Great experience here with Sky Helicoptors. Bryce was our pilot and was phenomenal. I can't wait to do another flight with them.

Well, we went on our first seaplane ride yesterday, and chose Harbour Air through the Viator app…read more What an absolute blast! We were lagging behind the group that booked this tour but we ended up with the best seats on the plane - the very back jump seats. We had our own private window and didn't have to squish together in one seat. They have two seats together, and one seat options but they place you as they see fit. I believe there are only 13 seats on this particular plane. I loved how the plane flew low enough to see details on the ground. We could see everything! I was on the lookout for whales because I know I could have seen them clearly from our elevation, but I wasn't lucky enough to spot any. It was a cool ride nonetheless. Next time I would book the longer tour. This one was only 1/2 hour long. The one thing I wish they would do is give some commentary about what we were actually seeing, describing the particular sights etc. but overall a fantastic experience.

On both occasions, the flights were on time, and safety is taken very seriously where make all passengers wear a flotation device while onboard. I even got to sit in the front seat right next to the pilot while coming back to Vancouver from Powell River - the pilot even took the time to chat with me while he was flying the plane over where I was from, how my day was going, and so on. A really nice touch that made my trip to BC more special. The views are absolutely stunning no matter where you fly on Harbour Air. Make sure to take pictures - LOTS of them - as if you are a visitor here, this will almost certainly be one of your only seaplane flights you will have ever taken during your lifetime. Be mindful that the planes can get pretty loud, so if this bothers you, you can use earplugs that they provide in the seat packet in front of you. It's natural to feel nervous over taking a seaplane versus a regular flight, and believe me, I was slightly nervous at first too, but the moment we lifted off from the water and landed on it too, I felt nothing but pure joy. Harbour Air is the way to go!

We looked at several options (car rental, train, commercial flight, other charters), and San Juan Airlines stood out as the best option for us. They were more reasonably priced than other charter companies, much more convenient than the other options, and had information about their Covid-19 precautions clearly detailed on their website. We had a stellar experience with them - scheduling was smooth and our pilot was great, friendly and enthusiastic in answering our questions about the flight and general aviation topics. The aircraft was in great shape as well, comfortable and clean and clearly well maintained. The icing on the cake is of course the amazing views during our flight. We will definitely use their charter service again if the need arises.

Our trip from Bellingham to Orcas was pleasant and seamless. Friendly staff, easy, scenic, everything the other reviews say. However, our flight from Orcas to Bellingham was almost an hour late with no advance communication or explanation given. The weather was completely clear. We booked as a private charter at a specific agreed upon time and I don't feel that commitment was taken seriously enough by the company. We almost missed our connection in Bellingham and this caused a lot of stress. That said, I would still consider using them in the future because it worked and there aren't great alternatives.

She had recently gone up to Campbell river with her bf, and they had taken the Comox Glacier Tour, she was basically so excited that she was babbling with joy and enthusiasm. How can you ignore something like that? We set up a tour for the next day. 49 North was super accommodating, we had a drive in front of us, to get there, so we scheduled for 3 pm. We took a relaxing, winding trip up from Victoria to Campbell River; it's a lovely drive. We arrived about an hour early, so we just stopped in. Jean-Marc took us up. His wife pulled together a lunch for us, and we had a fabulous experience, flying over mountains, glaciers, lakes, and having one of the best views for lunch. Seriously a stunning experience. Jean-Marc has been flying for 20 years, and this is his business, he gave us thrills, and we felt safe the entire flight. There is a lot of turbulence when you cross over the tops of mountains, but that only gave the whole experience more of that roller coaster feel. I highly recommend taking a helicopter trip with 49 North, if you get to Vancouver Island. If you listen carefully, you can probably hear me babbling with enthusiasm.

Yes, there are still things I could complain about but in general here are the reasons for the five stars: The flights seem to be really on time when the weather is good. I totally understand that wind, fog, rain, etc, can really screw things up but let's forget about that for now. The flight over to island, wherever you are going, is really quite beautiful. If you ask you may get the co-pilot seat and of course they seem to take special preference to those who may have never been on a seaplane before. As to the seaplanes themselves -- yes, they are small, luggage could be a problem (but if it is -- take the ferry), and to my surprise being in a seaplane really felt no different then landing or taking off on land and when the water is as smooth as glass I think this might actually be a smoother experience on both landing and takeoff. Further -- the big point of smoothness comes from this being more like private air than commercial flight. I have no idea what the domestic rules are in Canada but for a person from the US to get on a flight with a generic boarding card, off the island because their name was on a list the pilot was holding, with basically zero TSA screening hassle of any kind is pure joy. This thing might have a propeller and wings but the service feels as simple as a bus. So, no, not much flash to the experience but a whole lot of convenience -- and if you need to make a dash to and from the island without dragging a week's supply of personal items with you this is simply awesome.

Very bad business practice…read more We booked a 3pm tour. It was the last day that we are in Vancouver, we would be flying home that night. At 1:45pm, after we have planned our whole day around the excursion and checked out of the hotel in preparation of this tour, Sea Vancouver office called and said they are cancelling my tour because they "need a minimum of 4 people and only 3 people booked". I explained that we are leaving the city that day, and we planned our whole day around this, and if there is anything they can do. It is unreasonable to only notify me 75 minutes prior to departure time - we were already on the way to the departure point! The only thing they said was that they will refund me in full (I'd better hope so since you cancelled it with incredibly short notice!) I understand that it may not be economical to operate a tour based on fixed cost, but this was NOT written anywhere when I booked it on the official website, but they were happy to take my money when I booked. The confirmation email stated "We reserve the right to delay or cancel a departure for events beyond our control (e.g. adverse weather conditions, technical or mechanical issues, etc.)" -- well, operating a boat when there are "only" 3 paying customers is definitely in their control, they just choose to screw over their customers. This has put a really sour taste on my trip to Vancouver. I would encourage everybody to stay away.

This was our first time in Vancouver, and whats not a better way to experience it than by taking a boat tour! We honestly planned this boat tour super last minute, so we called a few places, but they were all closed. Fortunately, Sea Vancouver still had tours going out until 7pm which was the last one! The lobby is located in the Westin hotel and the ride is 90 minutes long, which takes you all around the harbor of Vancouver to the English Bay! There was so much to see at the waterfront and we even saw a few dolphins along the ride! We were hoping for orcas too but maybe next time haha. Overall the boat tour was absolutely amazing! Terry our captain, made the experience super educational a fun! Love that guy! Thanks Cap! And thank you Sea Vancouver!
