Chicken piccata
Tom S.

1st time ever visit. Me & spouse Yelp Elite Barbara S. for dinner. Friendly greeting. Immediate seating. Prompt arrival of server. Drinks ordered. Delivered in 4 minutes. A fairly spacious dining room. About 1/2 full. Everybody has pizza on their table. Do they know something? Barb and me decide to be iconoclasts. She orders chicken piccata. I order flank steak. For the opener we share a small Skip's salad. It's plenty big, tasty ans satisfying. Entrees arrive 14 minutes later. Nice plate presentation. But then, uh-ooh, there's a problem. After the first bite of my risotto I taste that there is something sour and not supposed to be there. I eat 4 forkfuls more. Then Barbara tastes the rissotto and says " Stop eating that, it is spoiled!" I have to agree with her. We tell the server and the manager. Much conversation ensues, nothing confrontational. Manager tastes nothing off. Barb and I insist that it's not the aroma of the cheese, but the abborio rice has been out for too many hours at room temperature. Spoiled rice can cause sever sickness. People have actually died from eating 2 day old rice that has been left out on the kitchen counter for 2 days. I know this, I'm Italian, I've eaten risotto since an infant. I'm 74 years old now. So we lend our advice on safe food procedures. The manager is grateful that we are not being assholes. Comped tiramisu dessert. $89 bill with tax and tip. Fine. I like the corporate, but not corporate dining room. The servers were all super nice. I'll return. But it's pizza next time.

Wife asked me to pick up the labor inducing pizza. It's an expensive pizza, but it is loaded with a lot of quality toppings. This is a special event/fine dining pizza. This isn't an everyday Domino's pizza. While it did not induce labor, it was still a good pizza. When I picked up the order, I entered through the pick up side entrance. The waiter that was helping was very friendly. While I live far from this place, I would go back when I am in the Roseville area. The place has nice decorations and seems family friendly.

Pasta lunch [Rocklin CA] It's been a minute since our last meal here at Skipolini's. Took my second child here for lunch since she likes her pastas. Sunday lunch hour was not too busy and we were seated right away. She ordered her favorite, the PAPPARDELLE BOLOGNESE and I chose their SHRIMP SCAMPI. Food was served at a decent time, in fact, it was amazingly fast. Our server checked on us about twice during the duration of our lunch providing friendly and attentive service. You would think with these ingredients my Shrimp Scampi would be flavorful (sautéed shrimp, lemon, garlic, white wine, and tomatoes tossed with spaghetti pasta and parmesan cheese) for me it was a bit bland. It could be just me because my daughter really enjoyed her Pappardelle Bolognese. Coming back for the Blackened Salmon next time. Review #0071 updated

Service is excellent and so is the food. We had a company party here and had a table for 24 people. Our items were placed ahead of time. The pizzas are very good and well seasoned. I am usually not a fan of salads, but their house salad was very good. Servers are very friendly and makes sure you have everything you need. It is a very big restaurant with plenty of seatings.

Got the "PREGO" and gave birth the following morning at work. LOL. - Pizza is always good. Ingredients were fresh and crust bake to perfection. Yummy.. -First time at this location, usually frequent the Folsom spot. I guess i'm just use to what I'm familiar with and think the regular spot is just a little bit better. - Shrimp Scampi was delicious. Pasta was al dente, and sauce was spot on. The GARLIC BREAD-WOW, nice and toasty. Brought the dish together. -Overall, an excellent spot with pretty good service. Will definitely recommend and revisit when out that way.

This place is in our regular rotation of go-to places for dinner. The pizzas are one of our favorite items to order here. They're even able to make it with non dairy cheeses. Always happy with the food here. My son also begs for gelato before we go. He only wants chocolate so we haven't tried the others but the texture is nice.

Shrimp Scampi was on point!!!!

So first time there and ordered the scampi that came with some toasted bread. . We also ordered a few different pizzas that were so damn good. Crust was perfect, no toppings was spared. Some serious Pies! We also ordered the jalapeño poppers which were a good snack while we waited. I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area.

Menu. Getting ready to order. Cannot wait!

Came out to Skipolinis to support Ruhkala Elementary fundraiser. We ordered the Skip's Dip and Bruxelles Fritti. The Skip's Dip was a classic Italian started oil and vinegar dip. The bread was fresh and warm. The Bruxelles Fritti was delicious. I would def order again. We also ordered a family size Cesar salad--so good. I'm pretty sure they make their dressing in house. For the entree we ordered the legendary Prego Pizza. It has every topping you can imagine. I think it was good but would have been better if it cooked a little bit longer. It was slightly over done. It was a busy restaurant--it's Friday night. Our server was great and stayed on top of refills and other needs (ranch, napkins, drinks). I appreciated they had a small playground outside for kids to play on. It's a great family friendly restaurant.

This was my first time visiting the Rocklin location. The service was great and fast. They also have a good selection of beer, although it is not on the menu. The food I had was okay. It lacked flavor. It looked amazing, but all you tested was pesto. I understand that was the main component, but the chicken should have flavor. The garlic fry was not great either. I chose it thinking I would not need any additional sauce, but you definitely will need ketchup, ranch, or some other sauce with it. The ambiance is casual. It's crowded.

Always great food and service... We have been going to this location for over 10 years. Great place to meet up with your friends and family!

They even shelved our to-go boxes away from the table so we could enjoy dessert without the clutter. Caesar Salad - lots of lettuce, delicious dressing although very little of it, so the salad was very dry. Not one flake of Parmesan on the salad or offered on the side. Very disappointing. Looking at the pictures other patrons posted of their salads, mine was definitely NOT like theirs! Hardly any dressing and no cheese on mine! I also had ordered the agnolotti. The little raviolis were very strange. Some were only partially cooked, many had edges that were hard and inedible. $34 for this? Husband ordered the pomodoro. The pasta had been boiled to death - it was so mushy it was inedible. We both tossed out our entrees after a few bites. We were extremely disappointed, needless to say. This was my after-surgery treat and it was terrible. Out of curiosity, I perused some of the reviews, and the bad ones scared me. The owner's responses were condescending. Two parties stated in their (separate) reviews that they got food poisoning. He went so far as to claim these poor people DID NOT get food poisoning from his restaurant because food poisoning "takes 12 hours or more to set in". That is QUITE UNTRUE! Now we didn't get food poisoning, but our experience along with the owner's outright false statement is enough for us. We shan't be returning. I am also posting the Cleveland Clinic's AND the CDC's SCIENTIFIC FACTS about the time period within which food poisoning can take effect.

There's a nice old world ambiance about it. Perusing the menus we first chose a carafe of wine, a Barbera. Having it before here we find it hearty and bold. For the table we shared a house salad which was fresh and well made. There was plenty for four of us. Tasty bread was brought to the table along with oil/vinegar and herbs on a plate. My main course selection was the Maccheroni e Formaggio, spiral pasta (macaroni) with a rich sauce, lots of cheese and breadcrumbs. I got it with meatballs which I highly recommend. The dish was delicious and very filling. For dessert I chose the cannoli which has been my favorite. Unfortunately, this time it tasted dry and the middle of the shell was hard as a rock. The filling was good. Service was very friendly, not rushed and attentive. They always add to an enjoyable meal. I continue to highly recommend this place for a good Italian meal.

The ravioli didn't taste very fresh and was actually hard to eat, which was surprising. That's usually my go-to at Italian restaurants. The margherita pizza was just okay... nothing special at all. It felt pretty basic and didn't really stand out. The restaurant was good and nice. But overall, it just wasn't the best Italian experience, and I don't see myself going back.

Bold flavors, expert preparation, pretty on the plate and generous portions. Bambie had the 1/2 chicken fried southern style. Crispy ouside, soft and moist inside. The croutons were crisp and flavorful. Best Cesar salad that I've had in years. My main dish was the pork carnitas tacos. Topped with heaping mounds of shredded cabbage. Creamy sauce on the cabbage. A side of mild-ish chipotle salsa served on the side to pour on the carnitas. The tacos were so big that they were almost too unwieldly to hold.
