Look at all those toppings!

Yay for Skip's! As I've mentioned, I'm sadly off dairy, and I miss good pizza as a result. Skipolini's offers rice-based non-dairy cheese, and it's about the best vegan cheese I've tasted. It's very creamy, which went well with the garlic sauce. Dear Hubby and I shared the white sauce pizza topped with plentiful amounts of mild Italian sausage, mushrooms, and olives. We were supposed to have some fresh tomatoes, also, but I asked for that at the end, and it may not have made it into the computer. We were there for my high school class reunion - the first night, which was a casual hang-out event. As Old Town Clayton has changed in the many decades since I was last there, Skipolini's has also altered their overflow configuration. I didn't realize that there was a large pavilion out back with dozens of picnic tables, covered by open-sided tents. They also have an extended seating area to the far side with big comfy couches as a place to lounge and visit. The pizza arrived in due course. I felt sorry for the young servers - they had to walk the pizzas around the entire outside area calling out the name of the person who'd ordered. They must get hoarse at the end of their shift! Our group was hard to be heard over, too. About 60+ people reuniting who hadn't seen each other in a long time! Considering that it was a big group event, Skip's managed it very well. From ordering, through delivery of the warm 'za, to enjoying the delicious flavors and textures, to packing up leftovers, it all went smoothly. Too bad they are so far away!

Skip Dip! 100% worth the 2000 mile trip!

I'm scared I'm gonna undersell how much we love Skipolini's. My friends flew in from Ohio and Pennsylvania and the the ONLY thing they wanted to do on their 2 day stay was drive an hour from Tracy to get Skip Dip and Pizza. I take them every time they come in and it's pretty much the only thing they ask about. lol. Beyond grateful that we were treated to the recipe this time too. My friends are out of their mind trying it at home with proper ratios. Skipolini's is in every big memory for the last 25 years with them and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Skip's has the cutest atmosphere, a lot of things to do from bocce, to a play structure for the kids! The pizza is delicious and they have gluten free options!

This is my new favorite place to order pizza from!! The thicker doughy crust had a great consistency and they sure don't skimp on the toppings. A couple of weeks ago I ordered the Palermo and the Prego pizza and they were great. I also totally recommend the roasted garlic topping to add to any pizza. Everything was so good I'm going back later today.

Indoor and outdoor seating

Walt from Walt's Adventures here in Clayton, California and I'm at Skipolinis pizzeria. This restaurant is unlike any other pizza destination you have, most likely, encountered. Granted, they have the same enmities like indoor and covered heating outdoor seating like their competitors. What makes them unique is their customer service for they treat customers as if they themselves were the owners. We were immediately greeted, ordered two small sized pizzas and then was encouraged to purchase a refillable than individual drinks for the better deal. Not more than 20 minutes later, not our numbers but names were called the waitress who personally brought us our meals. Their pizzas were probably the finest crafted that I had the pleasure of consuming. If you want to visit a fine family restaurant with awesome pizzas, go to Clayton.

Pizza is excellent. I'm knocking a star off for the obnoxious Rap Crap Music they were playing this time.

Skips is the best pizza around. The Clayton location is seriously too cute. Twinkle lights, outside TVs, good food. Can't beat it!

I could write a book on catering parties as a former restauranteur but most of you reading this…read morewould be bored. So I'll just get to the point. I have never hired a caterer for myself because I simply don't trust anyone else to cook for my guests - until now! This occasion was special - my wife and I were throwing our daughter an engagement party for about 70 people. Thank goodness I hired Cindy! Forget the fact there is no way I could have done this on my own for that many people anyway - but what really made the event was the fact she was beyond the ultimate professional she was a better version of me (sorry not trying to brag - just stating facts). She was incredibly prepared (and brought her daughter Ronnie who was an amazing help as well!). She knew her way around my grill as if it was her own. She brought all the right tools and gadgets to ensure every dish came out perfect - which ALL of them did! And she even took the tails off the 10 lbs of shrimp I had mistakingly ordered - in literally minutes - incredible! Everything was cooked, grilled and presented with absolute perfection. Last night was the start of something special between my family and love.cook.nourish. Cindy is now the only person I will trust going forward and is now unofficially an adopted member of our family or should I say my sister from another mother... Love.cook.nourish is hands down the best caterer for your event or party - regardless of how complex or simple, you want to make it! And if you have read this far you better get going and contact her quickly for your party because she is going to be in the highest demand as word gets out about this gem! PS - feel free to reach out to me for more specifics if you wish - always happy to share more details.

We hired her for our wedding reception, my husband didn't want me to do anything for the reception, he told me to find someone to do it for us. Well I found Cindy, we sat down with her and in 5 minutes I knew she was the right person for our reception. We told her we would like to have a "Western theme" she took the reins () and ran with the idea. Next thing we knew we had the best "Upscale" BBQ for 80 people one could ask for And as advertised with love.cook.nourish, Cindy made our wedding cake also, Very Banana with Cream Cheese frosting and two different flavors of cupcakes for our guest What a fantastic night we all had Thank You Cindy and Staff at LCN

As a vegetarian at the time, I just didn't go out of my way to try TSH. Fast forward: Attended TSH's 20th anniversary celebration, which had something nourishing and tasty for everyone - vegetarian, vegan, locavore, paleo, raw, gluten-free, etc. *Cherished TSH 20th anniversary recipe book, with fantastic photos from Mary Dee, featuring veg-friendly Three Sisters Chili, Gingered Greens with Butternut Squash & Coconut Milk, and Carrot Cake with Sprouted Spelt Flour. *Enjoyed all-ages friendly activities like Making Butter in Mason Jars with marbles, playing Weston Price is Right bingo (where all participants won snacks), Making Transit Bites (date bar with dried plums & coconut), etc. This activity space had bookcases filled with holistic health/nutrition/cooking books - many that I read while studying at Bauman. *Appreciated tour for behind-the-scenes look at kitchen and fermentation room. Learned more from museum-like display of The Lexicon of Sustainability (PBS series) photographs by Douglas Gayeton with TSH's local commentary. *Nourished with all-day access to sample chicken bone broth, chocolate olive oil cake (gluten-free), and sauerkraut (vegan). *TSH store featured Sally Fallon's Nourishing Traditions books, as well as curated selection of mostly locally produced artisanal foods and TSH's own wholesome foods made from scratch on-site. *My favorite purchase: Rize Up Bakery's Olive Parm Truffle Black Pepper sourdough loaf at 20% off! So delicious when spread hand-shaken butter over sliced sourdough. *Very welcoming space and community of worker-owners committed to sharing slow food ethos and yummy nourishing foods! *Conveniently located near AC Transit stop, walking distance from Downtown Berkeley BART station (also near Saturday Farmers' Market) as well as free parking lot. Totally worthwhile to make one's way to TSH!
