I'm sure there's better skating rinks out there. I took my niece to skate and first I didn't think I'd have to pay just to watch her but I was wrong. Ok, 12 bucks I'll never see again, fine but the rules are outrageous. Don't be a beginner and expect to hold to the wall they won't allow it. We recently got into roller skating and found this place on Yelp. We're based in Corona so couldn't miss out on the opportunity to check this rink out. While the entrance is a bit weird, once in it was pretty neat. It's definitely aged as it's been around a long time, but the rink was nice, the DJ was on point with good tunes, the vibes were great, people smiling and having a great time! Was invited to a birthday party here on a Saturday and I'd have to say I'm impressed. The employees seemed very kind and patient. They enforced safety rules. The bathrooms were clean. The food was delicious especially the chicken salad and pizza. It seemed like they kept the whole establishment pretty tidy and kept up on. It wasn't too crowded. The roller rink had a nice flow to it and we had a great time. Definatley going to look into party packages. read more

Always a good time! Could use some updates to the bathrooms, etc. But I come to adult nights sessions (Sat/Sun)and travel an hour because the music is great and atmosphere is cool. The guards may kill your ears with the whistles though. Rather come here than Moonlight, which is closer to where I live but sucks on many levels. read more

1st. The check in process sucks. Why not start letting people in at 15 minutes but not allow anyone on the floor until 3:30. Then you should have both windows open right when your open. You should tell people if they don't have their digital tickets, then don't get in line. Questions go to the window. All the rules, I get it but have someone ref and tell people instead of stopping the music every song. Skate are old and do not run small, stop telling people that. Rink is small. Also, my sister and I had to pay to watch out kids. I mean dam. Charge $5 instead of the full price. Stood in line for over 20 minutes to get water. Very inefficient. I have been going to the Moonlight Rollerway and decide to to this weekend to this location because of the convenient time sessions. It was Super crowded with Birthday Parties at the 12-3pm session. I think my biggest complaint was the Dj! He was less of a DJ and more of a skating patrol!! All o wanted to hear was music, but what we all heard was rules and guidelines about dress code,and safety guidelines at one point he just stopped the music and everyone stoped at the rink and lecture all of is what seemed like 10 min... this is why they have skater coaches on the rink to take care of this. I had the WORST experience at this skating place me and my cousins came to have a good night after. we drove an hour because it was the closest, We came to celebrate a birthday but sadly was denied because we were under 18 to go to the I'm guessing 6-11pm thinking it was a good time to go but was denied. Our daughter had her 10th birthday party at Skate Express. They let her have a costume themed party as long as the costumes were skate safe, meaning no costumes would drag the floor or restrict them from being able to skate freely. They had a lot of fun. What a horrible experience with a staff that has little to no consideration. We came to bring in the new year and one of our family members has a cast. I explained this and asked to have her use an aid and they had no consideration and refused to budge. The gentleman was short with me and had little customer service skills. I want to start off by saying the vibes here were pretty great. I feel like we came on a good day, a lot of people had their own custom skates and were all dancing. But that's about all I liked. It was the 20+ freestyle Friday. My friends and I are decent skaters and thought we'd try this place out. (Weird hours, it closes for 30 minutes in between skate times). My friend called them and wanted to ensure they accepted walk ins or if we should buy our tickets online. The lady said "you know we close and then open at 9 right?" And my friend said "yea we were gonna go to the 9 o'clock" then she goes "you know there's an age limit right?" And my friend just said yes 20+. The attitude she was given over the phone was rude but not enough to quite throw us off yet. Once we got there there was a security guard and we had to walk through a metal detector. The security guard was also like staring pretty intently at us. Next we go inside and get our skates. I'm order to use a locker you have to pay 75 cents. That's not a problem per say. (I think the lockers should have resettable codes and should be complimentary to your visit ‍). As I was walking up to the floor with my very small crossbody bag, the referee lady said I can't bring my bag on. So I had to put it in my locker, but the locker locks after you pay and in order to lock it you have to pay again! So I went up to the front desk to ask for assistance and she just told me I have to pay everytime I open and close my locker. So the signs say NO PHONES, NO BAGS, NO LOOSE ITEMS. So you literally can't have anything with you but you have to pay everytime you want to check your phone or put on chapstick? Hmm. Next, I'm a decent skate but not great. I usually have to warm up to it. So I'm skating on the outer circle of the rink, and I at one point grabbed the wall. The referee lady whistled at me and told me beginner/slow skaters can only skate in the inner circle so that advanced skaters can do tricks. Only a few reasons why this bothered me: 1. Everywhere I've ever gone, ice rinks and skating rinks, beginners are on the outer parts because there is a wall to grab onto. 2. The inner circle is harder considering there is more sharp turns and less straight pathways. 3. I think if they're advanced enough they know to just skate passed me?? Whatever it was not too big of a deal so I went in the middle ish but I ended up going back on the outside because it's more fun and I didn't fall at all and I was keeping up, also it's freestyle Friday. The referee kept watching me like I was breaking a million rules. Reading other reviews I completely agree and would like to add: they definitely only cater towards their advanced regulars and it is not beginner friendly at all. When I was told to go to the middle, I was going a little slow but I wasn't wobbly or falling. There were advanced skaters going slower than me but not told to move. If we're going the same speed and not falling, I don't see why I need to move... None of these were that terrible but all added up I got so frustrated read more

It's about 30 mins away from us but since they closed Cerritos I guess this is it. It's clean, not crowded, plenty of parking available. ***Beware of overcharges*** I had my daughter a party here with the bowling. One lane was not working but they did offer discount. Everything was going okay until I started to get late party guests. When the bill came they said they lost the guest list. I knew people didn't come but still paid full amount. My sister first told me they charged her at the door. Refused her and another guest WHO WAS ON THE LIST and they had to pay admission and rental. Then I found out another one of my guests had to pay and for all three of her children! I was outraged. Not only did I pay in full, they accused my guests of lying and told them they had to pay. I called management and they didn't resolve the issue. In total I paid over 2 adults and 2 kids WHO DIDNT SHOW. And on top of that my 3 adults and 3 children OVERPAID. They kept over $200 besides the $400 I paid for the party. But that isn't the best part! My friend had a party there a week after. Me and another mom went to the window, said our party host name and ours. Surprise! We weren't on the list. She was holding a paper and said not one of us were on the list, 7 of us, and we either had to pay in full. Or call the host ourselves. It was a scam!! To shame us to call the host, that's embarrassing. So then I told the other mom I was going to call and MAGICALLY she found our names on the list. This place will scam you if you're not careful. It's a real shame to overcharge guests when honestly it isn't the greatest place. I will definitely be spreading the word of these scammers and I hope you're careful if you come here. read more

I'll start with the good! Yay for a local skating rink. The rink is decent! Good size, well staffed, keeping people following rules. The atmosphere needs a major upgrade. Everything is from the early 90's.... love the colors and theme but it's just soooo run down. I could get past this part IF the food was edible. Physical activity = hungry kiddos! Omg seriously the pizza was DISGUSTING. The kitchen was pretty gross looking. 50cents for water... come on.... at least put in a fountain for the kids. This place needs some serious TLC. The place needs management to spend money fixing things. There's 3 ran down arcade games, and a really small area for bumper cars that they should maybe remove and add an actual arcade. Everything is old and ran down. They were really packed, not a lot of room to skate. So it's not like they're not getting money to be able to update the place. Fix the place up. read more

I went last Sunday for the Adult skate night, which for anyone 21 and over, so I figured it would be a bunch of kids around my age and the music would be mostly like today's top 40 hits or whatever. So when I get there I was surprised to find that the crowd was mostly older people and that the music was only like 70s r & b slow love jams. It was like make love to your wife on the roller rink night, with lots of older couples slow dancing in their skates. The music and crowd were definitely not my thing, we were very out of place, including myself and my friends there was like 5 people there that weren't black. The music was just terrible! It was not fun music at all for roller skating. Not the "Dj playing today's top hits," that their website promised. The rink is kind of old and dirty like most rinks, but the uneven carpeting makes skating around more difficult than it already is. The arcade games were off and steal your quarters when they are on. The manager seemed annoyed that we wanted to play Air Hockey and that he had to turn on the machines for us. I've been to other roller rinks with better games that are actually on. The staff obviously sucks, and they're bad at promoting their different nightly themes. Never have I been to something like this where I was completely clueless on what the music and atmosphere would be like. That's why websites and descriptions exist, right? Unless they start explaining and describing their event nights better, I might just stick to World on Wheels in Los Angeles, because in spite of the traffic it's still a better roller rink. read more

Took my daughter and autistic cousin to this place to have the kids enjoy a night out together. However after we arrived I purchased tickets and what they call a 'skate mate' for my autistic cousin, since he doesn't know how to skate. We go inside grab our skates and I go to get a 'skate mate' and they now tell me he's too big, but it wasn't until we got inside AFTER purchasing everything that they tell me this. I tried explain to a woman and a man that he needs the help because of his autism and only received a "oh that's too bad, I'm sorry". Still fine, but when I asked for a refund I was then told "Sorry, all sales are final" when there are literally NO signs that say such a thing about refunds on skates and entrance and even after only being in there for less than 10 minutes and not finding out that the extra help for my cousin wouldn't be available because he was too tall. Definitely never going back to this place and I suggest anyone with a loved one with special needs stay far away as well read more

The parking is hectic and very notices and trash everywhere after you leave and the music is lousy and they allow the others who skates speeding like a race car and knock you down and they have been Paramedics there often because people gets seriously injured due to speed skating. So I wanted something memorable for my 45th birthday. I booked a skate party at Skate Express! I went in, in person because I had very specific needs. I met with Jessica, got a ton of information and booked the "Private Royal Package". I had conversations with Jessica about my needs and how I needed a private room. There were 3 private room, 2 of which she showed me via their reservation folder that were available on the day I needed. One room was not private, it had 3 walls and a counter. The other was the Royal Room which was a private room with just a door. We made jokes about who doesn't want to be the queen for a day and Instagraming pics in the throne etc. I left excited and impressed. Day before my party I had a couple phone conversations with people verifying my reservation and food plan. Very friendly and information was accurate. I arrive the day of my party, check in and walk to the Royal Room only to find someone else's party name on it. I check all of the party tags and find my name on the 3 walled non-private room. It was all too good to be true. I approached Jessica and told her I was in the wrong room. She argued with me a bit that this was the room I had booked, but offered to look into it. She remembered me booking it and said she could not understand what had happened. She suddenly found another reservation in the folder that was book the day prior to my booking for the same room. She said there was nothing she could do, but would only charge me for the party room. She basically solved the issue by saying she was only going to charge me for the crappy room they had given me, which I did not want. I explained that this did not solve my problem. She offered to get her supervisor Josh Carpenter. He decided to handle my situation by sighing in my general direction which not making eye contact with me and repeated everything Jessica had already told me in a monotone and rehearsed tone. When he finished I again explained my reasons for requiring the private room (this was due to my guest list which included some people with special needs). He rolled his eyes at me and said he was sorry in a manner befitting a sibling being forced to apologize. I stated that this did not help my situation at all. He pulls out a flyer and circles a phone number, then slides it across the counter at me and says "then you can leave and here is out phone number to deal with your problems". I asked him if I was suppose to stand outside and wait for my 30 guests to arrive to tell them the party was canceled? As I spoke he turned away from me mid sentence and walked back into his little booth. Jessica saw this happening and jumped in to approach me and take over where Josh Carpenter had left off. Jessica offered oligopolies, which I appreciated, but there were no offers of any actions to make anything better or right. I had to ask Jessica if Josh Carpenter was really a supervisor, based on his inept attitude and lack of the most common courtesy, manners or customer service ability. Jessica offered to call the President of the company to see if there was anything that could be done. She approached me after a few minutes to tell me that she had texted him, David, the president f the company. He had told her she could give me a $20 discount because of the room mix up. Please note that $20 was the difference in price between the two rooms already. So David, the President of the company reiterated that they would allow me to pay for the crappy room that they decided I would have, and didn't want. She gave me a phone number to call him myself, and said he is was expecting me to call him. I went outside to call him and realized that the phone number she gave me was for Skate Express, which means he was in the building and count not be bothered to come talk to me in person himself. That told me all I needed to know. I didn't bother calling him. Meanwhile, I have guest arriving and this is how I spent the first hour of my 3 hour party. I ended up having to call the guest that would not be able to attend due to the room, and let them know the situation. They all ended up having to cancel their attendance. This caused me to have to pay for 10 people to skate, and not even have 10 people skating. I had no choices and was stuck. I regret 100% planning this party and choosing Skate Express for it. The rudeness and general lack of anything given by Josh Carpenter cemented that I will not be returning to Skate Express as long as he is there, and I will encourage anyone else to do the same. There is no place in customer service for someone who is clearly either to high or too dumb to comprehend what his job is. read more

For something that seems like it has gone to the wayside this place is doing great for memories! We came with my nephews and son. I hadn't skated in well over a decade, and the first time for my son. But we had fun! Good music, they need to get a few songs without the explicit lyrics so they don't have to mute the bad words. Came here for the first and last time tonight. The older woman at the ticket booth was super rude to my niece regarding her top and how it was inappropriate. I also brought my toddler so she can skate with the rest of my family. Initially, I brought her trainer skates and they weren't a good fit, so I decided to rent skates. The nice gentleman sold me a ticket and I obtained a pair. I had to exchange for a bigger size minutes later. The rude woman from the ticket booth decided to poke her nose into my business and tell the other employee that helped me that I didn't pay for skate rental after I had walked off. Unbeknownst to her, my mother was standing at the counter to purchase additional items. When my mom corrected her, she later stated she couldn't hear well. Maybe she should stick to collecting tickets and mind her own business. All this over 5 damn dollars. read more

Give Thanks for a place in Southern California that rolls late night. The DJ was hilarious and the Sound System that surrounds the rink creates a Wall of Sound with a massive setup of mounted JBL speaker for quality assurance. Never have I been to a place where you can listen to bass heavy club music and hear the rasta dem shout glory unto JAH inna simultaneous vibe.
