through when issues arise. During a workstation build, I purchased a motherboard and was told confidently that it supported four NVMe SSDs. Based on that advice, I was sold four NVMe drives at the same time. After getting home and installing everything, I discovered the fourth "slot" was actually a Wi-Fi NVMe slot, and Micro Center does not even carry an SSD compatible with it. This should have been identified at the point of sale, especially since the motherboard and SSDs were purchased together. In that same build, I was also sold a Wi-Fi PCIe card alongside an AMD motherboard, despite the box clearly stating it was not compatible with AMD platforms. Again, this was sold with confidence by staff while all components were being purchased together. I also ran into a fitment issue with an AIO cooler. I explicitly told the associate I was using a Corsair Obsidian 1000D case, and the rep looked up the case and assured me a 360mm AIO would fit. After getting everything home, I found that the case requires a 420mm AIO in the top configuration. The unit I was sold also appeared to be an older, unbranded model pulled from the back rather than a clearly current, well-documented option adding to my concern about the recommendation. More recently, I placed an in-store hold on a Bambu Lab P2S combo after confirming availability with an associate and was given a printed hold slip with a date and timestamp. The next day, while on my way to the store, I received a call saying the unit was no longer available and had been "allocated to online inventory." The paperwork I was given showed zero web orders, and I was told the people who could explain the allocation weren't available. I was then told a manager would follow up when new inventory arrived. I waited through a holiday, called again, and was told the manager was busy and would call me back. That call never came. As of today (Thursday), the store's website shows eight units in stock, yet no one ever contacted me. At that point, it's hard to avoid the conclusion that either follow-ups aren't being tracked or customer commitments aren't taken seriously. I understand that inventory sells out and mistakes happen. The issue is the pattern: incorrect technical guidance at purchase time, documented assurances that aren't honored, and repeated failures to close the loop after escalation. For a store that markets itself on knowledgeable staff and expert advice, this has been disappointing. I'm leaving this review so store leadership is aware. I want to continue shopping here, but based on repeated experiences, it's becoming difficult to trust the guidance or the follow-through.

In terms of PC parts they're technically here, but it's not really kid in a candy store vibe for tech that I was hoping for. I've only ever done purchases, never had to get tech support so can't speak on that angle. It's a little better than buying parts on Newegg, but sometimes the variety of parts leave little room for variety. When I specific tech concerns for my rig, some of the staff kind of gave me the path of least resistance answer like "we don't do that here", not even at least trying to attempt to solve my problem or tell me where else I should go. Was hoping this would be a good spot to go if I ever did need tech support, but that doesn't seem to be the case here.

He even mentioned that someone at the register could call to see if it was possible to extend my financing beyond the standard 12 months, which has been done for me in the past. However, when I got to the front counter, I asked the young woman there if she could check on my financing terms. She abruptly said, "It's 12 months and no," with a firm and dismissive tone. I politely explained that this has been extended for me before and asked if she could just call to check. Again, she flatly refused. I then asked if she could get Neil for me. Instead of helping, she turned to another employee and started to answer their questions. After waiting a couple of minutes, I asked again about Neil, and she said, "He's gone for the day" even though I had literally just seen him in the next section over. At that point, I decided I didn't want to continue with the purchase. As a former Best Buy employee of over 7 years, and someone who helped launch the first Best Buy for Business program and nationak Geek Squad this was honestly the worst customer service I've encountered at the company. Now I completely understand why so many people prefer to shop online instead of in store.

Spent 4.25K, and they price-matched. The customer service at the time was excellent, and I felt like if anything went wrong with the TV, they'd have our back, unlike big box stores. Four months later, the TV won't turn on right in time for the holidays. While searching online for a solution, I realized there is a massive problem with the 77-inch Samsungs, especially the S95D (Best Buy said two of them died on their showroom floor). There is enough of a problem that a class action investigation is underway (link below). When I went to the store, the manager greeted me with "I saw your email," and yes, my email was angry. What else would you expect? You sold me an item that literally is a lemon. All the goodwill, and we're locally owned blah blah went out the door, and it's basically - hey, nothing we can do - sorry you're irrational. I was also told, Hey, we've never had any customers with multiple issues with the One Connect Box, so of course you'll find that when you search for it! It was the most flippant attitude I could have gotten, and it's OBVIOUS there is an issue with these 77-inch Samsungs, yet instead of just being transparent, they said, "We ran it up the flagpole." As an authorized Samsung dealer, I'd hope they'd have more pull to help their clients. I will never purchase an item from here again, and I recommend you never get a Samsung with a One Connect Box - they will break within 3-4 months. You might as well go to Best Buy, Costco or whatever beacuse in the end there is no power as a consumer at any of these places, and these guy's will say sorry, file a ticket with Samsung and then it's on you from there. A customer's skin color should not determine how they are treated. I made a legitimate purchase of Apple AirPods, yet the experience made me feel unfairly scrutinized. As a result, the product is being returned, and I will not be spending any more money at this location. To make matters worse, after escalating my concerns to Best Buy's executive team, I received a follow-up call that felt dismissive and failed to meaningfully address the issue. Customer service at this location has clearly declined. If this behavior continues, it is not surprising that customers will take their business elsewhere. Treatment like this does not belong in Silver Spring or anywhere else.

So when my mom needed a new laptop, I dreaded coming to this location with the expectation that it must have been awful by now. To my surprise, we actually had a very positive experience! We dropped by on a Saturday afternoon so I was anticipating crowds and difficulty finding someone to answer any questions my mom might have. But we experienced the exact opposite. The store felt almost empty aside from folks working and just a handful of customers shopping. We were able to find someone immediately to answer my mom's questions and we were able to buy her a new laptop quickly with confidence and excitement that she found the perfect one for her needs. It was also so easy to find parking here which is always a bonus. Overall, the store was clean, organized and everyone we interacted with that worked here was friendly and helpful so I'll definitely be open minded about returning here in the future.
