I lost a diamond here two weeks ago, I filed a police report and I also let the store management know, the store manager Alana did not care whatsoever, she will just stare at you with no expression on her face when you were talking to her. No help no compassion no empathy, just a mindless blank robot.
Jackie from the deli is a thief, and Alicia, who works at the check stands is also a thief . I lost a diamond in here and Alicia called me from her PERSONAL cell phone number to tell me that Jackie from the deli found my lost diamond in the deli.
I went to go pick up my diamond after work completely over the moon that somebody have found it and turned it in, the employee Jackie, claims took my diamond that she had found in the store and on her body and left the store because she claims she did not want somebody else to steal it if she put it in the Lost and Found behind the counter in the safe,
I told Alicia to please call her and let her know I was at the store waiting for her to return back my last item, she came back off the clock with a piece of glass 2.5 carat imposter stone!!
I filed the police report, I reached out to the district manager. His name is Fred, he could care less as well. After expressing to him what happened he made it very clear that Safeway would probably not be liable since I lost my stone, THATS FINE. However, to have an employee claim that they had found a diamond, admit to leaving the store with it on their persons and then coming back and bringing back something fake is completely ridiculous!!
As a manager and somebody who's supposed to be trustworthy, I would've absolutely reprimanded my team and replaced the necessary employees was trustworthy people who actually have some integrity.
I would never spend money here and I sure as hell would never trust not one single breathing person at this entire store. They all lie, they all have each other's backs, and they all are still working there after they clear violation of Safeway's policy that you were not to leave the store with a lost or stolen goods. I'm not gonna let this rest, I've sent this up to the regional managers, continued to follow up with a detective that I've turned over the fake stone too, but walking in and seen every single person who played with me standing there working while they admitted to thievery is mind-boggling!!
The manager, the district manager, and every employee in the store has zero integrity, zero customer service, and clearly they like to keep people employed who have admitted to taking lost property off the premises worth of thousands of dollars, if you come into the store and drop something of high value chances are an employee will walk away with it out of the store and not get reprimanded and you will not get your items back!!!!
Safeway might have denied my claim for the value back & that's fine, however, keeping liars and people who don't follow the strict policy is not acceptable whatsoever in the least that Safeway can do is make that right so that they have trustworthy employees inside their facilities.
Also I guess around the middle of August 2026, somebody lost a 2.5 carat diamond in the deli, just like me, because Jackie gave me a fake diamond claiming she had found this inside the store a week prior to me losing mine, (separate account) she claims that the diamond she found could not have been mine because the timing was off, however, she handed it to me, and I've turned it over to law-enforcement. Since she never reported it, again nobody would even know an item was found because they have not reported it to law-enforcement or management!!
