Well, we finally made it back to Skipolini's. There's just so many places to go and things to try in this area that it takes time to get around... this time there wasn't a large group, it was just the family. The pizza and pasta were great! Service was good, and sitting in the general dining area, as opposed to a banquet room, was certainly enjoyable. I'm sure after this experience we won't take as long to make it back again.

Although I'm giving a 3 star, just know....the pizza is amazing and all the employees are super nice. It was a HOT day, so it was nice to walk in because they had the AC on. After sitting at the table for a minute, it was actually getting really cold. We placed our order for a family size half cheese half pepperoni pizza, bacon wrapped jalapeños, garlic bread. I was hoping it would be old fashioned garlic bread, but its a flat bread with cut in triangles with cheese on top. The jalapeños were good, and pizza is amazing. The first time they came to our table, they brought two pizzas and placed them down. I let the guy know it was not our order. He apologized, took one, said he would go find out what happened, and walked away leaving one pizza at our table. He then came back a couple minutes later and picked up the pizza and brought ours. After we ate, it did take a long time to get our bill; but it was getting pretty crowded. Our waitress was really nice, and she was always at a table or at the bar helping someone. Overall, we will be back, because we enjoyed the food and the servers were nice. There are definitely other dishes that we would love to try.

Wife asked me to pick up the labor inducing pizza. It's an expensive pizza, but it is loaded with a lot of quality toppings. This is a special event/fine dining pizza. This isn't an everyday Domino's pizza. While it did not induce labor, it was still a good pizza. When I picked up the order, I entered through the pick up side entrance. The waiter that was helping was very friendly. While I live far from this place, I would go back when I am in the Roseville area. The place has nice decorations and seems family friendly.

Pasta lunch [Rocklin CA] It's been a minute since our last meal here at Skipolini's. Took my second child here for lunch since she likes her pastas. Sunday lunch hour was not too busy and we were seated right away. She ordered her favorite, the PAPPARDELLE BOLOGNESE and I chose their SHRIMP SCAMPI. Food was served at a decent time, in fact, it was amazingly fast. Our server checked on us about twice during the duration of our lunch providing friendly and attentive service. You would think with these ingredients my Shrimp Scampi would be flavorful (sautéed shrimp, lemon, garlic, white wine, and tomatoes tossed with spaghetti pasta and parmesan cheese) for me it was a bit bland. It could be just me because my daughter really enjoyed her Pappardelle Bolognese. Coming back for the Blackened Salmon next time. Review #0071 updated

Stopped in with the family for some pizza. Dough is fresh, the kids got a piece of uncooked dough to play with. When they're not busy the little ones get to build their own pizza, which is nice. We ordered pepperoni and olives for half of a pizza, extra olives. We didn't get receive it but wait staff was nice and apologetic. Overall great atmosphere, clean, and offers a variety of gelato.

Got the "PREGO" and gave birth the following morning at work. LOL. - Pizza is always good. Ingredients were fresh and crust bake to perfection. Yummy.. -First time at this location, usually frequent the Folsom spot. I guess i'm just use to what I'm familiar with and think the regular spot is just a little bit better. - Shrimp Scampi was delicious. Pasta was al dente, and sauce was spot on. The GARLIC BREAD-WOW, nice and toasty. Brought the dish together. -Overall, an excellent spot with pretty good service. Will definitely recommend and revisit when out that way.

Service is excellent and so is the food. We had a company party here and had a table for 24 people. Our items were placed ahead of time. The pizzas are very good and well seasoned. I am usually not a fan of salads, but their house salad was very good. Servers are very friendly and makes sure you have everything you need. It is a very big restaurant with plenty of seatings.

1st time ever visit. Me & spouse Yelp Elite Barbara S. for dinner. Friendly greeting. Immediate seating. Prompt arrival of server. Drinks ordered. Delivered in 4 minutes. A fairly spacious dining room. About 1/2 full. Everybody has pizza on their table. Do they know something? Barb and me decide to be iconoclasts. She orders chicken piccata. I order flank steak. For the opener we share a small Skip's salad. It's plenty big, tasty ans satisfying. Entrees arrive 14 minutes later. Nice plate presentation. But then, uh-ooh, there's a problem. After the first bite of my risotto I taste that there is something sour and not supposed to be there. I eat 4 forkfuls more. Then Barbara tastes the rissotto and says " Stop eating that, it is spoiled!" I have to agree with her. We tell the server and the manager. Much conversation ensues, nothing confrontational. Manager tastes nothing off. Barb and I insist that it's not the aroma of the cheese, but the abborio rice has been out for too many hours at room temperature. Spoiled rice can cause sever sickness. People have actually died from eating 2 day old rice that has been left out on the kitchen counter for 2 days. I know this, I'm Italian, I've eaten risotto since an infant. I'm 74 years old now. So we lend our advice on safe food procedures. The manager is grateful that we are not being assholes. Comped tiramisu dessert. $89 bill with tax and tip. Fine. I like the corporate, but not corporate dining room. The servers were all super nice. I'll return. But it's pizza next time.

This place is in our regular rotation of go-to places for dinner. The pizzas are one of our favorite items to order here. They're even able to make it with non dairy cheeses. Always happy with the food here. My son also begs for gelato before we go. He only wants chocolate so we haven't tried the others but the texture is nice.

So first time there and ordered the scampi that came with some toasted bread. . We also ordered a few different pizzas that were so damn good. Crust was perfect, no toppings was spared. Some serious Pies! We also ordered the jalapeño poppers which were a good snack while we waited. I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area.

Came out to Skipolinis to support Ruhkala Elementary fundraiser. We ordered the Skip's Dip and Bruxelles Fritti. The Skip's Dip was a classic Italian started oil and vinegar dip. The bread was fresh and warm. The Bruxelles Fritti was delicious. I would def order again. We also ordered a family size Cesar salad--so good. I'm pretty sure they make their dressing in house. For the entree we ordered the legendary Prego Pizza. It has every topping you can imagine. I think it was good but would have been better if it cooked a little bit longer. It was slightly over done. It was a busy restaurant--it's Friday night. Our server was great and stayed on top of refills and other needs (ranch, napkins, drinks). I appreciated they had a small playground outside for kids to play on. It's a great family friendly restaurant.

Disappointing Experience Due to Food Safety Concern…read more I visited this restaurant on Wednesday for lunch. This was actually my second time dining here. My first visit was pleasant, which is why I decided to come back. This time, I ordered what I believe was the tri-tip steak wrap. As I was finishing the first half of my wrap, I noticed a dead fly in my food. Needless to say, I was shocked and immediately lost my appetite. I walked to the front and asked to speak with a manager. The cashier who helped me was very friendly and professional. I explained the situation to her, and she relayed it to the manager. While I do appreciate that they refunded my meal, what disappointed me most was the manager's response. He never came over to speak with me, apologize, or acknowledge the situation directly. From where I was standing, he appeared visibly disturbed when informed, but he simply instructed the cashier to issue a refund and never addressed me as the customer. I understand that mistakes happen and that it was a busy lunch rush. However, finding a fly in a meal is a serious food safety issue, and I believe a manager or owner should take a moment to personally speak with the customer, show concern, and offer an apology. A little empathy would have gone a long way. The refund was appreciated, but the lack of acknowledgment and customer care left a much stronger impression than the refund itself. Unfortunately, after this experience, I'm hesitant to return.

Prices are very reasonable and they even have an option for a half sandwich/side combo. I always get a Dutch crunch and I normally eat through the pain of the hard crust on the top that hurts my mouth. But here, the Dutch crunch is incredibly soft and fresh, not hard at all. It had the texture of a fresh light crouton. My sandwich had a lot of meat on it, and the veggies tasted extra fresh. I could only eat half my sandwich, but the second half I saved for a snack later on in the day and it was still yummy. The turkey chili they had on special was so smoky and flavorful, definitely worth a try. A couple small things I noticed and very much appreciated. If you order for here, they will put your food and sides on actual plates with real silverware. They don't just wrap it togo like any other sandwich spot would do regardless if you are eating it there or not. They also immediately give you water cups without requesting one, they are actually full size cups and not the small 6oz children courtesy cups you would normally get. They also let me sample the turkey chili and macaroni salad before committing to a full size order of it. It's the little things like this that leave impressions, aside from the delicious food. Unfortunately this spot is quite the drive from my house, but if you're in the area doing some shopping, they are a must try!
