They did an amazing job of restoring the damage, matching the paint, and making it look amazing again. I was incredibly happy right the final result! Due to some Covid delays that were not their fault, they even offered to repaint my roof, which was not damaged, just old. I was so happy with the service, I also had them convert my SPI fuel injected mini to a carburetor and they did an amazing job. But wait, there's more! I drove away from the shop, a very happy client. But I got stuck in traffic and overheated about an hour away. THEY DROVE TO ME AND PICKED ME UP!! I was so shocked. When roadside inquired as to where I wanted it towed I told them "the closest place that can fix it" - as I'm not familiar with mechanics in the area. This is where they took it. I had a sneaking suspicion it was the starter as several months ago my car began to not turn over when I turned the key but if I waited a second and tried again it would. Then it started happening more frequently, and took more tries to get it started. Finally last week, no amount of turns would get it to start. Had coworkers and tow company jump to no avail just in case it was the battery. Nope. Flatbed ride it is. Typical, the next morning the damn car starts for them and they write it off as a battery, and replace it. Everything seems fine until this week when my car WON'T FRICKIN START AGAIN. Now bad starters, if you can get at them, can be whacked and knocked to a better spot, until it finds the dead spot again. I suspect the jostling from the tow served the same purpose and that's why it started for them. I had the car towed back to them so they can right the wrong. Long story short the next afternoon this time, they finally acknowledge "yep, starter" and that they may possibly get it done the same day. Nope. I call the next day around 12:30 or 1 to confirm my car will be ready by 4:30. THEY STILL HAVEN'T FRICKIN TOUCHED THE THING. I was told to call back in a few hours. An hour and a half later, I'm told my car was done. I was not a fan of how much "reminding" it required to get results, and quite honestly if I had been humored and listened to (I'm telling you this has been happening sporadically for a while and getting progressively worse...perhaps this should be an indication that it's not the battery.) and a little more investigation had been done, I wouldn't be so angry. My battery was likely a little weak so I could have used another, but next time humor me and test the starter. If I had paid $561 all together at once, instead of $178 one week and $383 the next it would have been less aggravating - and I would not have to inconvenience other people for transportation to work for the same unresolved problem with my car!!!! I get it, mechanical work isn't their main focus...but don't list yourself as a repair center then if you don't have the staffing to give the appropriate attention to it!!

This guy did a terrible job on my car. His work was totally unprofessional. Here are the details of…read morehow he screwed up every step along the way: 1. He was a sweet talker until he got the job but once he arrived he was extremely rude. 2. He used the wrong tools to fix a dent (instead of pulling it out he beat it from inside with a hammer and then beat around it on the outside leaving scratch marks. 3. When it was time to do the filler, he did a shoddy job, instead of filling and sanding a few time until the surface is smooth he pulled a fast one leaving the surface looking uneven, scratchy and with noticeable depressions. 4. He did not use a primer at all. 5. He did not bring enough paint to cover the full area of damage and haphazardly sprayed the paint. 6. He told me earlier that he is buying 300$ worth of paint and in the end when I asked to leave some paint for me to touch up he even dared to use a racial slur. Included images as proof of his shoddy work. Bottom line: Do yourself a favor and find someone else who is a professional.

From the first meeting, through returning our car in perfect shape - Scotsman's kept us in the loop by phone and text message. When we realized our parking sticker was on the bumper that was to be replaced - and learned the Town Of Oyster Bay would charge us $200 to replace it if we couldn't bring the old one in (silly law) - we called and asked Scotsman's to do what they could to save it.
